    My wife’s first plate was inedible . My filet mignon and lobster tail both were over cooked. I ordered it rare it came well done. By the time I was able to get the waiter’s attention and the over 20 minutes it took to get my meal back to me the rest of my party was done eating.  The waiter did credit my wife’s first plate bit small consolation for the returned meal and noisy setting. We’ve had great service in the past so last night was a disappointment, especially for an anniversary dinner.

    We had a large party that was suppose to be 10, but turned out to be 11 and they happily made room for us. We were not in a hurray and did not rush us. The server did a wonderful job showing up at the right time for us and we never had to wait for anything. Having been a waiter at a quality establishment, it was nice to see proper service. Great place for a romantic dinner or special event. The souffle is worth the wait.

    Our experience was outstanding. The bar selections were extensive, and the food was incredible. Our server was one of the best we have ever had. Very attentive, always seemed to be a step ahead of us and we enjoyed a seamless dining experience. We will definitely go back.

    We can always count on The Firehouse to deliver a fantastic meal. Loved the fact that we got to sit downstairs for the first time. It was truly lovely and our waitress was great.

    Food and service were a 5+. Great ambiance, staff jumping to help; awesome, but pricey, selection of wines. We celebrated my birhday and our engagement at the same time. They brought us complementary creme brulee for both of us. Our waiter is first class, knowledgeable, friendly and provides the best service!

    I greatly recommend The Firehouse Restaurant for a special event dinner or just a fun splurge. The food, service and atmosphere are really special. I had the scallops and my husband had the lamb. He is a big guy and couldn't finish his portion it was so generous. It was my husband's birthday and they gifted us an amuse bouche upon seating and a birthday desert at the end. The food was delicious! My only gripe was that I requested outside seating in my reservation and, upon arrival, was told a wedding was being held outside and we couldn't sit out there. I was glad I had brought a light jacket because the A/C was a bit chilly. It was a warm night outside which is what I planned on when I dressed for dinner. A minor thing. Not a big deal. The interior furnishings with the white tablecloths makes the restaurant feel very special.

    Fantastic food. Appetizers we had Scallops. Our table had the Cornish Game Hen,. Double bone pork chop and two Prime New York strips . Absolutely delicious. A little pricey so we did this for special occasion. Great atmosphere . Valet parking right in front of the restaurant.

    Ambience is beautiful. Service was pretty bad. It took forever to place our order, I flagged down what seemed like a manager for salt and pepper, I went through a busser to get our waiter to let them know our well done filet mignon came back rare, and flagged down another busser twice to get our waiter to come give us our check. Because of all of the delays, we were at the restaurant for 2 hours and 45 minutes and we had one person who was hungry from the beginning and one person who needed to get back home to take care of an elder. Service sucked.

    The guests enjoyed their entrée. I had the game hen and it was terrible. The polenta was not good also. Very disappointed. The service was great. The drinks were suppose to be paid by the guests. I paid the total bill including cocktails. I did not appreciate the extra costs. Wine was very expensive. Peggy Partington Reservation 8/27 party of 8.

    Lovely outdoor patio was eclipsed by the nearby club noise. One waiter provided slow service. Steak was undercooked. I had to get up and find our waiter because there was zero staff in sight. Portions are small. My scallops were bland. The service and food do not match their prices. Disappointing overall.

    What a memorable evening. From our cocktails in the bar to our dinner. This was our 41st anniversary celebration. An evening of fun in old Sacramento. The food was amazing, the staff took great care. I thought this would be the only time I'd have dinner her but we’ll be back and share this fantastic place with our friends. Truly an amazing experience!!

    Valet was full, so that made us a little late. Service is wonderful and attentive. Drinks were great. Enjoyed the Duck Crepe and the bread was warm when served with whipped butter. My wife and I had the NY Strip and Filet. Ordered medium and medium rare and got what looked/felt like medium well and medium. Filet had good buttery taste, strip was tough and just okay. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and soufflé. Cheesecake was too busy, but if you ignore all the accompaniments, the cheesecake taste is delicious. The Soufflé was great. No complaints and an overall good experience, but the price to taste value will keep us from coming back. Lower prices or increase taste (or both) and it would be worth coming back.

    We arrived an hour early and we were seated right away! The host was VERY helpful and seated us in a table in the corner where we could sit together and not across from each other. Service was impeccable! Drinks were very tasty! Food was amazing! I had a New York and my Beautiful Birthday girl had the lobster! Do not miss this place!!!

    The Firehouse offers true quality and value for money. The atmosphere is relaxing and classic. My husband ordered seared scallops which were served with carrots and summer squash. I had the daily special which was a type of mackerel accompanied with fingerling potatoes and a very interesting and delicious creamy sauce with corn and onions. We have been coming here for several years and are always pleased!

    The food was excellent as was the service. We were able to sit out on the patio- beautiful and so peaceful and quiet. Prices high but the quality of the food justifies the prices. Great place.

    This is one of our go-to restaurants for special events. This time we splurged for our wedding anniversary. The ambiance is mellow and pleasant. The service is immediate and professional, from every single member of the staff we encountered. The food was delicious. We had salmon and scallops cooked to perfection. The dessert was an incredible souffle. It took longer to prepare, but was very much worth the wait!

    Unsure whether I have ever used the words "over rated" in a review but this was the consensus of we six. It was a very special occasion and I selected this restaurant due to its proximity to one of my sons and the reviews. You'd think you be singing the praises of an $900 dinner but: one of my sons ordered a rib steak, medium-well and it was the rarest of rare, literally dripping blood. Had our server been around he would have sent it back, but by the time "how's everything" was asked it was too far into the meal. Four of us had the rack-of-lamb and many were undercooked on the same plate with some properly cooked and that was strange. My wife's fish of the day was virtually tasteless and as a former restaurant owner she rarely has a negative comment. The pork belly was outstanding and the carpaccio very good, the oysters fair-good. The variety of desserts we selected were one very good, one good and two forgettable.... but, overall, a most disappointing meal on what was to have been a celebratory night.

    Honestly the service and the food was amazing. My wife’s cut of meat was phenomenal mine not so much. I had a New York cut and honestly I expected more from a restaurant or your caliber. I have had steaks with more marbling and that is not the problem it was really tough with a lot gristle and very difficult to eat. Otherwise everything else was amazing

    Service had the right level of attention and discretion. The elote "gnocchi" we had as a starter is one of the most exceptional starters I've had anywhere (the corn and the sauce were the star of the plate). The only miss was the vegan panacotta which was more of a mochi texture and not to my liking (and which they took off the bill without my asking, after the waiter seeing it was barely eaten.

    Pros: 1) Ease of making a reservation through Open Table 2) Ease of ability to contact restaurant to modify reservation twice 3) Valet parking 4) Waiter's personability 5) Seared Day Boat Scallops moderately good but way too busy; less is more 6) Sword fish special enjoyed by diner 6) Honey-black sesame cheesecake enjoyed by most diners Cons: 1) Prices too high considering the quality of the food & overall dining experience 2) Maple Leaf Duck Crepe was atrocious; this item was removed from the bill 3) Raw oysters were served with an extremely vinegary dressing; staff was able to provide most of the items to make a traditional red sauce, but this took several minutes 4) Torched Baby Gem salad was mediocre & uninspired 5) Poor bus service; water glasses were not kept filled 6) Dessert menu was too extravagant; no simple choices
