Wonderful place for a special occasion or for a fine dining experience.

The wait staff was excellent, accommodating, and very friendly.

The food was top notch. Probably one of the best meals I've had in Sacramento. I plan on coming back!

They had to redo my steak. They sent it out well done I ordered medium rare. The second one was great but it took a while and my wife was eating. That sort of sucked since you pay well over $200 for dinner and drinks, not including the tip!

Came here for our anniversary. Only thing we both didn't like was the entrance was a bit confusing. When you walk in it looks like you are entered in the wrong way because he see a at area first and the hostess was sort of hidden half way through. It made it a bit difficult to navigate where to go since we had never been there before. The food was delicious especially the bread. My green beans were over cooked and hard to chew and the mashed potatoes had a few bites that were overly salted. Other than that I loved the palette cleansers and the crab bisque soup was the best soup I've ever had. My husband and I didn't care at all for the chocolate pave dessert. I love chocolate but this was a complete over kill of chocolate. One bite of it was overwhelmingly sweet and very dense. I think it would have been really good had the Kalua ice cream been the main dessert and the chocolate pave been much smaller with the portion. It it very expensive but definitely worth it. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating.

My wife and I had our annual "Prom Night" there and loved it. Great food, great ambiance and great service. I will recommend The Firehouse to anyone who asks me for a fine dining venue for any occasion.

We were disappointed. The service was extremely slow, and the food was no better than fair. Since it is very expensive, I would not recommend it.

For the price demanded on menu, the service was mediocre, restaurant very noisy, bartenders attentive but not good at making drinks. It’s been 28 years since my last dining experience at this restaurant and now I remember why. This is certainly not one of the top places to go in the Sacramento area for a nice dinner. Save your money and go elsewhere.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely anniversary evening with fine food and great service. Kristi and support staff were friendly and efficient. She was helpful in making menu and wine selections and played a large roll in making our evening enjoyable.

Way overpriced for quality received. Server stepped on my foot which did not add to the experience. Reservation was botched from the start and we had to sit at a table in the bar with a group of five practically sitting on our table. Not coming back. Not recommending for any occasion except maybe happy hour.

Not worth the money.
1) Crab in crab bisque tasted excessively fishy to the degree of numbing the gum.
2) Flakey pasty supposed to float on the bisque was soaked and turned into a leather type texture.
- I returned the bisque and was credited for it.
3) Steak was dry and overdone. My guest and I ordered the exact same cut - yet his was twice as thick and perfecry cooked. It felt as if the chef wanted payback.
4) After I returned my meal, the server disappeared and the wine service stopped.
Conclusion: not worth the money.

My wife and I were visiting Sacramento for the first time (she ran in the 29th California International Marathon) and wanted someplace special for our 29th anniversary dinner. The Firehouse more than fit the bill - superb fare, outstanding service, opulent but comfortable ambiance. We can't wait to dine there again. Top notch in every way!

Our waiter, Jason and his co-workers were amazing, first class service all the way. Went with the chef’s special - chateau b, even the side veggies were spectacular. Drove from Lake Tahoe, worth the drive for such a special dinner. Wine suggestion was perfect. Even the coffee was great.

We decided to splurge for our anniversary - could not have picked a better spot. Service was impeccable, from the moment we arrived, when the maître 'd wished us a Happy Anniversary. Lovely, quiet table, waiter very attentive and helpful with menu choices. The dinner was delicious, and wine list excellent, with some wonderful half bottle selections. Not inexpensive, but so definitely worth it.

Our second visit to the Firehouse, again it exceeded our expectations. The ambiance is great, it was decorated for Christmas which made in even more warm and inviting. Service was exceptional as was the appetizer and main course. The drinks were perfect as well as each person tried something new. Overall a fantastic experience and we will be back again,

This is a classy restaurant in old sacramento, without being too stuffy. The atmosphere is nice with very high ceilings in a neat old building.
The food and service are top notch. The lamb is excellent, and so are the scallops. We also shared the pork belly first course and crab bisque second course, which were both fantastic.

We decided to go out this year for Thanksgiving and the Firehouse was offering a special menu and early evening availability. It turned out to be a great choice. It was fine dining coupled with traditional menu. Starters included a crudités/antipasto plate for each person. The dinner choices included a turkey plate with fixings, steak which they are known for, salmon & a veggie option. It was nice to finish a Thanksgiving dinner and not wish you hadn’t had a second helping of stuffing for a change. My only complaint is that I would have preferred a more traditional pumpkin pie for dessert.. it was more like a pumpkin flan.

No offense to friends, family and others with whom I've enjoyed Thanksgiving, but this was the best Thanksgiving meal I've ever had. Everything, and I mean everything, was prepared and presented to perfection. The flavors enhanced and complimented each other and the entire experience was thoroughly and completely fantastic.

Firehouse has been one of our favorite restaurants. This is the first time we had their Thanksgiving Day offerings. It was a very good value. The food has always been very good with constant quality. Our steaks were cooked just right. The seasoning was on the spot, not salty. We will recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Love this restaurant in general and the service was top notch, but the Thanksgiving turkey entree was lacking. The turkey tasted like a slab of lunchmeat versus slices of fresh turkey. Stuffing was different, but sort of okay. The salad was mainly chickory so not too good, with little salad dressing. And the pumpkin pie sounded great on the menu but was more like a round spicy pumpkin mousse with a thin lacy candy wedge and a very small triangle of crust on the side. Definitely not your traditional pumpkin pie which was the ultimate disappointment. My fiance had the salmon entree, and he said it was wonderful. But, skip Thanksgiving at The Firehouse if you want a good turkey dinner.

the food was very good although my wife was going back and forth with the waiter as rather to have the fillet or the rib eye she settled on the rib eye but was served the fillet we didn't send it back because we were kind of in a hurry to go to a Kings game.

Had reservation for 8:45, had to wait at the bar for half an hour before being seated. Bartender was confused as to what my girlfriend wanted in her Hot Toddy, that it's just a general drink of liquor with hot tea, lemon, and honey. Told him Jameson would be fine, he made it with well whiskey... Jim Beam. Waiting staff was friendly and was nice enough to explain some things on the menu. A few times a lot of time had passed before seeing our waiter, leaving us with empty water glasses. Ordered the Hudson Valley Foie Gras, the almond gremolata was too sweet. My girlfriend ordered the Roasted Breast of Local Duckling, which comes with 3 small poorly plated pieces of breast and what looked like wild rice in this grotesque mound. I ordered the Rack of Roti Lamb that came very rare, when I ordered medium-rare, I can eat it either way, it just disgusts my girlfriend when it's still dripping blood. The carrots on the side with the green beans were under cooked, a struggle to cut and chew. The noise level was pretty high, along with screaming children. The men's restroom was out of hand soap but had plenty of mouth wash. This is my first and probably only visit to this restaurant, unfortunately.
