food was cold ,no salads ,no soups no atmosphere, the waitress had no personality,is hard to take a taxi get there and nothing happened ,the place look run down ,glass should be clean floors bathrooms etc
The whiskey class, Luxury Whiskeys, was fun. We really enjoyed the Whiskey & Cheese class as well. We always love the live jazz and atmosphere for a nice dinner. This is and their sister restaurant Fine & Rare are two of our favorite spots. Dinner was nice but dessert was not worth it.
we were fitted right under the stage and it was too noisy to enjoy the night
The atmosphere and service are wonderful, but the food was really terrible. We left most things only partially eaten and were surprised by some details, like no hot beverages. We suggest sitting at the bar and enjoying the music, but skipping the food.
First time here and we loved it! From to of town so wanted something that had an old school jazzy NYC vibe and this place fit the bill but was still super hip and fun.
Menu was great and we all enjoyed our meals immensely - steak tacos, salmon, and duck were all great.
Ordered the traditional bourbon flight which was super cool way to try 6 different varieties. Cocktails were also delicious and our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive.
Music was a bit loud for us to be able to chat but we sat in the back and it worked perfectly. Got the best of both worlds that way.
The restaurant has a great ambience, very good food and jazz live music, however it’s quite noisy (people talking loudly) and service was very very slow, hence the low review.
Great singer and guitarist. Amazing Whiskey collection.
Full of tourists
We stopped in for drinks before and after having dinner somewhere else because we had a previous reservation elsewhere. This was a FIND!!! Beautiful venue! Awesome crafted drinks- delicious, original and beautiful. Very professional and hospitable staff. Gorgeous, transporting ambiance. Live music- we saw two jazz bands which are not really my thing but they were amazing. This was a completely transporting experience. We will definitely back for the food which looked amazing.
Great atmosphere, food and drink was good and good service
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I asked the restaurant specifically to reserve a table close to the stage. However, we had one of the farthest tables to the stage. We were rather close to the bar area. This has been disappointing.
Staff was nice and attentive. Food was fine. It got too noisy around 9pm and we decided this was time to leave already. We couldn’t really enjoy the live music.
Overall, we had a mediocre evening.
We had a flight of whiskeys that was amazing and diverse! And then moved to bourbon and scotch. Our waiter was very knowledgable and helpful! Food was very good but the drinks were our main focus. Delicious! Would definitely return
We are always on the hunt for new spots to listen to jazz, and The Flatiron Room did not disappoint. What an amazing ambiance!
Very, very good. Speakeasy feel, smaller plates so that the food doesnt interested with your drinking. Love this place
Had a great time at this place music was wonderful service and food was great can’t wait to come back very soon
Food and drinks were great- but our waiter kind of left more to be desired. He didn’t know anything about the food menu, which was unfortunate because we were torn between a lot of things and looking for guidance.
I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was new- but when he walked out out of his shift and just said “goodnight” on his way out the door, we were pretty displeased.
He could’ve at least come by and let us know he was leaving and that someone would come take care of us. It was kind of weird- definitely negatively impacted our experience overall.
Overall great place for cocktails. Do not go here for food. Service was nice but slow. I would go back for drinks for sure.
Amazing music, drinks on point, food was delicious and well presented on the plate. I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now and it always has impressed me.
Fabulous setting, great food and music. Loved the place so much , I wen back the next evening!!!
Sarah was awesome and the food was outstanding. We’ll be back again and again whenever we visit the City.
Reviews are accurate. Mediocre food, good whisky and wine list, great space and I had good service on a slow night. Music wasn’t good—piano and vocalist doing a sort of 1920s Jazz thing that might appeal to tourists. Fine for a drink at the bar but wouldn’t make an evening out of it.
Food was great! And the live Jazz and excellent drinks made for a spectacular date night.
The music and ambiance was lovely and a lot of fun however the food and service was not good. I got the spinach gnocchi and it was dry with no sauce, had no flavor, and they were hot gnocchi pieces over cold vegetables so overall it was not a good experience and I had to send it back. The staff was very nice about it and did not charge us however it was still really disappointing. We also ordered a Bourbon tasting flight and while our server was friendly, every pour was uneven, giving us a tiny tiny bit of a few of the bourbons and then over pouring other ones on the list. It was strange and for such a high price we expected a much more professional set up. This place is way overpriced for the service and just not good. I would not go back here again.
Fantastic night out! The food was incredible ( steak entree and desert!), the ambience was romantic and the decor absolutely special. We loved it!
The food, the ambiance, THE BOURBON TASTING WERE OUTSTANDING.
The food, the service and the band were outstanding.
Cocktails were fantastic, although expensive. Food left much to be desired.
Food was not the best very bland. Dessert was good and the wine selection was really good.
The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The performers were amazing!
We went there for a night of music and dinner with a few friends but were seated in a booth where we couldn’t see the band whatsoever.
Was a bit too noisy at times from talking noise from patrons at the bar. Made it different to hear music at times
Nice place to hear top notch Jazz with a wide selection of drink. Excellent food.
The ambiance was nice the service was good although I had to look around a few times for another drink. Their specialty drinks are nothing special, really not the best tasting actually. So I stuck to wine. I had the vegetarian gumbo, it was alright flavor wasn’t all there, but my partner enjoyed his fried chicken under glass which only brings two pieces of chicken and a biscuit. The jazz band playing were great. Overall I would go back.
I would only go back for the drinks and live music. The food was nothing special, and the vegetarian meals both had tofu in it. I spoke with my waiter about my dislike for tofu, even as a vegetarian, and after finding out the pasta is literally made with tofu, I went for the gumbo. Only as I am eating I discover this two had tofu, and was completely lacking in flavor. Not going back for food, but the atmosphere was nice and the musicians were great.
The service and the vibes were both incredible, but the food left a lot to be desired. The chicken and steak bites we ordered were rubbery & tough to eat -- the chicken especially was flavorless. Brussel sprouts were over scorched. I don't think we'll be back for food, but might grab a drink at the bar just to listen to the music.
Ambiance and music are definitely worth the visit. Seems to go back to the roaring 20s, atmosphere is just magic with suffused lights and precious bottles on the wall. Special mention to the ladies room btw. Anyway, maybe it was because of the nyc restaurant week deal, maybe they are not so strong on the vegan options (appreciate the effort though), however all I can say about food is portions were way too scarce and did not taste great. Just giving an example on dessert (part of the deal): serving size of sorbet was literally half an ice cream spoon.
That being said: service was remarkable, got a very well done suggestion and explanation on the whiskey flight (quite never had it before, I really enjoyed it thanks to waiter Juan), entertainment was delightful at just the right noise level, overall a great experience. Little bit disappointed for food, but I would say I recommend a visit.
Great time. Nice intimate live jazz vibe with outstanding Whiskey and cocktails selection.
Live entertainment and vocalist did great.
The bison & bacon meatloaf was outstanding.
Overpriced cramped venue with mediocre food . Tourist trap
Fantastic music and atmosphere
I went during restaurant week so I was able to get the three course meal and the 3 drink pairing.. the piano encrusted portabelloushrooms andcthe chicken on the bed of cheesey orzo was great. The smokey drink was fun to watch and it is strong. The live music was in 2 45 minute sets and since I love jazz it was good to hear, but not do loud that a couldntvtalk to my hubby. Overall it was a great experience
