The Flatiron Room Ratings and Reviews
Nice place. Good place to enjoy Live music and drinks at bar. Which would explain why Bar was full and dining was not. Food was okay. Nothing memorable. But the live music was excellent and the performers are a true talent and joy to hear and experience. Thank you.
It is a nice quiet location. Good for a date you want to impress or for that special occasion you don't mind spending some money on. It is very pricey. We did not try the food as I checked the menu online before going and did not find it appetizing especially for the price. The drinks are pricey but if you are looking for a spot with options this is it.
Every time I go to the Flatiron Room it is a little bit of magic. The music, the drinks, the food, the lighting, the laid back staff, and -I'll say it again- the music all together create an experience worth revisiting. I've found the FR to be great for dates, meeting up with an old friend, double dates, girls get togethers, or even a calm dinner after a day running around the city. The food is great and the menu changes just enough to keep you from staying in too much of a routine.
This is an amazing venue - what a treat! The staff are all friendly and professional from the moment you walk in the door. There is a great assortment of the finest scotch/whisky/bourbon. The staff in the dining room are all very educated and made some great recommendations. The music was fantastic. I would recommend reservations - having a great table definitely makes the night!
Made to feel as a second class citizen. Ignored by wait staff - actually had three separate wait staff during service. Was place in the balcony and when asked if there are any other options was told no yet had another couple seated upstairs to be moved downstairs immediately. several tables did not have reserved signs and were still empty when we left.
Had high hopes, but will definitely encourage friends and co-workers to stay away.
Next time I will trust my gut and walk out before wasting my money.
This well-stocked whiskey bar has knowledgable and helpful staff to coach you through a terrific whiskey experience and the live jazz completes the cool vibe quite well. The music contributes to a relaxed vibe and is just loud enough to enjoy without having to yell across the table to chat with your neighbors.
Went here with a friend. Made a reservation and were still seated in the very back where we could hardly see the stage. The music trio sounded nice, so no complaints there. Ordered a cheese plate which was fine and very nice bottle of wine (over $100) that we gave time to breathe. The wine was undrinkable after 30 minutes and I brought it to the attention of the Manager. She did bring 2 glasses of the house wine to placate us, but it definitely wasn't enough to make up for being seated in back and not given the option to swap the entire bottle of wine for something else. Probably wouldn't go back.
made reservations here since the Flatiron Room came up on a search for dining and live music and was hoping to enjoy both for a birthday celebration. The host was rather brusque, but we were promptly seated. We were seated at a table near the performing stage and the tables in this area are extremely small. would have preferred a larger table, and perhaps if patrons are intending to dine as well as listen to music, they should be asked if they would prefer to be seated at a larger table. We made due however in "intimate" seating area. Based on the server's suggestion, we tried their mac and cheese offering, we also tried the short ribs, wild mushroom flatbread, and the shrimp and grits. The food was only so-so. As for the music, the musicians who started the new set shortly after we were seated, did not appear to enjoy performing at all and seemed to have no chemistry as an ensemble act and like the food was only so-so. While sitting there, we agreed we should have gone to Birdland instead. At least now we know.
My date and I had a wonderful time. We reserved a table and were seated immediately very close to the stage where there was a great jazz trio about to start. It felt very hip and had a great "New York" vibe that we both liked very much. It was intimate, felt a little upscale and romantic. It was great fun!
Probably one of the best place in town.. I would have give 5 stars anyday. I've been multiples time and it's one of my favorite place.
Unfortunately I had a reservation with my girlfriend at 10:15 pm and we were seated upstairs. And upstairs is definitely different than the rest of the place. Especially with a large group seated next to us.
Server was outstanding
Food was great
Host were lovely
Drinks were amazing
Overall this was a really excellent experience. I went with a business acquaintance of mine who is a scotch aficionado. He was very impressed with the selection. We decided to split a flight of 6 Highland scotches. There were a couple of rare ones and no misses in the group. Our server, Jose Vargas, was congenial, helpful, and patient. He was willing to explain the scotches and if he didn't know something he found the answer for us. We had the mac and cheese as a light snack to share with the scotch. It was a perfect accompaniment. The Jazz Trio were also very good though designed to be in the background. That worked well for having conversation but considering they played and sang very well it seemed a bit of a pity. In any case it added to the mood. I will be back. And I recommend this place highly.
Sarah was our hostess. She gave an excellent description of each whiskey flight. Very personable and friendly. We were 3 couples, the guys loved the whiskey, the girls enjoyed the cocktails. Next time we will have supper first so the whiskey will not hit so fast!
My favorite spot in the Flat Iron area. Great for after work drink in a quiet space or for date nights. The ambiance is classy and inviting, never too crowded. Never hard to get a seat or reservation, which is great for last-minute. I've gotten a table within a half-hour notice on weekends. Bar tenders make great craft cocktails (recommend blackberry gimlet!), and the live jazz is amazing. See a lot of people here on dates, or just friends getting a drink together. Just wish they played later into the night on weekends (they stop at 1 a.m.) but realize the spot is in an area that shuts down a bit earlier. I didn't actually get food, but Yelp made me select a rating. Sure it's good though since the drinks are.
The Flatiron Room should be great, but it just misses the mark. Why, when you have a (good) blues band playing, would you ruin the atmosphere by pumping out loud electronic dance music between their sets? What was billed as chimichurri steak bites bore no resemblance to any other chimichurri steak I've eaten. And the check at the end induced sticker shock.
