We had a quick brunch here and tried the huevos, benedict and breakfast burrito. All were excellent. We will go back.
Wait staff was not very friendly and food was just ok. We ordered the crab linguini and it was a bit fishy and salty. I would recommend something else.
Need more items on menu!!!
We had such a wonderful server. I can’t remember her name and feel a little bit bad about that, but she was absolutely top notch. After so long not eating out, this was a perfect place to go to try some new food and enjoy a really cute atmosphere. We will definitely be back and if you’re into mock tales, they have a fantastic menu. Every person we encountered was kind and looked like they were treated really well. We tipped far more than usual because this type of service and atmosphere is so rare in San Francisco.
Our server was absolutely wonderful and became my co-conspirator when I was taking care of the check underneath my girlfriends nose :D Our busboy was also wonderful, extremely attentive. The food I thought was exceptional in both quality and price! I also liked that they had mocktails as im doing Dry-July, lol.
Food was delightful and they've done a great job setting up tables in the walkway for safety!
Had been 2 times during pandemic, as they had such a cute outdoor dining area and food was good, drinks creative. This time around the food was not as good. Still it is a good destination, inside dining is nice. Beautiful
private dining room. Outside space is still quaint.
We’ve been eating at the fly trap for many years. This latest version is friendly, good food with good service. It’s a bit like the bar in the old sitcom, Cheers. It was an energetic, local crowd with everyone having a great time.
We had a great time! Amazing service!
This is hands-down my new favorite restaurant in SF! A total hidden gem. The vibe and ambiance, inside and out, are just unbeatable. Not to mention the yummy craft cocktails and delicious food- something for everyone! Can't wait to come back!
There was 8 of us who were celebrating our 50th High School reunion. The Fly Trap provided us with a separate room, great service, and a great meal. Thank you!
Amazing food, cocktails and service. Definitely going back to try their brunch.
Food was overpriced, but that’s normal for San Francisco. Super cute ambience.
Staff were very efficient and friendly. Our server, Jalabi (I’m so sorry I can’t remember her exact name, please forgive me) was fantastic. Efficient, knowledgeable about food and the wine we wanted. She didn’t hover but showed up at the right time to check in with us. Support staff were great.
We had Brussel sprouts (no bacon), gnocchi, and rib eye. All were delicious and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was low lighting but not so low you can’t read the menu. We didn’t visit the bar but it looked inviting.
Located around the corner from our hotel. We will definitely return.
Comfortable and relaxing environment. Has a good wine selection too.
Great experience. Good food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommended
Cozy spot. Friendly, fast, and efficient service. Fairly small menu but lots of good choices. Full service bar. Can get a little noisy at times. Overall a nice experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here, sitting outside in their adorable little alley way/garden with fun, whimsical decor. The food and service are both excellent. This was the first time I read about the history of the restaurant, going all the way back to the 1800's, and how it got it's name. Love it! The crispy brussels are some of the best I've ever had, and I've been obsessed with them since the 90's. The french onion soup, with their take being vegetarian (broth is usually meat based), was delicious. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and the sauce is great. Our mezcal cocktails went down real easy. The wine list is solid with a bit of fun in the choices. The chocolate mousse was the closest I've ever had to the one I had in Paris as a kid in the 80's - you know the one, that comes served in a huge goblet and you serve yourself out of there. It was really good, and it tasted like *that*. The other desserts sounded yummy, too, but we shared just the one which was the right choice for responsible adults. The hostess, our server and bus person were friendly, helpful and very good at their jobs, going above and beyond more than once during our time there. We will be back soon.
Love this place! Great drinks, fantastic food and very cool people running this lovely historical gem!
The place looks great, the server seem rushed , we order a bottle of wine and after 10 min the server said they don’t have it, we order the calamari, it was hard and dry overfried, we order the linguini with crab and wine sauce, the only flavor on the plate was the excessive amount of raw garlic and chili on it, signs of poor cooking skills, we also ordered the half roasted chicken, well the chicken wasn’t roasted, it was grilled on a flat top with oil, the mushroom sauce was poor in flavor and only 5 small pieces of mushroom on it, the potatoes where flavorless.
Overall overpriced overrated, small portions that seem a cheap approach to gain more from it.
We went there course of the history of the place but I believe the original owners wouldn’t be happy to see .
Honestly it was such a terrible experience. We waited over 30 minutes for our appetizers, we were never checked on, and after an hour and a half later we finally got our food and it was underwhelming to say the least. I will never go back and never recommend this place to anyone.
Their alley is a very cozy and somewhat romantic place to dine. Haven't eaten inside, but it looks equally cozy. Small menu, but we found our faves. This place rocks! Most servers are a little playful as well as helpful, which we LOVE. Great tasting drinks. We'll definitely be back. We've lived here almost 3 months and have been here 3 times. Love this place!
Very nice spot, very good food, a nice bar with good cocktails. Wine list has good selections in different price ranges.
roasted chicken was excellent..also the meatballs!
We enjoyed all aspects of our dinner at Flytrap last night and look forward to returning soon. Our waitress was very responsive and remembered every detail of our orders and requests. We thoroughly enjoyed this long-time tradition of San Francisco.
Friendly and delicious! There was a pretty big lag time between ordering our appetizer and our main dishes, our server didn't come back around to take our order until we were finished with the appetizer causing a pretty long wait for our food. Overall it was a great experience.
The team there is exceptional and the food couldn't be better. The duck croquettes are unreal - 4 per order is not enough! You can't stop eating them! We also had the rigatoni (delectable), the meatballs, and the smoked trout were all delicious as well. The lovely crew there, though, made the experience. The service was excellent - everyone was super friendly, prompt, and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed, including drinks! Thanks for a great experience!
I really enjoyed my meal. Server was conscious of my food allergies and the meal was delicious. Generous flavorful servings.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the FlyTrap. A great place for dinner
The staff was amazing, food and drinks! Well done!
Great neighborhood escape with very friendly staff.
Such a cute place!! The little alley is fantastic. The food was delicious. Eat here.
The noise was unbearable. Hard to hear the people at the table.
Brunch experience was lovely!
Our server “Brutus” was delightful and the food was delicious!
First time at The Fly Trap. We sat at one of the new outside tables which is a very lovely set up. The cocktail and wine were amazing. The service was amazing. The food was pretty good, some things better than others but good overall. Would definitely come back. Looking forward to sitting inside when Covid is not around. Cheers!
Sit at the bar. Food is average. Please start using Linen napkins. The restaurant is to nice to be using paper. She did a great job with the outside patio alley.
Fabulous place the food was fantastico!!!
Alley ambiance. Amazing pasta and mimosas. Beverage prices on the higher end
All of food I ordered was excellent-- the chicken was prepared perfectly.
