The Fitz Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our family came here for dinner (4 adults and 2 kids under 5) and we had an amazing experience. The food was great and not as expensive as some other places in Vail Village. Our sever was very attentive despite being the only person there at the time (we ate at 5pm). The interior design is fun and entertaining - we will definitely go here again!
We ate here for dinner one night on our trip to Vail. The atmosphere was very casual and the food was tasty. I ordered the pasta, which wasn't at all what I was expecting, but still ok. My wife ordered the burger and fries and they were delish. I would recommend this place if you're staying at the Manor Hotel. Otherwise, there are plenty of options closer to Vail Village that have a bit more menu items to choose from.
My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and it was fantastic! Though the restaurant was almost completely empty, it was great because we received excellent service and it felt like a more intimate experience. The food was fantastic and very good portion sizes. We ordered a bottle of wine which was kind of pricey but for the occasion it was acceptable and it was very good. I raved about the experience to my friends the next day so I would definitely recommend and hopefully go back the next time we are in Vail.
We went to the Fitz before the final performance of the Vail Dance Festival. The main restaurant was closed so all seating was on the bar side. It was quite busy as many others were having food before attending the festival performance. The menu was perfect for some lighter fare before the festival and the food was excellent. My husband managed to spill red wine on his white shirt and they took the shirt and had it laundered while we were at the performance - definitely above and beyond great service. We will definitely be back both for the service and the menu selections.
Extremely surprised at how this place compared to some of our favorites in the village. There is some "less fancy" food done really spectacularly as well as some more inspired items that rival Sweet Basil etc. I strongly suggest taking a walk from the village and giving it a try!
We had the most enjoyable evening sitting on the patio. The food was amazing! There were deliciously unusual flavors-with fresh herbs and a black salt from Hawaii and a cherry reduction that was out of this world!
The staff went out of their way to place an additional table on the deck so my husband and I could enjoy the beautiful summer evening. They didn't know it, but it was our anniversary and they made so special!
They staff is friendly and warm and service was perfect.
This restaurant has undergone a complete change in its decor and ambiance. This is a welcome change and has been carried out very skillfully. We had very good food with personalized service on their terrace. There is some overlap with hotel guests passing through, but not enough to be a problem - this is a family resort with a nice level of constant activity.
This is the perfect spot for a pre-Bravo drink and nibble. I ordered the burrata with heirloom cherry tomatoes. The burrata was totally off the charts, as good as any I've had from Puglia where they make burrata that seems inspired by the gods. The heirlooms were a little under-ripe and therefore tough. It would have been a much better dish with slices of sweet, tasty heirlooms grown in dirt instead of the faux kind of cherry tomatoes.
Danny greeted us. So welcoming and filled with good humor. The service could not have been better. Kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Excellent way to start a concert evening. Will definitely be back soon.
This restaurant was incredible, the outdoor patio is gorgeous with a great scenic view. Our waitress Liz couldn't have been better. She was very accommodating and our meal was excellent. We started with a couple of the bruschettas which were very creative combinations. The watermelon salad was also very enjoyable bringing even more unique flavor combinations together. My husband had the chicken with a corn quinoa salad that he also loved. We honestly wanted to try everything on the menu it was too hard to pick - the chef was fantastic. I especially loved his use of coarse sea salt which our waitress informed us he brought back from Hawaii. If you're in Vail definitely make a point to eat here, you won't be disappointed .
This hidden gem in the Manor Vail Lodge is excellent. The local food is exceptional. The service was some of the best we had all week in Vail. We enjoyed our lamb and bison but the beet salad was by far our favorite. Entrees priced fairly. Wine list also priced fairly and great options available.
We will definitely go back when in Vail again. Only thing I'd suggest is dimming the lights a little. Did enjoy the old ski videos. (Yes, we laughed at some of the ski outfits, the very one's we used to wear!)
We dined here for the first time for our annual trip to Vail. It was a little hard to find since the parking lot is gated, but after a call to the hostess, we were able to enter the lot without a problem. The room was nice with the tables generously spaced - the roaring fire added to the ambiance. The Fitz has a good Children's menu that is fairly priced. We had the calamari appetizer - very good. The adult menu could have been larger in my opinion -- but, we both decided to order the Buffalo rib eye steak entree. When served, it looked amazing -- a big juicy steak with a fresh salad accompaniment. Looks deceived us - the steak was really fatty (we love rib eye which is a fatty cut - but this was off the charts). The salad was heavily salted - really heavily salted -- did the top pop off the top of the shaker when the chef was salting it?? Weird. I ate mine anyway but my husband didn't. We didn't bother to complain since it was late and we were just too tired. We might consider going back, but I wouldn't order this dish again. And, if anything else came with the same level of salting, I would send it back next time.
Meal was above average, not outstanding. We had burgers for the entree. The appetizers were the best part...Brussels sprouts and a superfood salad. The service was underwhelming. Waitress was nice, but she disappeared from the dining area for extended periods of time. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and it's a small venue anyway. Based on the food, I would try this place again. Hopefully, the service issue was isolated with the individual waitress.
We stopped here on Christmas night. We were looking for a place where we could celebrate the day with some top-quality food, but where it would also be ok for our kids to be in their comfy car clothes. This couldn't have been more perfect for us. A great bar menu and some interesting entrees made my husband and I feel the meal was up to the occasion, and as for the kids, well, my son said it was the best burger he's had in Colorado. The staff was so friendly and welcoming to us, even though we were late customers on a holiday, and so overall it was truly a great experience. We'll definitely be back on our next I-70 journey!
Pleasantly surprised to see the renovated Fitz Bar and Restaurant. Very cool industrial modern spaces. They need just a bit of art or rugs and better lighting to warm the place up. Food is high end pub food. New menu with burgers and salads (same menu for bar and restaurant). The old Fitz quesadilla was not on the menu (please bring that back for the kids). Service was quite rushed and the timing was slightly off for food delivery. I have a feeling the wait staff was working the bar AND the restaurant. We received 4 out of the 5 meals we ordered, and the server did not return to check on us. We finally went up to the bar and asked for the missing meal (which had been forgotten) and they delivered and comp'd it so that was nice. I would definitely go back there and give it another try.
We vacation in Vail often and generally stick to a short list of restaurants we've cultivated over the years. We found The Fitz on Open Table, and with no reviews, took a chance...so glad we did! The food was fabulous...fresh, cooked to perfection, & well presented. Started with the beet and goat cheese salad and the burrata flat bread....the 2 alone would have been a meal. We then followed with the grilled cheese with date spread...delicious...and the grilled chicken sandwich...also great. For dessert we enjoyed the carrot cake served in a jar. The Fitz is a newly renovated, attractive space in Manor Vail, located near Golden Peak, and easily accessible using the in town bus. Choose to dine either in the large bar area with table seating or the dining room with mountain views. TVs are available in both spaces. It opens at 3 pm for apres ski and continue service through the dinner hour. We will be returning. Highly recommend.
