The Fireside Restaurant, Waterfront Dining
Very good scallops and salmon. The turtle pie is a wonderful way to finish a delicious meal.
Black cod was off the scale great.
After being closed for a few months due to Covid-19, the staff was ready for hospitality and the food was delicious
I would have liked to have dined near one of the fireplaces, but we were seated in a room without one. It was still very nice and I understand about the social distancing requirements. Our server was sweet, happy, efficient, pleasant, helpful and perfect in everyway. Three of us ordered the Sablefish. It was cooked to perfection. It was buttery, very moist and tender and delicious. One guest ordered the scallops and enjoyed them immensely. Thank you for taking care of us. Compliments to the chef!
Went there to celebrate our 5th anniversary and we're forgotten about for the first 20 minutes after we were sat. However, Amy, our server, ended up going above and beyond to accommodate and the evening turned out well after the rough start. Scallops were to die for and of course they had a great wine selection.
Thanks you have having us. Alderbrook didn’t allow us inside the restaurant with out a mask. Thank you for realizing you can’t eat with a mask on. Perfect service too!!
My friend had grilled salmon and lentils. He said it was excellent. The menu and the wine list have been reduced, but there is no lack of quality.
The food was very good. We had the shrimp and butter clam starters. Four shrimp seemed a little lite for the charge. Also the same for the scallops specially for the charge. The salmon was good. The service was iffy at best, two people to run the bar, clean tables and what not for about 16 people. Literally everything took along time arriving. Had to ask for bread, is that the regular procedure now. Water ran out. Another bread and a second drink never came. The people were friendly, but had no time to do a good job and seemed a little inexperienced. We would expect better to become regulars.
Fireplace on was too hot. Poor service. Great food.
The Fireside is always excellent. We were able to sit outside, too, which was nice considering COVID 19 worries.
Great place for 45th wedding anniversary dinner with friends. Thank you.
It was our anniversary dinner. They brought us a delicious dessert to share on the house!
Delicious food and amazing service
We had wonderful time
Friday night the food was great, but Saturday night meh. Both nights outstanding server!
Very nice experience with great service and good food. The amount of bread served could be more generous
Always a treat to dine here. I’ve been a little apprehensive about dining out and having waitstaff in masks, however, the personality of our server seemed to make the mask disappear.
A setting where you can enjoy time with friends in quiet conversation while taking in a pleasant view and enjoying very good fare.
Beautiful setting, wonderful food, and great service!
Fine dining experience and a thoroughly knowledgeable sommelier. Wonderful time overlooking the harbor.
Thanks so much for leaving your comments and we're delighted that you enjoyed your time with us. We hope you're able to return and we look forward to seeing you again!
Had reservations, were also staying at inn. Were seated very quickly, but table was in a back corner with one view of a white wall and the second looking at the rock side of a large fireplace. There were other tables empty the whole time we were there but for some unknown reason to me we were put into a back corner. Food was OK but nothing special. At the end of our meal, we quietly left and will never return. We stayed another day at the Inn but ate our meals elsewhere
Thank you your feedback; I'm sorry you were unhappy with your table and that we were unable to impress you with the meal. We typically have reservations on most tables on Saturdays and calculate a turn-time of 2 hours. This does mean it's possible to dine in less than that time and see other tables remain empty, particularly if you are here earlier in the evening. If you do return, please contact us with your seating preference and we'll do our best to find a time & table that you're happy with.
Excellent food in a quality, cozy setting with very good service. Delightful fireside dining on a rainy evening.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and we're delighted you enjoyed the experience!
Bones in my fish, changed to pork and they sent it out bloody!
Hello, I appreciate you taking time to leave feedback; we're sorry we disappointed you on this occasion. I've spoken to our head chef who's reminding everyone to check fish properly for bones. The pork we replaced your dish with is a lean cut sourced it from the best farms; to ensure that it isn't dry, it is served a little pink, though we'd have done whatever we could had you mentioned it when we checked back with you. Please get in touch if you're in the area so we can restore your confidence!
The location and ambiance are top notch leading you to expect a superior dining experience. The chef delivered that in flavor (although it would be welcome if a vegetarian entree option could be provided), and the wine list is outstanding. Our server however was quite poor, forgetting the requested sequence of our order, apologizing and offering to comp dessert. Thinking we were back on track, it was another half hour or longer for the entree to come out indicating it had been forgotten about again. Later she charged us for dessert but never brought it to us. Good thing we had wine and a good view.
Amazing food! My steak au poivre was cooked perfectly. So, so, sho good!
I hesitated on whether to recommend The Fireside Restaurant because while my entree was not satisfactory, my husband’s entree was done perfectly. I decided on not recommending because I believe both entrees should have turned out.
Excellent service and delicious food! Bobbie just enlightened us about the locals discount and she’s lovely too!
Every aspect of dining at the Fireside was fabulous! A very special evening. Thank you!
Very good dining experience. Great staff. Rather noisy in the first dining room. Server moved us to the second dining area and worked out terrific.
It was great! Our server Ava was very helpful and friendly! It was a great experience!
Having made the reservation some time ago we got probably the least desired table near the front entrance. We were somewhat disappointed in the brevity of the menu. We ordered a small plate starter of shrimp in a cream sauce. There were 2(!) med size shrimp on the plate with a bland sauce. We waited at least 15 min for this dish then had our waitress drop our salads off a min later. Not how a high end restaurant serves dishes. The salads were good, my wife’s skirt steak was tough, my scallops were fine. We are very experienced at fine dining this was anything but. Too bad, it’s a nice room. They need help to elevate the dining experience from the ground up.
Great view, great service and great food. What more is there?
Anniversary and everything from service to food including choices was outstanding!
It’s the nicest restaurant around that area. Food options were pretty limited. I had the scallops (dinner not appetizer) and got 3, felt is was a little sparse but tasted good. Took a while to get bread and our check at the end. I realize it was a Sunday evening of Labor Day weekend, everyone was pooped. Our experience was just Ok overall.
My partner and I enjoy The Wednesday Night Farm to Table (or fork) dinners. The food is excellent and the wine pairing is always perfection. Special thanks to Amy for masterful service, as usual.
Service and food does not match the expected ambiance. Wine list is extensive but pricey for the area. Special request was not honored. Service was minimal.
Food is ordinary but not at ordinary prices. Nice location if you can sit on the deck when the weather is good.
We sat outside and the view of the Marina was great. They turned on the gas fireplace heaters and it was very comfortable. But the best part of the experience was the food. The food was truly outstanding. It was the best meal that we have had in a very long time, from the bread on the table to the entree. Every detail was gourmet. We had a bit of an issue with the Inn, but I would definitely recommend the Fireside Restaurant. It was the saving grace for our weekend.
Delicious options and well presented. Wonderful selection of entrees from the Pacific NW. The scallops were perfect. Would dine here again.
I would say that charging $31 for three scallops as a main entree is a bit over the top. They were tasty and well prepared, but they were also too expensive. The salad and dessert were both also good, and the service was commendable.
There aren't a lot of options fine dining options to eat nearby Port Ludlow, and we were pleased this was well prepared food in a lovely marina setting.
We were guests at the hotel. We very pleased with the service and food
