The Fireside Restaurant, Waterfront Dining
We had an enjoyable evening at the Fireside Restaurant. Although the food was very good, what we will remember most is the excellent service. At a time when many restaurants keep as little staff as possible, The Fireside Restaurant was well staffed by friendly and attentive professionals. The Restaurant is a beautiful and is situated in a beautiful marina. We will be going back often.
40th Wedding Anniversary celebration. Water view table overlooking the marina at Port Ludlow. Food was fabulous. Service was thoughtfully attentive.
Food was delightfully fantastic, service was good, atmosphere was relaxing. We enjoyed several meals there!
Beautiful spot, waterfront views, great food and service.
Excellent food! We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and both were completely amazing. I would highly recommend it.
I can not even begin to describe how delicious the food is. We stayed at the adjoining Inn so we ate several meals there (including breakfast) and they did not disappoint. Even the butter they brought out with the bread was other-worldly. Everything is made from local ingredients and the menu is always changing. If you love excellent food then this is worth the drive and the money. We are not drinkers but the wine list they brought out was the size of a small novel so I am sure a wine lover would find something spectacular inside.
We went there for our wedding anniversary. The food was awesome! We will definitely be going back!
Great service. Wonderful wine list. The steamed clams appetizer was really good, and the scallops were delicious.
arrived in time for happy hr, the mussels were delish and beet salad was. yummy
The restaurant din was slightly louder than I had hope, but not intrusively loud. We have enjoyed several dinners at this restaurant and like to keep it for special occasions. The food was excellent and well timed- the wine menu is extensive and price ranges were from affordable to expensive. Nice place.. great food.. Enjoyed the eveing.
My husband and I came to Port Ludlow by boat and ate at the fireside for our anniversary dinner, it was excellent! Kind staff, good food just a great find!
If you are coming to the Port Ludlow Resort by boat, as we did, plan on treating yourself to a night ashore for dinner at The Fireside Restaurant - you won't be disappointed. The quality of the food is superb, well worth the price on the menu. My only quibble: Fireside should add two or three relatively reasonably priced Chardonnays from Washington's Columbia Valley on the wine list; IMO the ones on the list are pricey. Consequently, we chose a Syrah instead when we would have preferred white wine with our meal.
What a great surprise when we were at Port Ludlow and we ate at the Fireside. Had no idea they were such a gourmet restaurant but well priced. Absolutely delicious food for brunch and also lunch and early dinner. Fantastic staff. Beautiful view and beautiful interior decor. Absolutely loved it can’t wait to go back.
Wonderful meal and friendly service. We each ordered a seafood dish and we enjoyed our meals. Loved the view and ambiance, too.
Dinner was amazing. My husband ordered the farm lamb chops and was in heaven. He said "hands down the best ever" I had the halibut and it was also amazing. Fresh farm lettuce salads and to die for dessert. We were also very impressed with the wine selection which was is quite extensive . All together a wonderful evening!
Excellent service by Tudor. Great meal.
A friend and I share the same birthday, and we enjoyed our birthday lunch at the Fireside. I have been there several times, but it was her first. We both liked the resort and lunch very much.
Came from Sunday brunch. Service was on the slower/less attentive side, however the food was good and ambiance was exactly what we were looking for while celebrating fathers day.
We were staying at the Inn at Port Ludlow so we made reservations for dinner a couple weeks ago. It was a beautiful and warm evening but when we were checking in, the host told hostess to seat us by the fireplace —-which was on. As soon as we sat down, we were uncomfortably warm. We asked if we could move elsewhere and were told no. They finally did turn fireplace off but I felt like we were being unreasonable. Our server seemed stressed and had too many tables. It took forever to get both our cocktails. Mine was so sickeningly sweet that I had to send it back and ordered wine. Steamed clams were ok. Bread tasted like popping fresh dough loaves. Our main dishes were not great. My husbands was better. Mine was bland and tasted like retirement home food.it lacked seasoning. Both dishes were SO overpriced for the size and quantity. Lucky for them that they are the ONLY game in town, otherwise they would not last. Would stay at inn again -enjoyed that- but would bring our own food next time!
Great meal. Best service we have ever had. The atmosphere was pleasant. The view of the water was beautiful. We ate 2 meals at the restaurant and they both exceeded our expectations.
