The Fireside Restaurant, Waterfront Dining
Fine dining experience and a thoroughly knowledgeable sommelier. Wonderful time overlooking the harbor.
Thanks so much for leaving your comments and we're delighted that you enjoyed your time with us. We hope you're able to return and we look forward to seeing you again!
Had reservations, were also staying at inn. Were seated very quickly, but table was in a back corner with one view of a white wall and the second looking at the rock side of a large fireplace. There were other tables empty the whole time we were there but for some unknown reason to me we were put into a back corner. Food was OK but nothing special. At the end of our meal, we quietly left and will never return. We stayed another day at the Inn but ate our meals elsewhere
Thank you your feedback; I'm sorry you were unhappy with your table and that we were unable to impress you with the meal. We typically have reservations on most tables on Saturdays and calculate a turn-time of 2 hours. This does mean it's possible to dine in less than that time and see other tables remain empty, particularly if you are here earlier in the evening. If you do return, please contact us with your seating preference and we'll do our best to find a time & table that you're happy with.
Excellent food in a quality, cozy setting with very good service. Delightful fireside dining on a rainy evening.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and we're delighted you enjoyed the experience!
Bones in my fish, changed to pork and they sent it out bloody!
Hello, I appreciate you taking time to leave feedback; we're sorry we disappointed you on this occasion. I've spoken to our head chef who's reminding everyone to check fish properly for bones. The pork we replaced your dish with is a lean cut sourced it from the best farms; to ensure that it isn't dry, it is served a little pink, though we'd have done whatever we could had you mentioned it when we checked back with you. Please get in touch if you're in the area so we can restore your confidence!
The location and ambiance are top notch leading you to expect a superior dining experience. The chef delivered that in flavor (although it would be welcome if a vegetarian entree option could be provided), and the wine list is outstanding. Our server however was quite poor, forgetting the requested sequence of our order, apologizing and offering to comp dessert. Thinking we were back on track, it was another half hour or longer for the entree to come out indicating it had been forgotten about again. Later she charged us for dessert but never brought it to us. Good thing we had wine and a good view.
Amazing food! My steak au poivre was cooked perfectly. So, so, sho good!
I hesitated on whether to recommend The Fireside Restaurant because while my entree was not satisfactory, my husband’s entree was done perfectly. I decided on not recommending because I believe both entrees should have turned out.
Excellent service and delicious food! Bobbie just enlightened us about the locals discount and she’s lovely too!
Every aspect of dining at the Fireside was fabulous! A very special evening. Thank you!
Very good dining experience. Great staff. Rather noisy in the first dining room. Server moved us to the second dining area and worked out terrific.
It was great! Our server Ava was very helpful and friendly! It was a great experience!
Having made the reservation some time ago we got probably the least desired table near the front entrance. We were somewhat disappointed in the brevity of the menu. We ordered a small plate starter of shrimp in a cream sauce. There were 2(!) med size shrimp on the plate with a bland sauce. We waited at least 15 min for this dish then had our waitress drop our salads off a min later. Not how a high end restaurant serves dishes. The salads were good, my wife’s skirt steak was tough, my scallops were fine. We are very experienced at fine dining this was anything but. Too bad, it’s a nice room. They need help to elevate the dining experience from the ground up.
Great view, great service and great food. What more is there?
Anniversary and everything from service to food including choices was outstanding!
It’s the nicest restaurant around that area. Food options were pretty limited. I had the scallops (dinner not appetizer) and got 3, felt is was a little sparse but tasted good. Took a while to get bread and our check at the end. I realize it was a Sunday evening of Labor Day weekend, everyone was pooped. Our experience was just Ok overall.
My partner and I enjoy The Wednesday Night Farm to Table (or fork) dinners. The food is excellent and the wine pairing is always perfection. Special thanks to Amy for masterful service, as usual.
