Everything at The Food Market was perfect! My girlfriend and I were visiting Baltimore for our anniversary and her birthday, and were so pleased with our brunch at The Food Market prior to our drive home on Sunday. We enjoyed a couple breakfast shots - the French Toast and the Bluth’s Banana Stand, both excellent - and we’re surprised with the delicious doughnut bites served with our beverages, that also included a hot coffee and a Market Iced Coffee.
The menu is full of so many fantastic looking dishes that it was hard to choose, but I was thrilled with the Chicken and Biscuits while my girlfriend loved her Salmon Bacon and Scrambled Eggs.
We were treated to a lovely little card that thanked us for celebrating our special days at The Food Market and were so surprised when our server brought out two decadent desserts with lit candles.
The service was excellent, the atmosphere lovely and relaxed, the food beyond compare and delivered very quickly after we ordered. I would absolutely recommend The Food Market and look forward to returning the next time I’m in Baltimore.
Not the usual spectacular food 🤷🏽♀️ The onion dip with sweet potato chips was good but the proportion of dip was way off- 3 or 4 times more dip than chips. My brunch sandwich that I have had before was made on wheat not rye. It was ok but the rye is better. The service and staff were awesome!
Amazing food, experience from beginning to end!!
I have eaten here many times and the food never disappoints. The service is outstanding and our server (James) aims to please. The energy is lively, if one is looking to have an intimate conversation it will be somewhat difficult in this setting, this is a very happy place and the happiness is infectious.
Great service, food is very good. Nice there is valet parking option too. it does get noisy in there.
Wonderful as always!! Food Service Ambiance!!
The Food Market is always at the top of its game. The food is always excellent, as are the drinks. My favorite restaurant in Baltimore!
Great, fast and knowledgeable server. Love the food at TFM but it definitely gets loud, not good for a date night but with friends it’s a great atmosphere.
Great food, drinks and service! Will be back.
My wife had the pork chop and I had four appetizers ranging from little to small. We both started with the cream of crab soup which was excellent and had a large amount of lump crab meat. I then had the tuna meatballs which were very good. The flavor was excellent, although they were a little spicy which tended to cover the flavor just a bit. We then had the deep fried pickles and fried oysters which both were very good. The portion were very large and I ended up taking half the oysters home and was able to use them to make a Po-Boy the next day? My wife's pork chop was done perfectly and the flavor was spot on.
We don't get to Baltimore too often and tried this place since it had great reviews. We were not disappointed and will definitely go back the next time we are in town.
Smokey Bowl for brunch is the only option!!
Brunch was delicious. I highly recommend the salmon bacon and any of the specialty cocktails.
Came in late had to ask to be waited on but after that everything was outstanding.
Jermaine was our server snd he was terrific! He kept the cocktails flowing and was very attentive. Love the menu too
Had a wonderful family meal with kids home from college! Such fun. Food was delicious as always!
The food is outstanding! You want to try everything but can’t because you won’t be able to breathe when you leave. The Heath bar bread pudding is devine. Can’t wait to come back.
Definitely will be back, the combination of food, drinks, and atmosphere were great and offer a solid value.
I love The Food Market and it never disappoints. Food is always great and wait staff is awesome!
Food and service was wonderful. Our server was very happy to serve us and took very good care of us.
Great food and waiter was the best
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Now, I don't think I'll ever return. Up till the entree portion of our dinner, our experience had been consistent with prior visits. However, after receiving a well-done Wagyu steak, which I had ordered medium-rare, our experience took a disastrous nosedive. After signaling the issue to our server, he promptly returned it to the kitchen. By the time he returned to check-in with us, my entire party had finished off their entrees and I was still without dinner. I told him to cancel the steak and it was removed from our bill. Not once did we receive even a simple apology for the mistake. Not from the server, the manager, or the chef standing five feet from us (who should have caught the mistake before it left the kitchen). After paying our check ($150 for two people, including tip and no entree for myself), I did ask to speak with the manager. She was incredibly unsincere and clearly had no motivation to make the situation "right." Her de facto response, as is typical, was offering a gift card, which we declined. She also admitted that our server made her aware of the situation, yet she had avoided us entirely. Not only is that unprofessional behavior, but it shows blatant disrespect to the customer. Hopefully, someone at the restaurant reads this and will train the staff to better handle situations like ours.
The food was impressive and James the waiter was so nice he took pictures of us and he know exactly what to recommend
We were celebrating my sister wedding and we loved it it’s also kids friendly we had a baby and a daughter 9 years old
Everything we ate was delicious! We had the lobster appetizer, salmon, pork chop and 2 desserts. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is great. It is a bit loud but that did not bother us. The sauces were incredible.
Went on a Wednesday night at 6:30.
Had a few starters for the table. Mozz sticks, pretzels with beers cheese, tuna, and fried pickles. Pickles were the best we've had anywhere. Pretzels are amazing and the mozzarella sticks are unlike any we've ever had. Our group had 2 mozzarella stick true lovers and said they were the best.
2 of us at the table had burger. Both ordered medium... mine was a bit dry. My sons were perfect, he said.
My husband had a tuna entree... he said he's had better, he thought the tuna was a bit fatty. Another person had the beet salad, which was good. I'd give service a 7/10... the young man filling the water was outstanding. Tried a new to me fabulous red wine by Charles & Charles... will be on the look out for that again! We'd go back for sure, it's worth it just for the mozzarella sticks and pickles!
The food and service were awesome as usual!
Fun creative menu! Great service. Will definitely come back next time we are in Baltimore!
Waited 45 minutes for order. So noisy. Manager did reduce check 25%.
Great experience! Traveling in from out of town...really enjoyed the food and service. Really cool vibe too:)
Amazing as always. Excellent cocktails, superb brunch menu. I got the smokey bowl, my friend got the Army Breakfast and both of us ordered a Cider 1017, which is the best cocktail I've ever had. Best spot in Baltimore.
I had three seafood selections that were superb. The tempura squash blossoms stuffed with lump crab were a first for me, delicious, creative! The pan roasted mussels in a creamy sauce with bacon were so tasty, I needed bread to dip in the sauce. Finally the fried oysters carbonara were tender and well-seasoned.
Wonderful service and great food! Fun, upbeat atmosphere - perfect for an informal birthday celebration. Will definitely return!
i was told to note a birthday celebration and something special would be provided. nothing was provided despite notation. overall food was good and server was attentive.
I loved the food, but felt like we were rushed out a bit. The food came really fast and wasn’t spaced out. Food was great, but would have liked to have been able to sit and enjoy rather then feeling rushed and interrupted every few minutes with another dish or the server taking a finished plate. Overall, I enjoy this place but do not recommend ordering all your food at once.
They get it right every time!!!
We had reservations but the host told us to sit at the bar until our table was ready because we were 10 minutes early. She said I have someone ahead of you. It was plenty of table open. We sat at the bar. The host came over 20 minutes later and said close your tab at the bar and your table will be ready shortly. We closed the tab and she sat us at a small table next to the bar. I let her know I did not like the seat and she did not change the seat. We decided to stay at the bar. The bar was great but the host made me not want to come back.
Ac was not working
Great mozzarella sticks and amazing blonde dessert!
What a Baltimore gem! We loved every part of our meal from cocktails to dessert, the service was amazing and we adored the Food Market's atmosphere! Make sure you don't miss the Garlicky-Herby-Creamy Shrimp small plate... mopping that sauce up with bread was my favorite thing I've eaten in the past month! And make sure you save room for the heath bar bread budding... holy smokes!
