   Can't say enough good things about our experiences at the Fireside. We dined once before when we had a babysitter for our toddler twins, but this time we brought them with us. They have an impressive kids menu, and we happened to hit a night when kids dined for free--what's not to like about that :-) One of the owners came over to chat and brought us a small collection of toys for them to play with--excellent! On to the food: my Monterey Shrimp and Grits with the innovative twist of goat cheese to make the grits extra creamy was outstanding. Hubby opted for soup and salad bar after having had a large lunch. We all split a Reese's Mini Peanut Butter cup cheesecake to finish off our very relaxing and pleasant meal. Definitely returning on our next trip to Door County!

   So nice to have another gem up in the best area of Door County! Super friendly staff, great food and a hip environment. Huge bar area for anytime fun with friends. Try one of their maple syrup old fashions! Can't wait to return again.

   An interesting and varied menu. Plentiful portions and delicious, carefully prepared entrees. Friendly, helpful servers. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Fireside Restaurant!

   We hadn't ever noticed the Fireside restaurant during our previous visits to Door County but decided to give it a try after finding out it was an OpenTable restaurant. It sort of has a supper club decor and atmosphere, but the food is decidedly beyond that caliber! I started with the smoky cheddar broccoli soup--nice, sharp cheese flavor and almost too rich for a first course. Hubby chose the prime rib special and was pleased with his choice. I had the venison osso buco on a bed of brussel sprouts with bacon and root vegetables. This was osso buco done right--melt in your mouth meat with nicely cooked vegetables that paired well. For dessert we shared the pumpkin bread pudding, something that would have been too much for one to handle, but was conquerable by two. With all kinds of other interesting menu choices that we couldn't even think about trying on just this one occasion, we will definitely make the effort to come back to try some more of this lovely food :-)

   We were recently at the Fireside for our 1 year anniversary. They have a very nice bar which is large and sits in front of a beautiful fireplace. Then came time for dinner. The food is top notch and food that you won't find just anywhere. The venison was amazing! No taste of wild game at all and perfectly cooked, fork tender! The cherry barbecue ribs were seriously the best I have ever had anywhere! So tender and meaty! Then the owner came to our table and talked with us and answered every question we had! Just an amazing overall experience!

   Our group of 10 tried 9 different items off of the Fireside's menu and 8 of them were truly excellent. We had seafood (salmon and jambalaya), comfort foods (french dip, pot pie and chicken and waffles), red meat (prime rib and beef tournedos), and pork chops. Everything was full of flavor, well seasoned and properly cooked. Only the French dip disappointed - the meat was very fatty and chewy. Great food, very good service. Dessert menu was sparse, though - nowhere near the caliber of the food menu. We passed on dessert, which is EXTREMELY rare!

   The fodd we had was very good. I had the chicken pot pie:. My wife had pasta. The pasta was in a sauce. She asked the server if the amount of the sauce was light or if the dish was swimming in it. The server said it was light but it came soaking with sauce. That was the only downside. The restauranthas had a few differentowners overtheyears. The decor has stayed the same. The drapes, at least, needtobechanged.
