The Firehouse Restaurant

Beautiful setting. The service was so good. Had the steak and scallops. They were great. Salad was okay. Very good wine. Very pricey but worth it. I highly recommend if you are in the area and want a great experience.
Our server was the greatest. He had issue with some very rude customers. The maitrede/server was very calm and was very professional. We felt very sorry for what he had to go thru. We will for sure come back even if you are a little high for us
I want to start off by saying that I really enjoyed this restaurant the first time we came here about 3yrs ago. We've been here several times since and each time has been a little less impressive than the time before. This time we had an early reservation, 5:45. We ordered shortly after arriving. A few minutes later they brought oysters and the firehouse trio, neither of which we ordered lol No biggie, they try to locate the table that ordered the dishes and I guess the trio was a mistake so they offered it on the house. Not my taste but hubby enjoyed it. We then started with the butternut squash gnocchi which was really yummy! I had high hopes that this was going to be a good night at The Firehouse. Our entrees arrive,a ribeye for hubs and filet with truffle butter for me,both ordered medium. Then our server asks if we wanted more drinks,we did so off she went.We cut into our steaks and realize they are not medium,oh well! They had a difficult customer being a real jerk to the staff so we decided to happily eat our medium rare steaks and not mention it. We get halfway through our entrees when our server comes back to check on us, "Anything, I can get for you? Oh right the tea!" She gets my tea and then realizes she also forgot to refill my husband's glass. So she grabs his lemonade and by then we are done and ready for dessert. I ordered the souffle and hubby the cherry bombe. The server informs me the grand marnier is not cooked off ,my husband asks if they can cook it a little to accommodate a pregnant woman, no. Okay, panna cotta it is! Both desserts were yummy. All in all it was a pretty lack luster experience food and service wise. I don't think we'll be returning after this last experience which is sad because I absolutely love the ambiance of this place.
Outstanding service and Food paired with a great ambience. This is definitely a fine dining establishment, and the prices are fair and consistent with such. Only drawback is limited options for vegetarians, but they DO have a very good vegetarian option.
Impeccable service, ambiance, and food. I am definitely coming back, and recommending it to friends.
Wonderful ambiance. Great service. Good food and good eye candy
Great food and excellent service. We are definitely going back!
Great food and great service. I would come back this spring.
Busy night with long backup at valet parking. Lighting exposed surroundings to be very dated, lacking the fine dining ambience I was expecting. Large portions for main course entrees. Waitress provided option when unable to find simple house salad available on the menu. Nice presentation on desserts. (High) pricing seems to be based on reputation as opposed to atmosphere.
Excellent for everything! Great Steak and Lobster special.
Really elegant place, we arrived 30 minutes early and the hostess took us right away. The server was amazing , and gave really great recommendations. The food was outstanding and very high quality .
We had a fabulous meal with excellent service celebrating a 60th birthday. The server was attentive, but not intrusive. All 8 of us had a great time and great food.
We're so glad you enjoyed your celebration. Thank you for joining us and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Valentine’s Day celebration dinner. The food for the price was quite mediocre and perhaps it was a long night for the servers but incorrect items were brought. Out of two diners, the server couldn’t get the right dish to the right person. Just not high end service. For the price, there should have been a great deal more attention to service and food quality and it just was not there. A true disappointment. Over priced and under delivered.
First order of the night was the dungeness crab en croûte. The biscuit was dry and the crab was so-so.
Next was the lobster bisque, which was the best part of dinner. The broth was exceptional.
Then was the worst filet mignon I have ever had. I asked for a medium well and it was done almost rare. The outside was charcoal black, I’m not joking. I could taste the burnt filet after ever bite. Disappointing.
Dessert was the chocolate amore. Looked like it was pitched from the local grocery store. Taste was decent.
After the fact, I spoke to my sister-in-law about this restaurant and they too had a horrible experience.
Overall, wasted $270. I won’t be dining here again.
Although, service was great.
We are glad you enjoyed the service but very sorry you didn’t feel our cuisine was at its best during your visit. Overall, our response to Valentine’s Day Dinner was quite positive but we will be sure and discuss your review with our staff to see how we can do our best to improve.
The Valentines dinner for 2 is $300 and this is a treat my husband and I have been going to for years but this year I dont know what happened, the food was horrible and made us sick. We ordered the filet minion and they paired it with some nasty tasting fish, we didnt pick the salad because it had goat cheese so we chose the lobster bisque soup which was also awful. Out of thr 4 courses, there was only one thing we really liked out of all of it and that was the filet. I dont know if they lost the chef they had or not but something happened. We left unsatisfied and ill all night following into the next day. Thw ambience was not there, they made us walk outside down to some other room down a little bit that sucked. We would rather have been in the main section.
