The Flatiron Room Ratings and Reviews
My date and I had a wonderful time. We reserved a table and were seated immediately very close to the stage where there was a great jazz trio about to start. It felt very hip and had a great "New York" vibe that we both liked very much. It was intimate, felt a little upscale and romantic. It was great fun!
Probably one of the best place in town.. I would have give 5 stars anyday. I've been multiples time and it's one of my favorite place.
Unfortunately I had a reservation with my girlfriend at 10:15 pm and we were seated upstairs. And upstairs is definitely different than the rest of the place. Especially with a large group seated next to us.
Server was outstanding
Food was great

Drinks were amazing
Overall this was a really excellent experience. I went with a business acquaintance of mine who is a scotch aficionado. He was very impressed with the selection. We decided to split a flight of 6 Highland scotches. There were a couple of rare ones and no misses in the group. Our server, Jose Vargas, was congenial, helpful, and patient. He was willing to explain the scotches and if he didn't know something he found the answer for us. We had the mac and cheese as a light snack to share with the scotch. It was a perfect accompaniment. The Jazz Trio were also very good though designed to be in the background. That worked well for having conversation but considering they played and sang very well it seemed a bit of a pity. In any case it added to the mood. I will be back. And I recommend this place highly.
Sarah was our hostess. She gave an excellent description of each whiskey flight. Very personable and friendly. We were 3 couples, the guys loved the whiskey, the girls enjoyed the cocktails. Next time we will have supper first so the whiskey will not hit so fast!
My favorite spot in the Flat Iron area. Great for after work drink in a quiet space or for date nights. The ambiance is classy and inviting, never too crowded. Never hard to get a seat or reservation, which is great for last-minute. I've gotten a table within a half-hour notice on weekends. Bar tenders make great craft cocktails (recommend blackberry gimlet!), and the live jazz is amazing. See a lot of people here on dates, or just friends getting a drink together. Just wish they played later into the night on weekends (they stop at 1 a.m.) but realize the spot is in an area that shuts down a bit earlier. I didn't actually get food, but Yelp made me select a rating. Sure it's good though since the drinks are.
The Flatiron Room should be great, but it just misses the mark. Why, when you have a (good) blues band playing, would you ruin the atmosphere by pumping out loud electronic dance music between their sets? What was billed as chimichurri steak bites bore no resemblance to any other chimichurri steak I've eaten. And the check at the end induced sticker shock.
We make a reservation at 12:30 am after dinner. We arrive and 10 minutes later the jazz grupo finished to play. It Is very unrespectful for a costumer. I think the last reservation time must be at least one hour before the place will close, so you can enjoy at least one hour of jazz.
Appetizer/main course , ambiance, service and the band that was playing was all good. The dessert was just ok, nothing to desire. I brought my husband here for his birthday. I called in advance to ask if they can put a candle on the cake/dessert. The woman on the phone said ok and was pleasant to deal with. But unfortunately that did not happened. They just brought the dessert, but no candle, and didn't feel like complaining. Disappointing.
But overall, a good experience.
This was my first time at the Flatiron room and it was unbelievably good. The atmosphere is most striking with cozy seating, live music, low lights and the lit up bottles. The waiter was amazing and knowledgeable about the whiskey. The food was different (bone marrow!) and mouth watering. We were there for 3 hours and never felt rushed. It was a great experience. I can't wait to go back.
Got in late from our flight and looking for a place we could get a good meal and relax. Was a few blocks from hotel and couldn't have been happier. Great live jazz music; over 1000 whiskeys to sample, very knowledgeable staff both on the whiskeys, but also on the dinner. They asked the pertinent questions to help my wife and daughter decide which of three dinner choices they were torn between. Would definitely eat here again - besides I have 994 more whiskeys to try!
