The menu is fantastic and the quality of food was equally excellent. It was packed on a Wednesday night but service was still very good. The only downside is that there is only one restroom for each men and women. For such a busy place that is odd, and not great to have people standing in line in the dining area to use the restroom.
Food was sooo good. Drinks were a good price and just strong enough. Waiter (tommy) was very nice.
Love this place! Would absolutely recommend to anyone!
Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant itself is very pretty and then our server was lively and helpful. My father in law is a veery picky eater and he could not stop saying how uniquely delicious the flavors of the food were. Fried oysters and shrimp pops were delicious, but don’t get me started on the bread they served (yum!). I ordered the sirloin, which cut like butter with crisped crust. Hubby got the crab cake and he raved about the lobster mac & cheese. We will be back to try more of their dishes.
Amazing food, great staff, quick service but not pushy, enjoyable environment, average cost
Had reservations but people were still seated before us and when i went to the hostess it was bc the person i told never checked me in..waiter took forever to come take our drink order food was good and everything..waiter spilled syrup on my clothes had to get jacket dry cleaned....
The food and the energy at the restaurant were amazing as well as the service! We will definitely be going back.
The Food Market is one of our favorites! Last night was a little off from our usual experience. We had to wait 25 minutes after our reservation time to be seated - hostess staff were great in keeping us informed - once we got inside we saw that there were a number of large groups, at least 3 of 6+people, that probably fouled up the scheduling since they would tend to stay longer socializing than the average diner. Once seated our server James was great - personable and attentive! The cream of crab soup was excellent, as always, and my husband really enjoyed his mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad. I ordered the shrimp dinner (shrimp and grits) which is what I always get. The last time we were here the Cajun cream sauce totally overwhelmed the dish - there was too much (I had to 'fish" to find the shrimp and sausages under it) and it was far spicier than the other 10+ times I've had this dish. So last night I asked James 1) could the cream sauce be put on the side - he told me it couldn't because it's all cooked together, so 2) then I explained my last experience, and asked if they could just go light on the cream sauce, he said that would be no problem. When it came out , it was just a little less than last time and still spicier. My husband ordered the NYStrip - medium - and it was solid red - definitely not medium. The restaurant was crazy busy/noisy - we didn't want to wait any longer, so we just ate it, but it was disappointing since TFM is one of our favorites and we always look forward to it.
Staff was super friendly! One person in our party had a list of severe food allergies and they were great to accommodate her needs. It made for a great night out with friends!
The service was outstanding (as usual). The tempura cauliflower (seasonal) was to die for. Our server even suggested a small portion of smoked hot sauce (in addition to the original paired sauce). Surprisingly it tasted really good with the cauliflower. My only complaint is my drink (Dutty Wine). I decided not to return my drink this time, however I didn't finish consuming it. It wasn't a good balance of sweet vs the rum. It looked good on the menu, but it wasn't palatable. This was my second visit to The Food Market within 2 months and my alcoholic beverage choices haven't been "great" compared to the past. Just wanted to make the restaurant aware with the hope of having a better libation experience in the future. Overall, our meal was delish.
My family is pretty much vegetarian and there was no dearth of options for us. We loved the tempura cauliflower and butternut squash grits. Mudcake pudding for dessert definitely made it worth it as well. I would check this place out for sure!
Food and service was great. I love coming here. I didn’t realize that there were seasonal menus so that was a nice surprise.
The staff was great! Definitely worked to please. Food was delicious. Nice vibe
The food was awesome, good selection. The server was scarce & it was very loud.
Overall the experience was excellent. I would highly recommend and also return. The drinks were a little slow in delivery and the noise level was high ... but this is part of their ambience. Great eclectic menu. Nice portions. Pleasant waitress.
Hip, casual, and delicious cocktails and brunch!
Great spot for brunch
The food was great. The only issue we had was my husband ordered steak frites and the fries were soggy and cold. A new batch was made, but came out after his steak was done - although the steak was good, all he commented about was the meal was incomplete. I loved my food and would like to come back, don’t think I’ll be accompanied by my hubby though. :(
THE FOOD MARKET WAS PHENOMENAL ON ALL FRONTS. FROM THE COCKTAILS TO THE APPETIZERS TO THE ENTREES – EXCEPTIONAL!
