My scallops and braised pork belly tasted amazing! However, my partner’s steak was extremely chewy (he ordered it medium rare). Service was good, but the server could’ve checked up on us a bit more. I needed a refill on water for about 15 minutes.
Service was amazing, food was beyond excellent and great atmosphere in the patio. Will definitely come back!
We were celebrating two birthdays, with a group of 8. We we seated promptly and ordered some tasty cocktails & wine. The Pork Belly was a great appetizer, very well prepared. Most people had filet’s or rib eye steaks. Both cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor, including a scoop of herb butter.
The food & service were great and the ambiance of the courtyard made the Firehouse a perfect place for our celebration.
We always enjoy our time at the Firehouse: good food, drinks, service & ambiance.
Unfortunately it's not what it use to be. My food was prepared wrong not once but twice. They lacked plating and pairing skills. The halibut had thick sauce on it that was very unappealing. The scallops were room temperature. While my other party ate her food I was left waiting for mines to be prepared again. The object was to have dinner together.
Food was amazing, service was amazing, and the outdoor dining was very pretty! The heaters were great too! All around a great dinner.
Best crab bisque ever.... wonderful service & food presentation.
Service was great! The ambience in the courtyard was really nice. Cocktails, appetizers, Food, wine and desserts were excellent.
Been here over 100 times over the past 15 or more years. Usually my go to place for a nice dinner. Things have certainly changed here, and after my last experience I won't be coming back.
Even doing patio dining the Firehouse is killing again!!! Service, Food and ambiance is impeccable!!!
The food was pricey, but very good. The service was also very good.
Food was cold including the crab bisque. Portions are small. We had many staff approach us when we first arrived but never received follow up on drink refills until the entire meal was done. Once I got my second hot water for my tea they already taken the new tea bag in the package . I was very disappointed that a meal that cost $200 for 2 would be this unpleasant. We wanted to try something new for our 2nd anniversary. First and last time I will dine here. We went during happy hour because we were interested in some of the dishes but was unable to get the menu. Mortons steakhouse is a much better place for fine dining.
One of the best restaurants in Sac. Dining in the courtyard was lovely and the service was great.
The quality of the food and service is always terrific. My husband and I are 'foodies' from the bay area that moved here 4 years ago. The Firehouse ranks in the top five of our favorite restaurants.
Every aspect of our visit was absolutely fantastic, as always (I have been a recurring customer for years). Our waitress, Heather, was an absolute delight and could not have been more professional, poised, and attentive. She truly deserves high praise. Our only complaint would have been the incredibly rowdy table seated behind us. While I completely understand the restaurant's commitment to excellence and making each and every guest happy, there was one particular table of young women that had appeared to be disrupting every guest at the restaurant with their noise level. I more than understand the fact that sometimes these circumstances are beyond the staff's control. My husband was visiting for the first time, so he didn't notice my next complaint given that I have been arriving for years, but I was very disappointed to see that the tasteful dress code I have been accustomed to seeing at the restaurant in years before was seemingly no longer being upheld. Again, given the situation with the pandemic, I understand that no establishment, even one as fine as this, can afford to be nitpicky with clientele at the moment, I myself just feel the ways in which fellow guests comport themselves per the standards of the restaurant should be reflected, as it is an integral part of the ambiance. A friendly suggestion might be to make more clear and obvious the business-casual dress code that is outlined on the website when making reservations. All of this set aside, however, the visit was nonetheless wonderful as always, and we cannot wait to return again soon!
Because someone didn't show up for work in the kitchen it took a very long time to get our food. The waiter was apologetic and comped our desserts. But the dinner lasted from 4:30 to 7:30. Way too long. One of our party had intestinal troubles the next day, which we think came from undercooked fish.
Unfortunately this time it was very cold and not enough heaters. The quality of rib eye was not good and undercooked.
It was a great experience. The waiter was helpful and the food was out of this world.
The patio is charming but the chairs are cold & hard. It would help if there were cushions to sit on & for the back of the chairs
Great ribeye with black garlic butter-cooked to perfection.
One of the most fascinating evenings of our lives! 19 year wedding anniversary and we could not have been treated better. Amazing did and service. Highly recommend!
Good price for great food outstanding service I will be returning
My wife and I made a reservation for 9pm. We were 7 minutes late. Their doors were locked but someone let us in. We were greeted by one of the staff who acknowledged our reservation and was working on seating us down. Then the GM Mario talked to us. He was rude and asked us how we got in because he locked the doors. He then told us his kitchen staff were sent home and we would not be able to dine in even though we had a reservation. No apology or offer to make things right. We drove from the Bay Area to eat here and to get turned down because they should have not offered reservations at closing is not okay. Apparently the GM HAS 50 years of experience and his customer service was not clearly there or reflect his years of experience. We will not be coming back here.
Excellent food and service! Great place to celebrate a special ocassion.
Enjoyable despite courtyard dining requirements in February
We went for the Valentine’s Day evening five course meal. The food grade the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was even better. 100% recommend for a date night
Our first time here, food and service was amazing. Felt right at home with the great service from the staff. We can’t wait to return
Dinner and the service was superb, this is our second dinner we had at the Firehouse and recommend it highly. My first time in my life to enjoy Beefwellington, So happy too have had the beautiful meal here.
Really great food and venue. The general manager Mario was very nice and knowledgeable. Our waiter was just okay.
Love the firehouse, however it’s been about six years and I remember a larger wine selection.
They had great wine however I was hoping for a bottle of silver oak. Not a problem I’ll bring a bottle next time I go. Great service and amazing food!
Would highly recommend.
Good food in a nice place to eat. Friendly staff. A little on the pricey side
Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing! 5 star for sure!
Running on fumes. Food solid but wine service poor. Physical space dirty with detritus. Nasty bathroom.
We had oysters, appetizers and salads at happy hour, it was such a treat to have good service and ambiance despite COVID restrictions. The large tents and heaters aren’t the most beautiful aspect of patio dining but otherwise The Firehouse is an oasis.
We dined here for my husband’s birthday and it was everything we hoped for, especially after a year of being stuck inside bc of quarantine. We both opted for the chefs 3 course dinner and the food was divine!! We started with crab bisque, then the filet mignon topped with crab and bernaise sauce then finished with crepe brûlée. DELICIOUS!
Excellent service abs delicious foos. Nice treat god the weekend!
My go to place when I'm in Sacramento. Also, Mario makes our meal complete, along with the rest of the staff. An experience with fabulous food!! Mike and Karla
Wonderful meal and great service. A very nice anniversary.