Hi Robyn – we’re sorry you didn’t feel we were at our best when visiting for Valentine's Day. Overall the Valentine’s Day response has been quite positive, but our GM will be reaching out to you so we can get more info on where can do our best improve. In the future, if you’re going to be here for a special event & would prefer the main dining room, please let our staff know when making your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate. We hope you’ll give us another chance to impress you.
Words fail to describe the amazing experience provided on Valentine’s Day. It brings the perfect ambiance for a romantic evening. Loved that gelato was given as a pállate cleanser, and the plating was beautiful. Planning to return for future dates.
Dang .... don’t go on Valentine’s day! They stuck us in the banquet room. We thought, Where the heck is the Quinceanera? So, no ambiance. No cool restaurant/bar. Food wasn’t spectacular except for the lobster bisque. Disappointed at best.
My fiance and I we're highly impressed with the service and delicious food. We appreciated the time and details given for the meal. Although it was a preset meal, due to the amount of choices given, it's still felt like a very unique and special experience. Would definitely come back and try again.
The Firehouse certainly lived up to its reputation. Even though the house was at capacity (on Valentine's Day), the service was exemplary, food was exzellent, and presentation perfect.
Had a grat time. Food and service was was excellent.
I always love going to The Firehouse. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, and the ambiance is amazing. It's the perfect place for a high end, high quality meal.
It was a great start but when the main meal came it was a complete let down probably the worst I have eaten in aong time
My wife and I go to The Firehouse whenever there is a special occasion. We have yet to be disappointed. Our favorite is the pork belly. It's always tender and flavorful. Their palate cleansing sorbet are always a delight; always refreshing. The Firehouse will always remain our special place.
The food was delicious and the staff was attentive. The portion sizes are well worth the price.
Amazing filet mignon
They charge 2x42 dollars for service and tips just for two persons and take of my meal course during I was in toilette. Scallops 43 dollars in the trash ! Total : 250 dollars 😱
First visit for us. The reviews enticed us to make the trek from Nevada City. All aspects of our dining experience were exceptional. We’ll return this summer to dine al fresco in the courtyard.
We went to The Firehouse Restaurant for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our evening very much.
Not as spectacular as the last time I went. Seemed like all the entrees came with the same sides. Potatoes, carrots and peas for my wife, potatoes and brocolini for myself. No risotto or other options. Cold soup sample was so so. Wines we ordered were by the glass we less expensive but disappointing, especially the Sauvignon Blanc, which was too sweet and bland. Kirkland brand would beat it hands down, dry, crisp and fruity. The Cabernet was also sub par. Still, the lamb and scallops were good. Even the coffee during desert was so so... Just not as great an experience as our last visit.
Accommodating, pleasant, needs met. Had to leave dinner early and they had everything wrapped up for us in less than minutes.
Very memorable and romantic experience. I would highly recommend it and will be returning soon
Deeply disappointed with our entire experience at The Firehouse. I ordered a Caesar salad, which was terrible - even Applebee's has a better Caesar ( the Firehouse Caesar was advertised as having white anchovies, which it did NOT have, there wasn't much parmesan, the lettuce was nothing but not-quite-green pieces, and the dressing was inadequate in both taste and quantity ). I had the 16-oz. ribeye as an entrée but the medium-rare preparation I requested turned out to be mostly rare. The worst part of our experience was when my wife asked our waiter ( who seemed to us to be, at best, rather indifferent, and he added ZERO to our dining experience ) to tell her about one of the desserts offered, and he said, "What do you want to know? It's all there on the menu." My wife called The Firehouse and spoke to a manager about our dissatisfaction, and the manager offered to "make it right" somehow, to which my wife told her that we wouldn't eat there again even if it was free.
We’re sorry that you didn’t feel we were at our best during your visit Jordan. We will discuss your review with our staff immediately to be sure we improve.
I called a few days in advance and ordered Beef Wellington for my husband and a friend. It was done perfect. I had the scallops and they were wonderful. We don’t go there to often but when we do go we enjoy it there.
Everything was exceptional !!!
Good food and great service!
Great spot for a delicious meal! Impeccable service. Definitely not an inexpensive outing but worth the experience.
The Firehouse is a classic fine dining restaurant. Waiters in tuxedos; excellent food; classic service.
Really expensive for what you get. Good service, over priced wine.
Service was far too slow for the experience. Food was mediocre. Was expecting more from this establishment.
Hi Annie, we’re sorry that we weren’t at our best during your visit. We will be discussing your review with our management team to see how we can improve. We hope you’ll give us another chance to impress you.
The food, service and ambiance were incredible. It’s a fine dining restaurant with a relaxed feel. We enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience and will definitely be back for another special occasion.