Service and food does not match the expected ambiance. Wine list is extensive but pricey for the area. Special request was not honored. Service was minimal.
Food is ordinary but not at ordinary prices. Nice location if you can sit on the deck when the weather is good.
We sat outside and the view of the Marina was great. They turned on the gas fireplace heaters and it was very comfortable. But the best part of the experience was the food. The food was truly outstanding. It was the best meal that we have had in a very long time, from the bread on the table to the entree. Every detail was gourmet. We had a bit of an issue with the Inn, but I would definitely recommend the Fireside Restaurant. It was the saving grace for our weekend.
Delicious options and well presented. Wonderful selection of entrees from the Pacific NW. The scallops were perfect. Would dine here again.
I would say that charging $31 for three scallops as a main entree is a bit over the top. They were tasty and well prepared, but they were also too expensive. The salad and dessert were both also good, and the service was commendable.
There aren't a lot of options fine dining options to eat nearby Port Ludlow, and we were pleased this was well prepared food in a lovely marina setting.
We were guests at the hotel. We very pleased with the service and food
We had dinner and breakfast here during his stay at the resort for our honeymoon. Dinner was amazing they did their best to make sure it was special for us.
Very lovely, great service and great food
We brought my family from Pennsylvania down to the Fireside. Salmon and halibut dinners were fantastic. Husband had steak dinner which was also good. Waitress was wonderful.
Food was great. Portion size left something to be desired. We had scallops and received 3 for 31 a plate. Prior to getting our plates, I made a joke to my wife: As long as it is not less than the one time we stayed at Doe Bay, we should be fine. At Doe Bay, we were left hungry with 5 scallops per plate. If you're not concerned with being hungry after, go for the taste. Otherwise, go somewhere else.
Wonderful food, People and Service. One of my favorite restaurants to dine for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Gorgeous marina/water/Olympic Mountain View. We sat outside on the “porch”. Delicious local food, well prepared and plated.
We visit Port Ludlow about every other year and always enjoy dining at Fireside. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back
The service was excellent. Paula, our server was a sweetheart. She was personable and attentive. The food was actually quite good. However, the portions we were served were not consistent with the high price of the meal. For example, my wife ordered the scallops. She was served 3 scallops and although they were big, they certainly did not warrant the high price.
The Fireside has become one of our favorite romantic spots to eat. Ask to sit by the fireplace or out on their glorious deck overlooking the harbor. They have a generous and varied happy hour menu and the regular menu always offers something for everyone in your party. Kids are welcome and the menu for the littles is also generous. They have a FT sommelier and an EXTENSIVE wine list. You seriously cannot go wrong!
We’ve been here twice and both times we’ve had great food and wonderful service. We will be back again soon.
Staff was friendly and personable! Scallop entree was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! It was our One Year Anniversary dinner and they all made sure we had a great time! Will definitely be back for future anniversaries!
We had a reservation, but it still took more than an hour to get our food. When it arrived it was partially cold. There were very few options for a vegetarian. The prices were quite high for what we were served. Overall it was a bit disappointing. The location is good.
Food is outstanding. View is breathtaking.
This is our special occasion go to restaurant. Chef Dan takes care with every little detail of the meal, it is always a pleasure to dine at the Fireside. Ask your server for recommendations if you are torn between multiple dishes. He recommended a dish with morel mushrooms because their season is so short they are not available often. Also excellent mixed drinks and extensive wine selection. When we eat here, it's like taking a mini vacation. Reservations recommended as they fill up.
Food was outstanding and wait staff extremely personable... thanks again for the wonderful solstice dinner
Always excellent food. The Fireside never disappoints. Extensive wine list, with lots of great options to complement your meal.
Wonderful food and especially good service charming.
The blade steak was excellent. It was as tender as prime rib and very flavorful. Platings were beautiful. Absolutely LOVED the French Toast for Sunday Brunch. My wife (a french toast connoisseur) says it is hands down the best she has ever had!