I was really disappointed in my experience at Fireside. I brought my 72 year old mother from Arizona to Mothers Day Brunch. Upon entering the girl seating people was not welcoming. She seemed very stressed and overwhelmed with her job. We were seated promptly, but we were taken to a table in a dark corner, with no chairs. I was told very matter of factly when I asked for another table that I should’ve put in a special request if I wanted a decent table. I walked up to the front to speak to the girl overwhelmed with her job, and she very rudely told me I can’t make a request to change tables and they’ll get me some chairs. I was stunned. I’ve worked in customer service for 15 years and I would never treat a customer the way I was treated. It wasn’t until I asked for a manager that we were seated at a table(with chairs) and a beautiful view. The service we received was excellent by our waiter. The food was really good, although the selection was pretty slim for the buffet room. Although we won’t be coming back there, I really hope some customer service training is implemented with staff so no one else has to experience the type of service we received from the girl greeting at the front. Kudos to the chefs! The creme brûlée was excellent, Food 10/10, service1/10.
Very relaxing yet upscale cuisine. Wine pairing s were fabulous.
Loud 6 party table next to us. Had to ask for bread. Service not up to par based upon prior visits.
Great food, excellent service, pleasant atmosphere. Flat iron steak always great.
Took my sister and daughter-in-law for St. Patrick's day dinner to celebrate 2 wonderful people. Food was good, view WONDERFUL and service outstanding! THANKS!!
The food, friendly service, the wine steward -- it was all great!
A return visit for us. Wonderful food, friendly service and gorgeous views. What could be bad?
This was only our second visit to the Fireside Restaurant. The food was excellent, although a little on the pricey side. For our special occasion and the quality of the meal, the price was acceptable.
Delish.good service.great wait staff.the wine person was very knowledgeable,Andrew I think his name is.great park, good biscuits ,great wines
Terrific overall - as usual! Great food and service. Wait people are warm, friendly and genuinely nice. Menu was perfect and meal was tasty. Highly recommend for any and all occasions!!😆😆
Dinner was good, appetizer “mushroom strudel” fantastic.
Scallops were good but not hot, my wife’s rack of lamb had excellent flavor but was on the border of being cold. Everything tasted great, just not served as warm/hot as it should have been.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Every course was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Unfortunately, it was our waiters last night working for fireside, but he was very attentive, personable, and funny which just made the meal even better.
Excellent everything. My favorite dining spot. Food is great service awesome
We came for a special birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The food was fabulous and the location, breathtaking. Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back.
Four of us ate a splendid meal early on a Friday evening in August in a very uncrowded and pleasant dining room. The offerings had choices of types, but not a lengthy list of each. Fish, lamb, pork, beef, etc. - usually one or two items for each type. To me this is the sign of a competent chef - which is not to over promise a score of items that cannot be delivered without the microwave nearby. Two of us had the beef dish which was perfectly cooked and served with delicious baked beets on the plate. And I usually do not like beets, but these were superbly roasted and had turned so sweet and flavorful I'm going to do them at home. The beef itself was tender and very tasty, perfectly pan sauced. The serving is a la carte - no other vegetables or a salad; this should not be a problem. The menu changes seasonally, or with availability.
For the other two, they ran through about 5 items from the appetizer, tapas, and salad menu listings - both diners were extremely pleased. The lamb albondigas were spectacular. My wife is gluten intolerant, so for dessert we split a gluten free chocolate cake, but I topped mine a la mode, which made it so much more moist.
Very knowledgeable and excellent service from a waitress originally from France. Comfortable chairs and clean and serviceable restrooms. With a glass of wine, plus service and tax, it ran right at $100 for two. Worth it for special occasions, or if you are a foodie. You could do the tapas menu during happy hour for considerably less and still be very pleased. On the other hand, their wine list is deep and well worth a look if your party has the need for a worthy bottle of wine with your dinner.
Wonderful environment for dinning. Food was good to very good. Service was very slow. Staff was friendly.
Always an enjoyable dining experience. Bobbie is our favorite waitress!
We were staying at the Inn for a long weekend and dined at the Fireside several times. We enjoyed every meal. (I wish there was a "frequent diner" complimentary drink!) The meals were good, and on a warm day the deck can't be beat-- yet the dining room is cozy and inviting as well. (Be sure to indicate you'd like an outdoor or indoor table on your reservation, & be on time or they might give away your favorite spot!) The steamed clams and mussels were a favorite, as well as the salmon & halibut dishes. On Sunday evening, service was slow due to low staff, but every other time the service was warm, attentive, & timely! We will return to the inn and Fireside for sure. Only 2 hours from Seattle, but mentally a world away.
Excellent, again. We went for one of their Thursday fish dinners and had delicious plank-roasted salmon. The setting, overlooking the harbor and the Olympics, is magnificent.
We stayed overnight on our way up the coast. We were impressed with the quality of food and the relaxing environment! Staff were warm and kind.
