Always pleasantly surprised at the cost for the quality.

The Firestone patio is a great place for a quiet lunch for business or pleasure. Quiet, pleasant and peaceful surroundings; prompt, unobtrusive and efficient service. Very pleasant ambiance. The food was outstanding; we had the seafood special pasta (which contained a nice sized amount of lobster, scallops, fish, etc), lobster bisque, and the pineapple curry chicken salad. All were fresh and delicious.

For 2 people, cost is 150.00 or more, a little expensive for everyday but for our special occasions we enjoy the personal attention and special dishes. The food was delicious except the lobster bisque was a little fishy and there was no other choice of soup, as my husband does not like lobster, he had no other choice for soup. The deserts were great. We truly enjoyed our experience.

Excellent service, delicious food. Did not feel rushed although it was a very busy Saturday night, with a wedding party downstairs. Our waiter, Francisco, was very gracious and gave good advice on the dinners. Would recommend more valets. Only two young men working.

Been to the Firehouse restaurant on many occasions, including having my retirement party there. The Firehouse dining experience never disappoints. On this occasion, everything was very satisfying and the service was impeccable. Kudo to our server "Christie".

I love this restaurant. Elegant, reserved, classy with great food and wonderful service. I live on the east coast and my son has relocated to Sacramento. Every time we visit we make sure to spend a night at the Firehouse. Love it.

First time visiting The Firehouse. I very much so enjoyed it. The surroundings through the restaurant are amazing from California architectural history, service was superb, cocktails were great from the bartender pre dinner, and the food is decadent. Portions are on the smaller side but for quality product and flavor, worth it. Pricing is decent.

Great food, great waitstaff, great ambience! Sometimes gourmet cuisine is too exotic, but in this case, the food was very appealing. Simply delicious! And the waitstaff were so amiable! Would come back again.

The Firehouse was a beautiful restaurant, with valet parking to ease your entrance, and great ambiance to enjoy your meal. The Chicken was so moist, and the duck was cooked to perfection. The waiter was wonderful, he went over the menu with us, and recommended a cocktail that I absolutely loved. Thank you to the staff. Great job.

The food was well above average but not quite exceptional. The drinks however where disastrously sub par. They were very sugary and tasted more like something you would find at a chain restaurant. We dined here on a Saturday night so I would expect that they would have their best drink mixer on staff. My wife and I ordered two drinks each and not one of them was well well-crafted. They really brought the overall experience down.

The Firehouse Restaurant is fabulous. The food is as good as we have ever had, and the wine list is good, albeit a bit on the pricey side. The Caesar Salad is excellent. We had a nice Super Tuscan wine from Bolgheri, Tuscany, Italy. Service was excellent and valet parking is only $5.00 (+ tip). All in all, a very nice experience.

I arrived on time for my anniversary dinner, and we got seated. After a few minutes we got our server tell us about the special of the day. After that he disappeared. As time went by so did my patience. Our server helped his tables but us. After 25 minutes he started helping a new table and help them with their order, while we were still waiting for our order to be taken. Finally after 35 minutes we decided to walk out without eating. The serves was just plain bad. Such a shame as I had good expectations, but I don’t think I will ever go back, and I don’t think none of my friend will do too. So yeah pretty bad experience.

This restaurant was our families go to restaurant when I was in college. Times have changed. The food isn't that special at all. The ambience is the same except that Victoriana as a style has worn off for me. I'd like to see you hire a designer to re-interpret the 19th century for this place. It is truly out-of-style with food to match. Sorry.

Outdoor seating for lunch.....beautiful and comfortable setting even in 90-plus degree heat.
Food and drinks were good but the service was glacially slow. We weren’t in a hurry but lunch took almost 3 hours!
Bonus-the complimentary crepe brûlée for bday guests. 😀

It was my wife’s bday and we happened to be in town. I was looking for a place with a nice steak dinner and Lo and behold The Firehouse came up in our search. The service was incredible - just the nicest people ever. Our waiter was also exceptional. My son even told us he didn’t want to leave him here and he wanted to be his friend, haha. My wife said it was the best dinner she has had in years.

I used to date the daughter of a well known political figure back in the late 60s. He dined at the Firehouse quite frequently. He'd entertain guest from out of town there and invite me along with the family. I've also been on many a prom, ball, dance, birthday, date there. In those 50 years the Firehouse Restaurant has given me only the best food and service. A Sacramento landmark in fine cuisine. See you again soon.

Amazing food, professional formal service. I've been going there a few times every year and it has always been a great atmosphere and a notch above all other restaurants regarding food than I've ever been to. Gorgeous room as well.

This place was recommended by 3 different friends. The service was fantastic. Love the corkage fee option. Food was really good. Not perfect and even though I asked that my food not be salted my salad was. Not sure why for what we spent. We would probably go again if in town

My second time there and both were very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, it was charming and comfortable. The service is always excellent, however, let me preface that we dine early as we are usually attending something at the Golden 1 Arena afterwards, so it's still very quiet.
The cocktails are perfect and the scallops are perfectly cooked, not an easy task.
My only complaint, and I don't recall EVER making price an issue however, this is Sacramento and it is one of the most expensive meals I have had in the valley. We had a pre dinner cocktail, half dozen oysters, split a Ceasar salad and each had an entree, and a glass each of wine with dinner. We enjoyed a bottle of Pellegrino sparkling water and shared a dessert. The bill , including tip, was $250.00.
I need to curb my pre concert splurge and find something a little less extravagant and save this one for that special occasion.

Firehouse is rated as one of the top restaurants in Sac, however that isn't saying much. The overall standard for Sacramento dining is far below that of the Bay Area, L.A., or even San Diego, and while some of Sac's mid-market restaurants are stellar (South, Tower Cafe, many others), the Sac fine-dining experience leaves a lot to be desired. There was not one particular thing that prompted me to give Firehouse three stars; rather it was the entire experience. One item in particular that stood out is the interior design of the main dining room. Lighting is bland, and the artwork on the walls is creepy: who wants to see a life-size adult Satyr in an erotic pose with what appears to be a child Satyr? Who paints (or selects) this stuff? Food was OK although my vegan companion was limited to one selection for the main course. Service was ok, although the waiter seemed to be going through the motions. I don't know what was up with the waiter but he never greeted my date, who is an African American female, but rather greeted and directed all conversation to me, a white man. We won't be going back anytime soon.
