The Flying V at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort
Great food and beautiful setting.
Great food, exceptional service. Perfect night for patio dining
Our favorite place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. It’s an investment but worth the splurge.
Great food and ambience for a romantic getaway.
We look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you for the review! Sincerely, -Sara Shicoff Flying V Manager
We've come here several times a year for many years and this visit was probably the best ever. Sitting on the V's deck at sunset this time of year, it just doesn't get any better. Food was excellent as always. Service was particularly outstanding this time. Our waiter was on top of everything without being pushy as we were enjoying our lengthy anniversary celebration. This is why we go out, to get a little special treatment on a special evening and the V came through with perfect marks. Thanks for a great evening!
Thank you so much for your review. Sincerely, -Sara Shicoff Flying V Manager
Quite average all around. Disappointing experience for a special occasion.
I am so sorry your occasion was not recognized. This is so important to us, please reach out to me at your convenience so I can personally invite you back in to make this right. Thank you for speaking up. I want to correct this. Sincerely, -Sara Shicoff Flying V Manager (520)615-5495
5 star restaurant with excellent chefs and staff. We will return to the Flying V !
Thank you so much for your review. Please let me know when you are in next so I can thank you in person! Sincerely, -Sara Shicoff Flying V Manager
What happened? Used to be a favorite, but decor change and menu change resulted in a terrible restaurant and severely overpriced even with my 20% discount. New extremely limited menu with no vegetarian option was severely overpriced. $18.00 for guacamole! Entrees above $40.00. They used to have one of the best short rib taco appetizers in town, now, for $13.00 you get two of the tiniest chicken tacos I have ever seen. The tacos came out ice cold and had to be redone. The salad was served on a dinner plate with 3/4 of the plate devoted to a drizzle of dressing and 3 bites of salad. When I called and asked for a 15 min earlier reservation, they, at first, said I had no reservation and I had to get my Open Table confirmation number. Then I was told not to come before my original time as they were “slammed”. In fact, only 1/2 of the tables were filled when we arrived. They used to have high backed southwestern style chairs and beautiful tables, now you get a small linen covered table with fuzzy (felt like goat hair) ugly white chairs. Won’t be back, even though within walking distance from my home.
Dear RichS, I am so sorry we were not able to give you the experience you have come to know and love. As I mentioned when we spoke on the phone, we have a new menu coming out in late October, and we always have an additional vegetarian menu upon request. If you arrive early, we will entertain at the bar or foyer. If our chairs displease you, we will drape them in linen for you. I hope we will see you on another visit. Thank you so much for your feedback. Sincerely, -Sara Shicoff Flying V Manager
Delicious filet and salmon! Great service! Beautiful setting!

We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace overlooking the waterfall. So fun to admire the fish and other wildlife.
We enjoyed a delicious watermelon salad. The risotto and salmon were perfect.
Thank you so much for your review. We are so thrilled you had a great experience and look forward to seeing you again soon! Sincerely, -Sara Shicoff Flying V Manager
the outside area was just perfect for a lovely evening. The food was excellent and the dessert was superb.
Beautiful room...floor to ceiling windows facing West...had a window table looking over landscaped courtyard
Ceilings high so noise level was low
Service was excellent
Enjoyed the 3 course dinner with wine pairings

Great evening for 6 friends to enjoy dinner, drinks and conversation!
Excellent food and attentive service. One of the best restaurants in Tucson.
We were staying at Loews so it was nice to walk next door and have a great meal. Sat outside which has a beautiful view overlooking a pond, waterfall and green. Great food and service. Limited menu. Try the table-side guac--it's the best!
It was very and as expected except the allow dogs in the restaurant which I was very surprised considering the price point and ambiance.
The best thing about the Flying V was the location the ambience. The service was good but the menu is very limited very very overpriced. Example 2 very small miniature Taco $16. The wines by the glass where week in unimpressive. Stay away there's many other very good places with just as good a service or better and just as good or better ambience.
As I left the restaurant I actually felt insulted for what they served the value I received for $120 to miniature tacos, 4 scallops, chips and guacamole, 1 glass of Malbec, and 1 martini
Always a great place to dine!
Everything was great! We will definitely go back.
Excellent dinner! Service is outstanding and meal was perfect!
We’ve been here many times, but this might be the end of the line for us.
Started with the watermelon/ tomato salad (a special) and it was pretty marginal in terms of taste and serving size. It was 2 cubes of watermelon (not very fresh, either) and 1 1/2 cherry tomatoes. Seriously!
My husband had the halibut (another special) and it was over cooked and therefore dry. Not good at all. I had a cheese quesadilla that was fine, but also nothing special.
The wine was good, the views are great, but the food was a disappointment. Even more so given the prices. We’ve had decent meals here previously, but we do believe that the Flying V has lost its allure.
there is not much selection on the menu.
my steak was very good. My husband’s tacos were average. Service was attentive. A little pricey for the experience.
Great place! Great food! Great service!
The quality of The food decreased since our last visit...the salmon was over cooked and the Ahi Tuna portion was very small considering the price...Prices seemed to be on the high end
The food at the Flying V was excellent though service was slightly slow and the prices quite high, even for an upscale resort restaurant. We were also somewhat disappointed in the views from inside the restaurant, especially given the outstanding location at the Loews Ventana Resort. However, even with those minor faults, we would certainly return to the Flying V though certainly not as a routine dining destination.
Great place to go for special occasion or high end eating. We keep going back.
Did not like you he “cow hide” chairs at all!! Needed to cover them with my napkins to stay seated!!!
Love this place!
The food for the price, was not good at all. It had no flavor and the portion sizes were extremely small. Our waitress was not very friendly either. I will not be coming back to this restaurant and i most definitely would not recommend it to anyone else.
always love the Flying V! we were celebrating a BD. the food was excellent, the service was wonderful Will be back again.
Enjoyed the chair side guacamole, ribs and filet. All were tasty and prepared to perfection.
Food was not good at least the ribeye steaks we had. Kids meals ie chicken tenders were burnt and the cheese pizza was not cooked all the way. Scallops were excellent.
The watermelon salad was missing something. The sauce on the filet was too salty. The olives on the martini tasted like they were too old
Our waiter, Cole, was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. He made great recommendations and was extremely polite. The rack of lamb was delicious!
Very good food and service. Enjoyed meeting the new manager.
I love the relaxed feel of this place. We had a window view. The steak was very tender and the sea bass that I had was very tasty. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly.
My wife and I really loved our salmon dinner and we loved the feeling of the restaurant. Especially enjoyed the views. The service was excellent and the server even brought my wife a special desert with a lot candle since it was her birthday! We enjoyed every minute of our evening! Thank you to the Flying V for making my wife's birthday extra special.
Enjoyed dining there two nights in a row. lst night in the restaurant 2nd night on the outside porch. Both nights service was great and the food Very Good.
