Fantástica experiencia un ambiente bohemio y elegante que nos retrae a otras épocas
Muy buen servicio
Awesome experience for my bday celebration! The GM brought out a birthday dessert, which was a nice touch.
Amazing place with live Jazz and an excellent whisky list.
Great venue and atmosphere. Loved the jazz scenario and the feel of the entire establishment. Food was awful. The braised pork tasted like it was brined for much too long, the fried chicken was bland and tasteless and the deviled eggs had an odd flavor. Overall I would recommend for drinks and some great live jazz music...as far as food...go somewhere else. This place is a good evening starting point.
Amazing ambient, very good live music!
The atmosphere was traveling you to a different era. The food was decent. Overall experience fulfilling.
Dry food. So so service
Went for Thanksgiving Dinner - really lovely room and the Jazz trio was a bonus. Service was spectacular.
Spectacular in every way, especially for thanksgiving. Never a bad meal or a disappointing time here! Visit every chance I can.
When I imagined seeing live jazz and my dreams coming true, this met all of those expectations! The tables even had those small little ambient lamps that make you feel good inside.
The Flatiron Room's ambience was outstanding. It is a gorgeous, 1920s ish jazz bar that is adorable and cozy (perfect for late fall and winter in NYC) that my parents, husband, and sisters visited to celebrate my 30th birthday. We were there early so it wasn't too crowded, but the tables are packed tight as I imagine it does get crowded for the live music. It is extremely pricey and the food portions are small (we joked the cheese plate of 3 was for ants), so I recommend going for drinks and a snack rather than a full meal. Sarah our first waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgable. We had a second server (forget his name) who wasn't quite as personable but we still enjoyed our experience nonetheless. Our only complaint was actually about the hostess, she was not friendly whatsoever when greeting us and did not offer to check any of our coats or bags, knowing how tight the space was and some of us came from work that would've been a nice gesture. Overall we really enjoyed it and will be back!
In the pact between diner and restaurant, we thought we had done it all correctly. Reserved well in advance, confirmed as requested, appeared right on time, looked suitably attired. I had noted on the reservation that it was an anniversary dinner. We drink bourbon and wanted a supper-club type experience and that led me to the Flatiron Room. The occasion was noted merely in hopes of getting a decent table. Instead, we were seated in Siberia in a small banquette near the door next to a group of drunk younger people. We were prepared to ignore, but after not-so-subtly making fun of we OK Boomers, they then engaged us in conversation about "innies" and "outies." By that point a move would have been awkward, even though the server later said he almost (but didn't) suggest it. I actually blame the host station more for not reading that situation better and/or dissing us as suspected Midwesterners. Plus, we were so far from the live music, we had to sit forward and crane left. We got comped a lovely sherry with our anniversary truffle, but the spell was long burst.
The service and food was amazing. The absolute only thing I wish was different was the spacing. The tables are so close together that I couldn't move. I'm not a large person, but it was so tight that the gentleman at the table behind me had to point out that my hair was almost in the candle on his table. Seating was very uncomfortable and not somewhere I could stay long. But, the food and service was amazing.
We had a great time last night. The staff are very helpful and atmospheres are great. It was a rainy night but still crowded in the house. Love Mac and cheese!
I was seated at a table where there was partial viewing. I mean there is nothing for them to do. Some booths in general are situated where it's hard to see the band anyway. They are set back. My viewing in particular had a ladder in the way where they climb up to get extra bottles of alcohol. So I was peeking to see the stage between the ladder steps and such. Also, the waiters kept stacking the menus in my view; they just didn't realize but my waitress kept removing them. She knew better. All in all it was a quite different experience I felt like I was in the 1920's or maybe at a nice lounge in the Catskills, back in the day. The drinks and food were all fine. The noise level is a little loud since people are talking. The band is background entertainment for everyone honestly. All in all I thought it was a nice experience, definitely something different. We left after two sets....seemed to be the typical turnover there with others too.
The service was attentive but not intrusive, the cocktails were superb and the small bites too. It’s a perfect spot for an aperitif or an after dinner, the jazz live music was divine as the atmosphere! We’ll come back for sure.
Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday, he loves whiskey/bourbon and I love live music so it was a great combination. The food wasn't anything to write home about- not a huge variety but enough to keep one satiated. The experience was wonderful though. No one rushed us and we were really able to enjoy the ambiance of the flatiron room.
The music and whiskeys were great. We did not like the food. The cheese plate for 4 plate was so super small for ($30).
