Birthday and promotion for husband
Great drinks and service. The marrow was good but the other food was fine. The cocktails were good and others in my party loved the whiskeys. For wine drinkers like me it was trickier but they were happy to let me taste quite a few until I found one I liked
The music was excellent, service outstanding and the value from the Restaurant Week options were great!
Super cute date spot! It felt like I was in a movie enjoying delicious cocktails, jazz and food. Highly recommend for a date night or even bringing out of town guests to give them the “NYC experience”
I had high hopes for this location because I LOVE their other restaurant Fine and Rare, but sadly this place is not to the same quality as Fine and Rare.
It could have just been an off night, we all have them, but the signature cocktail Smokey Old Fashioned wasn’t properly mixed (Fine and Rare makes them beautifully), the appetizers were delicious but then came the main course…. I ordered their signature dish of chicken and white cheddar waffles, first it came out cold and first time in my life I had to send back to the kitchen. When the second time it came out I think they were so concerned about getting me my food they didn’t season it😔
The staff was lovely and even though the food and drinks were not up to par, I still tipped 20% because the staff still need to make a living and after all we have been through you need to show kindness.
Im sorry to say, I will not be trying this location again but will definitely continue going to Fine and Rare.
Best restaurant ever
Go for the ambience.
This is a beautiful room with decent food, but it can’t seem to decide if it is a jazz club or a whiskey bar. The jazz trio was mediocre on a Wednesday night, and several of the things we asked for on the massive whiskey list were out of stock. This may just be symptomatic of recovery from COVID. I’d be more inclined to go to the bar instead of a table next time. The service was a little distracted but OK, though the place seems over- managed and has lost the hospitable vibe I remember from pre-COVID.
We went to the Flatiron Room for restaurant week and really enjoyed it. The food and service was outstanding, tables felt well spaced so that I didn't feel as if people were sitting directly on top of us, and we loved listening to the band during our meal. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the whiskys in our tasting flight and paced our meal very well. Overall a really enjoyable experience.
That was a good night with smooth life jazz music and delicious cocktails
Great place! We were celebrating our anniversary and everything was lovely. Great atmosphere, fantastic music, awesome drinks and food. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a relaxing evening away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Came for my husbands birthday. He loves whiskeys and loves trying new things. Very old New York, classy feel.
Food was delicious, drinks were amazing, dessert was great. The live music and atmosphere was perfect.
Amazing ambience, service, and the love music was absolutely amazing!! I will definitely recommend it to my friends.
Fabulous place! Highly recommend!
Fabulous!!! Great ambience amd music. Service excellent. I look forward to coming back.
The ambiance was great but our server, Pierre, was kind of rude to start with. He seemed to pointedly ignore our table at the beginning. Which was pretty disappointing since I took my mom there for her birthday specifically. After about 15 minutes of no greeting, finally the lady manager came to our table and asked for our drink order. She was nice, but about 5 minutes after, Pierre decided to finally come by our table and ask our drink order. Then an hour before our reservation was up, Pierre gives us our bill which made us once again feel very unwelcomed. Keep in mind there is two hour limit on the reservation, so Pierre's lack of attention kind of diminished our experience. Overall I will have to say the service was disappointing, and mainly due to Pierre. The food thankfully was good. However, not sure I would recommend this establishment.
What a wonderful evening. Listened to early 1900’s jazz and it transported me to bygone era that made us want for more. Truly amazing trio!!
Nice music, super-welcoming staff, collection of whiskey is out of this world. One of the best evenings in NYC.
I really wonderful experience. I’ll be back soon.
There was no AC and the place was empty and they sat us right in front of the stage. I want venues like this to succeed but this was not a pleasant experience for the $100 per person price.
Great place for live Jazz, good service and food is nice too
Wonderful drinks, fine food, excellent service and Ben & Friends were a joy to listen to (and watch).
Absolutely loved it! Definitely will be back again and again.
No air conditioning
Awesome dinner! Make sure you book your table during the time the live music is available! Try the truffle fries… unbelievably good!
Truffle Fries, Shrimp and Grits, Raviolis coupled with a smoky old fashioned, rose and jazzz.
Love FR. however the AC was not working and it was stuffy and humid inside. Not the experience I signed up for. They had said they were having trouble with it but they were meant to have a fan blowing which I definitely didn’t not feel. Food and service was great as always.
Music, great food and drink! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and had a fabulous time!
I have been here three times. Each time was quite good, but the Southern chicken with waffle was a bit dry. I really enjoy their whiskey flights, however, and the server was very knowledgeable and polite. The air conditioner broke just before we came so that was not nice, but probably a one off. The music was great with a low-key jazz trio. A very nice date place. It might be better to stick with “Northern“ food however.
The AC was broken and it was hot and muggy inside. The restaurant staff called me twice to confirm my reservation but did not have the courtesy to let me know that the AC has been broken for a week.
Excellent service! Really good collection of whisky. Great cocktails and good food
Went for a date night. Highly recommend the whiskey flights! Live band was excellent as well.
Loved this place! 10/10 would recommend for an intimate evening.
Only flaw in the evening was no AC on a very warm day. More sympathies to those servers that made our night very enjoyable. Music is loud enough to appreciate the vibe, but not so to the point where you can’t talk to another person. There’s a nice clubby feel and plenty of great house made cocktails, and the whiskey selection is extensive. Did not have entrees but a few appetizer selections that were savory and flavorful. A very nice experience that I will repeat.
Nice place, different and upscale. Menu very very limited and for that reason we will not go back again.
You come for the whiskey and guidance, not necessarily the food. The place is a favorite amongst my friends and I for a special evening out.
Nestled in off the street in a secluded back room makes for a cozy quaint spot to catch some love jazz and get some really well executed food. We were happily surprised at the quality.
Great place for whiskey lovers. I am not one, but my SO is, and he was impressed that the server was so knowledgeable about the whiskey menu! Usually only the bartenders are. I enjoyed the great cocktails myself. Miss Maybell played old timey early 1900s jazz numbers which were really cute and she was a very talented vocalist. Food was great, I liked everything that we ordered. There was a bit of a mix up at the end with the bill. The whiskey menu is so huge, there were multiple whiskeys that are named similarly and my SO was served a more expensive whiskey than he thought he ordered, although he loved it, didn’t regret it once he realized what the mix up was as he really enjoyed it. The server was very understanding of the mix up and let us try another whiskey on the house and even threw in a little gift glass from the restaurant. Great service and a great night!
Flatiron room remains a great place to go for whisky, cocktails, and good food. The staff is amazing and the atmosphere and live music have never disappointed.
I don't understand what's happened to this place. I put in a request to be seated in the middle of the room by the stage. A request I've literally done 10 times before. This request has always been honored. With a half empty space I get seated along the wall so my companion cannot really see the stage. Then, after being asked, literally 3 times, if we were eating, the first question out of the servers mouth was "are you eating?" haha..... ridiculous! Then, no explanation of the menu at all. I had to ask if they still even carried a port selection. Then, very focused on making sure that we knew there was a 2 hour limit. Really? We were seated at 9;30pm. Is the already half empty space going to get a rush at 11:30 pm with the current NYC closing regulations? Ummm, No. I'm in the hospitality business and this was embarrassing. I have no idea why owners don't train their managers and teams to understand and recognize who is going to spend money and who isn't. Who's a tourist and who isn't? Who's been there multiple times with a fairly consistently high check average and who isn't. The hospitality business isn't hard. We left in 45 minutes and I felt compelled to write this review so what's that tell you about my experience. And the $15 bowl of French fries was comical! Good luck.
