The Firehouse Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Firehouse has been one of our favorite restaurants. This is the first time we had their Thanksgiving Day offerings. It was a very good value. The food has always been very good with constant quality. Our steaks were cooked just right. The seasoning was on the spot, not salty. We will recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
the food was very good although my wife was going back and forth with the waiter as rather to have the fillet or the rib eye she settled on the rib eye but was served the fillet we didn't send it back because we were kind of in a hurry to go to a Kings game.
Had reservation for 8:45, had to wait at the bar for half an hour before being seated. Bartender was confused as to what my girlfriend wanted in her Hot Toddy, that it's just a general drink of liquor with hot tea, lemon, and honey. Told him Jameson would be fine, he made it with well whiskey... Jim Beam. Waiting staff was friendly and was nice enough to explain some things on the menu. A few times a lot of time had passed before seeing our waiter, leaving us with empty water glasses. Ordered the Hudson Valley Foie Gras, the almond gremolata was too sweet. My girlfriend ordered the Roasted Breast of Local Duckling, which comes with 3 small poorly plated pieces of breast and what looked like wild rice in this grotesque mound. I ordered the Rack of Roti Lamb that came very rare, when I ordered medium-rare, I can eat it either way, it just disgusts my girlfriend when it's still dripping blood. The carrots on the side with the green beans were under cooked, a struggle to cut and chew. The noise level was pretty high, along with screaming children. The men's restroom was out of hand soap but had plenty of mouth wash. This is my first and probably only visit to this restaurant, unfortunately.
Two of us were happy with our food, but my chicken a la king was served lukewarm, and my partner's dayboat seafood plate was mediocre. Our friends' hamburger and pork chop were excellent. So was our crab bisque and Meyer lemon pudding. Service was very good.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was by far one of the best restaurants I have been to. The service was amazing and so was the food. They went above and beyond to make me feel special for my birthday and I definitely felt special. Our waiter was great as well! We will most definitely be coming back!
We reserved The Firehouse for our anniversary. What a spectacular surprise. Everything was perfect. Our waiter Eric was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
Everything was perfect. We were even treated to a creme brûlée for our anniversary.
I truly can not wait to return!!
The staff was excellent: hostess made very rapid accommodations (wonderful, quiet table, nice corner, quiet and not even by the restroom door!) even though I made reservations for the wrong night (OpenTable mistake on my part); wait- and bus-staff were fast, friendly and very good; every member of the staff, whether working our table or not, said hello and good evening/thank you/have a good night - one of the best dining experiences we've had at a place where we aren't extreme regulars. This was our first time at Firehouse. I had the Delmonico and my wife had prime rib. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. The Delminico is about 2 inches thick, so be prepared - if you like a good grill on the outside of a medium-rare steak, consider asking for one temp grade higher than you usually go. Two very minor things: the wine list is extensive and approachable if your credit card is the rarest element or your wallet is equally extensive! Of hundreds of wines, maybe three or four under $100. The other thing: espresso was not great and was delivered too soon - got cold before I finished my wine. So: cocktails, salads, and entrees for two, one bottle of wine, one desert, one espresso -$300 (half, almost for the wine).
Overall, we're excited to bring our friends from Vegas to Firehouse next time they're in town. It was a great way to spend our 22nd Ann'y!
Hmm. Want to say I loved it... its a beautiful restaurant with fantastic service, but the food, not so much. My filet was so over-seasoned (salty) that it was practically inedible and it was overcooked to boot. Didn't make a stink about it, we were celebrating my parents anniversary so didn't want to make a scene, but I would not order beef there again.
Exceptional from start to finish! The hostess greeted us very kindly and was completely receptive to our immediate request; we were delighted to see a timely and efficient response to that request which set the stage for a fantastic experience to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary.
The special surprise I had waiting for my wife was arranged on the table as I requested at the very time I requested it which was a delight to me. The entire waiting and preparation staff to our table created an experience we two will never forget; it was, to say the least, outstanding!
I want to thank you all at the Firehouse for making our 10th Wedding Anniversary a time to remember and cherish for the rest of our lives.
We will return for even more of what you have to offer in the near future, thanks.

I have been to this restaurant several times. The service is typically excellent. The food is delicious with a menu of nice variety.
The dessert was less than perfect, however, it is difficult for many restaurants to get a perfect creme brûlée.
The supporting staff were our favorites, and the chef did very well with our main dishes.
We literally call The Firehouse our favorite restaurant in Sacramento, and there's a reason. The food, service, and environment are unparalleled in the area.
From the gracious hostess who greeted us properly to the serving staff carefully working around my allergies and describing the amazing menu we had an amazing time from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, and the soft music creates the perfect ambiance for conversation.
Yes, a good meal for three people with drinks will run you into the 200-300 dollar range, and that's before an expensive wine or liquor selection, but you really do get what you pay for.
Kudos to the amazing staff, you not only made our stay enjoyable, but you've already made us look forward to our next visit.
We went for my husband's birthday and were surprised by how sophisticated it looked inside. It was so quiet I would definitely call this upscale. We got soup solid 2 appetizers and a dinner and all of it was amazing. We can't wait to go back again and see what else is on the menu.
Needed a special occasion restaurant to wine and dine my husband's sister and her husband, who we had just met for the first time ever!!! My husband is 63, so as you can imagine, this was a real "occasion".
Thank goodness we found The Firehouse (thanks to the internet). We'd certainly had enough fast food over the previous week, by the time we got there! At last, an oasis of delicious food served beautifully in wonderful surroundings by charming staff! We all loved it and I think you will definitely be seeing more of my brother and sister in law in the future. They have lived in Sacramento for many years, but never previously dined with you.
The meal was all beautifully presented and mostly absolutely delicious. My only tiny complaint would be that the jus served with the duck was a little too "vinegary", but that's probably just my personal taste.
My lemon pudding was exquisite! Mmmmmmm!
If we ever cross the pond again, we'll definitely be back, meanwhile, you should all come and visit London! See you there! And thanks for a lovely evening!
The Firehouse Restaurant is our favorite special occasion destination for an amazing meal. The food and service are always amazing. Request one of the semi-circular booths set around the perimeter of the main dining room for an especially cozy dinner for two.