Our server, Damien, was the best! So funny & personable. Was well versed with the menu items. Put his two cents in without at all being over bearing. He just didn’t want us to order too much. He suggested what would be just right. It was my bf’s Birthday & the free dessert was amazing! Small & Larger plates & the entree were amazing! We’ll be back soon. We were discussing making the Food Market a once a month visit!
Good food and service “WAY TOOOO LOUD!!!!!”
Our server Jermaine was wonderful! The food is excellent, and well priced. I like how you can choose the size of your dish—the menu is organized well. The only clunker was the pumpkin cheesecake — more like a mousse.
And the free valet parking made it all a wonderful evening.
Food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all exceptional! We will definitely be back and will recommend to everyone.
Went for brunch with a friend. Nice ambiance, tasty and fun cocktails. The service was fine. Felt like I
I had to flag down my waiter for water refills and to ask for condiments after our meals came out, but otherwise service was good. However, I was very disappointed in the food. My friend and I both ordered omelettes and found them to be very bland. We kept adding salt and pepper hoping some flavor would emerge. I would come back here for happy hour, but not for a meal.
Food was great, which will keep me coming back. The design and layout of the restaurant creates a very noisy atmosphere with nothing to absorb diners voices. This hampers my experience everytime I go there.
The food was amazing! First time doing brunch here and it was delicious! Cocktails were just as great as the food. Service was wonderful as well! Very accommodating!
Great food and excellent atmosphere.
Always great food and staff.
Food and service were excellent. Well worth the price. We stuck to little and small plates, and they were perfect.
Bone marrow beef tacos were incredible
been going here for a long time and usually never disappointed. But friend's food was way too salty and overall the experience was not up to par (compared to prior visits and relative to the expensive menu).
Good but much too loud
The food was great. The customer service was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.
Always amazing! Service, food and cocktails were all awesome.
Delicious food. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu
Food was really good, as was the service. There were two issues: I selected noise level as "energetic", but in reality, it was frantic making it difficult to have a conversation; it was a cool evening, and you had the air-conditioning set to frigid (we asked for the temperature to be raised, but got a shrug; the service people were very active and not at all cold). The environmental issues, noise and temperature, should be addressed.
Our server Rebecca was the best part of the experience at the Food Market. The beet salad was watery and accompanied by odd pieces of lettuce. Not the best combination. The street tacos were excellent - full of flavor. My friend had the Baltimore Club sandwich and was very pleased. Seating at this restaurant is odd. There is no such thing as a corner table or a quiet spot. I was yet again placed where I had to watch everyone running in and out of the service area. The noise level is over the top, but it seems to not bother people. The bar was very quiet on this Thursday evening, and when I saw friends sitting there for dinner, I realized that they had the key to this restaurant. Peace and quiet away from the crowd. That's where I'll sit next time.
I was asking two of bridesmaids to be in my wedding
Everything at The Food Market was perfect! My girlfriend and I were visiting Baltimore for our anniversary and her birthday, and were so pleased with our brunch at The Food Market prior to our drive home on Sunday. We enjoyed a couple breakfast shots - the French Toast and the Bluth’s Banana Stand, both excellent - and we’re surprised with the delicious doughnut bites served with our beverages, that also included a hot coffee and a Market Iced Coffee.
The menu is full of so many fantastic looking dishes that it was hard to choose, but I was thrilled with the Chicken and Biscuits while my girlfriend loved her Salmon Bacon and Scrambled Eggs.
We were treated to a lovely little card that thanked us for celebrating our special days at The Food Market and were so surprised when our server brought out two decadent desserts with lit candles.
The service was excellent, the atmosphere lovely and relaxed, the food beyond compare and delivered very quickly after we ordered. I would absolutely recommend The Food Market and look forward to returning the next time I’m in Baltimore.
