Casual atmosphere.food was really good and some fun, unique choices. It was a little hard to find if you are not staying nearby.
Had a hard time finding it: we drove and didn’t know it was within Manor Vail building. Called and got recording saying they were closed. What?! They called right back to say all was good and we then had to be buzzed in to Manor Vail then buzzed into the garage (new to me). Finally got there about 8:30 for our 8:15 reservation. The place was empty. Two other tables cleared out after we arrived and we were the only ones in the restaurant which always feels weird. Service was attentive and food was straightforward. Think it must be more hopping apres ski. Wouldn’t go back for dinner.
The meal was excellent with attentive service. Dry-rubbed wings were some of the best I've had. Salmon was wonderful as well. Great restaurant in Vail with parking.
Small, but very comfortable place. The staff could not have done more to make our evening enjoyable. Nice respite from big Vail restaurants. Highly recommend
Fun place, really great service and good food/drinks. A little bit of a challenge to find and park, but still would recommend. The Brussels appetizer was the bomb.
Very casual, lots of families, a bit noisy. Your local hangout with a twist: the very best Brussels sprouts cooked with pancetta, peppers and balsamic. Generous dessert portions which was helpful in sharing the s’mores selection of marshmallow and chocolate.
I would say that this was the best service we have had in the US across 2 years. The service was casual but friendly , helpful and fast.
Atmosphere was perfect for dinner with our 2 children
Reasonably priced for Vail, easy to get a reservation and free onsite evening parking. The food needs is OK but needs to be taken to the next level. The cocktails are good and have witty names. The wine list is a bit basic.
Wings and Smores are outstanding
We had a great meal at The Fitz. We were expecting casual, and this place is cool. The brussel sprouts were off the charts good, the sous vide wings were amazing and my burger was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend catching a meal here when you are in Vail.
An unexpected gem! Excellent service and hearty food and deserts. Definitely going back for the Mac & Cheese and the S’mores!
The Fitz was a great spot to have a casual dinner while we were in Vail. It's in the Manor Vail Hotel so maybe that's why it was so not crowded, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for good creative comfort food. Very nice wait staff as well.
My husband and I dined at The Fitz for New Years Eve. I made a reservation months in advance and was called about 2 weeks before NYE by the restaurant to collect my deposit for a prefix dinner for $125. At that point it was going to be hard to find another reservation so I kept this reservation and paid the $125/person. The dinner was sub-par. Very basic salad, appetizer, and main dish. I had "lemon thyme" chicken.. which came in a beef au jus sauce. Very strange and unappetizing. They served one option for dessert... a chocolate cake that tasted like it has been dropped in a sink. Almost every table we saw bussed had full slices of chocolate cake left. Maybe that should have been a clue that dessert was NOT working for them. Our waitress was fairly useless and didn't even say hello when she approached our table initially. However, she got a $50 tip because the restaurant included a 20% gratuity on our bill. Needless to say paying over $300 for a disappointing dinner for two was not a GREAT end to our 2017.
I would NOT suggest the Fitz for a special occasion. Maybe their normal menu is better, but for a small restaurant it should be necessary to set a prefix for a holiday.
We loved The Fitz Bar & Restaurant! The dining room was beautiful and had a lovely view of the mountain and holiday lights outside. Service was terrific and my family enjoyed their meals. We went early so it was pretty quiet. We enjoyed the Brussels sprout app, halibut, chicken breast entree and my kids loved their kids’ steak and chicken tenders. Would go back next time in Vail!
Bad quality, written Salud tomatoes with old mixed greens ,awful elk ossobuco ,hard and reheated, cream with some risotto inside worse risotto ever , ,just a bad experience.
Great meal, innovative food and an overall great dining experience.
A great cozy restaurant and bar. The hamburger's were outstanding and so was the service. This is a perfect place for an Apres ski drink and bite to eat.
Great burger on a pretzel bun, yummy Bloody Mary, good service even though there was a private party going on. Don't think they ever checked me in however because I never got my points.
Nice place for a casual meal. Food was tasty, but limited menu.
Great dining ore.. Vail Dance Festival. Park at Manor Vail. Short walk to GRFA.
We could not find the restaurant so we called 10xs and No answer!! But once found great dinner
Was awesome! Somewhat off the beaten path over in Manor Vail but well worth the 5-10 minute walk. The patio overlooking Ford Park and Gore Creek is wonderful place for summer dining. The hand crafted cocktails were amazing and the food was very very good. We had the heirloom tomato bruschetta, English pea salad and chicken. Everything was delicious and on point with their farm to table offerings. I would easily pick this location over Mountain Standard.
Fun menus and very attentive management. Great food presentation. The heirloom tomato bruschetta is a fantastic appetizer and the Boulder Chicken is to die for. Don't attempt to share, you'll want your own!
Early reservation at 5 in order to get to concert at 6. Not crowded, but service slow. Slow to get drink order, very slow to get food order. But it all worked out and the food and service, after the slow start, was great. Appetizer was hummus, enough for 2 and delicious! It was served in a totally unexpected way, and was extremely flavorful. We both had burgers, cooked exactly as ordered and also delicious. We will definitely go back.
Ive eaten here a few times over the last 2 weeks-It is close to Bravo, our classical music festival here in Vail, convenient. They had a VERY OFF night and can't handle a crowd. We had our apps brought to us-and it was burnt, then they brought our app out again, and it was the wrong one! I had to get up and look for someone who was managing the restaurant. We finally got the right one after 45 minutes. Then dinner finally showed up, salad with salmon, which was totally raw in the center.......when we sat down, we specifically said we had 1 1/2 hours to eat and walk out to make the show...we ended up running to get there on time. Oh, once we found the manager, he was nice, but the waitress want so nice! The comped the appetizer.
It was an aggravating dining experience
This was a great find as we eat out a lot in Vail and have never run across this. Clayton was an exceptional waiter and the food was great.
Too much salt and other seasonings overwhelmed flavor of food. High prices not justified by quality of food.
Wonderful place, great for families but also for adults only, servers are amazingly nice and attentive. Food is awesome!
Waited 30 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Waitress got our order wrong. Food was expensive and mediocre.
Terrible experience. A one and only event. Would never go again.
Fun place after a concert
Poor service. Food is usually good but tonight average. Not going back for awhile.
Restaurant was a little quiet but so was most of Vail due to time of season. Food was very good, waitress was very good and very accommodating to our 3 kids and us. Loved the decor and the view is unbeatable. Would definitely return and would check out the bar area.
We selected The Fitz while on vacation for dinner. It was a delightful experience. The menu is not large, but all of the entrees sounded very creative and enticing. The butternut squash ravioli was the absolute best I've ever had.
We ordered several small plates and enjoyed every one of them.
Very nice place. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get there on the free bus. Really great service and food. Recommended!
One of the best views in Vail, paired with modern comfort food. The chef creates a menu of classics with a twist. It's the last bus stop in Vail, off the beaten path and despite the great food and drinks, not crowded.
Surprised it wasn't busier. Bar area is very comfortable.
Salads beautiful, tasty, healthy.
Attentive staff.
Great place. Food was also great. The flatbreads are must try!
Second time dining here with family. What a hidden gem! Easy parking in Manor Vail Lot just outside the restaurant. We came back for the yummy wings and this time had delicious onion rings too - both with homemade pickles. One of us had the steak special which was delicious and we had two of the salads on the menu and they were yummy. The atmosphere is comfy and nice ski- vibe with cool videos on giant screens and mellow music playing. Last year there was a live guitarist. Our server Payton was attentive and super delightful . We will gladly return when we are back in Vail.
