The Firehouse Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Steak was over cooked. Like tasteless charcoal. It didn’t have any pink at all! I had ordered medium My wife got the same thing. I tried a piece of hers and it was great. I should of said something in person, but it was our valentines dinner and I was asked to not bring it up by my wife. The rest of the food was wonderful , but the 50 dollar steak was not edible. I only ate a bite or two. Our service was awesome. We ended up spending about $260. For three courses each and a bottle of wine.
Everything was amazing! The only issue we had was the incredibly rude hostess that night. As soon as we walked in we were immediately judged and given dirty looks by her. Everyone else including our waiter Sean was amazing. He made our night definetly memorable.
Came for Valentine’s Day dinner. We were seated downstairs near the wine cellar. I loved that there were multiple options for the courses. The lobster and crab “stew” was incredible. They gave us a little champagne sorbet to cleanse the pallet which was tasty and classy. The main course had 5 options all great including a vegetarian option. I’m gluten free and they had plenty of options for me. The service was amazing!! Our server was very nice and helpful without being overbearing. Bussers did a great job of reading when we were done and clearing the table. Overall a great visit and well definitely be back.
My wife and I had not been to the Firehouse in over 15 years. We decided to go back to celebrate my wife's Birthday. We had great service, the food was tremendous and we very much enjoyed the evening. We will be back and this time we will not wait another 15 years.
I took my best friend and there are as a birthday gift prior to a Miranda Lambert concert the food was delicious the atmosphere was great the chef even customer paired part of her meal and made her creme brulee for her birthday... The service was great we enjoyed the bar during happy hour before we are seated and had a great experience
Ordered the evening special. Not much flavor to the dish. Very disappointing for $42. My husband ordered the chicken, which he enjoyed but he did comment that parts of it were overcooked and dry. For the cost, I expect an exceptional meal and this was not it. Service was great, but I wouldn't go back.
I loved the restaurant, the food was well prepared and presented very nicely. I would have given 5 stars for the my meal, however the steak i ordered was coated in herbs. I ordered their best cut and prefer when the meat is complemented by seasonings, not over taken by them. That being said, the steak was above average, it just could have been phenomenal. I would definitely recommend for birthdays, anniversaries, and fancy date nights.
We went to the Firehouse for my wife's birthday and they never disappoint. Service, food, and selection are always top notch at the Firehouse. I had the Lobster Tail which was huge and broiled to perfection. My wife had the Pork Chop, again cooked to perfection. Don't leave without having the Souffle for dessert. It was heavenly.
My husband and I have been to the Firehouse a number of times. Most always for a special occasion for ourselves or with others. The food is always the best and we feel unhurried relaxed and at ease. It’s a special place for us and I know we will come back again and again and again!!!
A gem of a place in the heart of Old Sacramento. The food is always amazing, the service is perfection - it's one of those glamorous finds of good old fashioned restaurants that has an affordable price tag and wonderful food. Will come here every time I happen to be in town on business.
The service and ambiance were top notch. We ordered off the restaurant week prix fixe menu. It was our first time eating here so not sure if that’s a good sample of the quality of the food or not but the food was just ok for the price it usually is (when it’s not prix fixe). The salmon was over cooked and not super fresh. The sirloin steak meal tasted strongly of rosemary. Like it was hard to taste anything else. The apple dessert was cold/room temp and boring. We’re going to give this restaurant another chance though.
This was an annual 3 course special and the portions were decidedly smaller than usual which I like. Wish more places had a regular lighter diner menu. Enough for dinner not the next day styrofoam box lunch.
The Firehouse serves good lunches, but at night is a much more expensive steakhouse. Therefore their wine list leans heavily to expensive, heavy reds. I prefer seafood with a good Chardonnay. They offer precious few choices of white wine. Sometimes we take a rare rose and happily pay their reasonable corkage.