The service was excellent. They have a live band that plays jazz music. The tables near the stage are quite small for two people. Almost too small, so I would recommend as a spot to enjoy a nice whiskey. They do have booths that have larger tables for groups. The whiskey selection is quite exquisite and the vibe had an elegant, western feel. The hostess was very pleasant and tries to get you seated as soon as possible. Absolutely make reservations in advance. The place is poppin! They have a nice selection of whiskey flights and the server does an excellent job of explaining each selection. The band was okay; equivalent to background music and it looks nice. Overall, I would recommend this place for a business drink, a date or getting a drink with a friend, but not really for a meal (but not because the food is not delicious). I look forward to my next visit.
This was for my 31st birthday. Waiter was very non attentive. Food was not good. Order the steak, salmon and Mac and cheese. The only plate decent enough to eat was the salmon. Steak was very salty and the Mac and cheese was super sweet tasting with the overload of apples on it. To top it off, restaurant refused to accept a MasterCard gift card. Very disappointing experience all around.
Great ambience and menu. Music was splendid. Just wish the sets were longer
Excellent place in NYC for a nightcap. Huge variety of whisky. Suggest trying the flights if you are a novice. Great ambience and live music, servers are courteous and friendly
Everyone friendly. Food was delicious. Jazz not too loud
Muy buena música, la selección de whiskyes es espectacular y la comida excelente, el lugar con muy buen ambiente!
Everything was wonderful we had a great experience. We had a good time and enjoy the musical acts.
Loved the Ambiance, starting with my smoking Rye cocktail. The service in the bar was excellent! We wanted to hear live jazz and have a good meal so this was a real treat. We enjoyed a dip and duck confit. My friends liked thier chicken and duck entrees. I was the only one disappointed with the entree as it was far too spicy to pair with the wine and was not described as such. We also loved the chocolates for dessert.
While I understand having a limited menu with the entertainment an addition or two would have been nice. The wine list is also good, could have some more moderate offers, and not much on the menu complimented with wine except the beef and duck.
This truely is a whiskey lovers dream. What a variety! And the music was awesome!
The appetizer was good and The
Dinner was not good for me
had the salmon was over
Cook and salty I ask for Medium and my date
Ask hers blacken and they assumed that I
Wanted mine the same way I had no choice
But to have it like that didn’t want my date to eat by her self my second time at the restaurant from Florida I come to my city
Often don’t know if I come back . Loved the ambience and the music
This place is amazing, I totally recommend it. The band was really nice, the food was really good. The Mac & cheese was Incredible, the hummus cauliflower was good and the gnocchi were okay.
Went for a dinner date with my husband and it was incredible!! The food was delicious and the ambiance was great!
Not about the music at all. Band played it super low key to fit the vibe of the bar. Was disappointed they could not really go for it. Whisky was okay but overpriced. Overall, I would say give this one a miss.
The Flatiron Room delivered on music, ambiance, and Business Team Bonding Fun!
Really have not eaten here. Great choice of spirits. Was able to socialize with our friends. Music was good but not overpowering to the point where it affected conversation. Highly recommend
We will definitely be back! We went here for our first time for our anniversary dinner. We had a nice private booth in the back corner that gave us a great view of the whole restaurant. The live music was lovely and not too loud to have a conversation. The drink selection was of course fantastic and the staff were very knowledgeable of their options. We had the braised pork and steak tacos - both fabulous. We ordered truffles for dessert yum!!) and they also brought an additional plate complimentary dessert goodies and wished us a happy anniversary. Thanks for make a special night that much more memorable!
The food and overall was experience was amazing. I can not wait to go back!
The music was fantastic. Will definitely go back
The place is good more for dining and drinking rather than Jazz. We went there for Jazz and weren’t satisfied. We were sitting in the back of the room, couldn’t hear musicians, but people chatting. And music the band was playing was more background music and soft rather than real Jazz session.
Food was most quite good and some so-so (my duck was overcooked). Wine was excellent. Advice is go if you want to dine fine but not for Jazz.
Outstanding evening - highly recommend this little gem. If bourbon or scotch are your thing, look no further. They have the absolute best collection. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the service was great. Best find in NYC!
The Braised Pork is unsurpassed. I came for the music and came away with a better appreciation for the food selection. I will be back for both again.
A lovely old saloon style atmosphere, excellent blues music and very good food. Celebrated an anniversary and the staff was very good about bringing a special dessert. Portions are a bit small but very tasty. I was there with guests visiting from overseas who have been everywhere and they liked it a lot. Keep in mind that while the music was quite good, it's more of a background show while you're dining. It's not a place for jazz purists but the whole experience is very satisfying.
Server was pushy for us to order more drinks and plates. He was very knowledgeable about cocktail list and gave honest recommendations. However, he kept asking if we wanted anymore plates after ordering two and insisted on us looking at the dessert menu. We would’ve stayed longer and ordered more cocktails but choose to leave because server was too pushy with food and creating a larger bill. It was a Tuesday and the bar was slow but that does mean he should’ve behaved in this manner.
