This was our first time eating at this restaurant, and we loved it. Well worth the price for our anniversary.
Definitely on the expensive side, but the food is excellent and the portions are large to complement an excellent dining experience. Well worth it.
Perfect place for luxurious service and food with a perfect atmosphere for a busy husband and wife to catch up, undisturbed by the rest of the world.
Been meaning to visit the Firehouse Restaurant for a while and finally got the opportunity.
The ambiance was great, the service was outstanding, and the food was amazing!
Our entrees included the pork chop and the filet. Will definitely be back again in the future and would highly recommend it to friends and family.
Celebrated 30th anniversary was amazing!! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
As alway, the device was welcoming and excellent. We were celebrating a special birthday, and my friend certainly felt like a queen! Our food was delicious, and was cooked just as I needed for my dietary issues. Our server repeated what I asked for and it came out perfectly. The only thing that I noticed with the bill was the extra charge for our choice of meat on our spinach salads. I may have misread it, but I thought the menu said, “With your choice of chicken, salmon, or steak.” I do not recall seeing the additional charge listed on the lunch menu for the additions. I did not question it as I did not want to make our guest uncomfortable. It may have been my mistake.
We will return for another delicious, relaxing meal.
Jeremiah was a perfect server. The food was great! Wine selection under $100 a bottle (my range) was decent. Truffle gnocchi was an awakening. Great dish!
The whole place and the staff are very pretentious. There were waiters and hosts basically talking to each other and ignored the guests. We were directed to the host/hostess stand by first the bartender and then later we were directed to speak to the hostess by the Mitre,d' who was standing rifht next to the hostess, it was actually a bit silly. This is a restaurant that thinks it's better than it is! It has a great reputation and trades on that, but it is NOT as good as it's reputation suggests!
The ambiance/atmosphere was very nice. The room was tall with many mirrors making it seem large.
The food was only fair and the service worse, and it costs as though it were a wonderful "world class" restaurant and it is NOT! The amuse busch was the best part of the meal and it was tastless! A rice ball (arroncinni) completely underseasoned on a tiny spot of marinara which was also tasteless!
The porkbelley (the appetizer) was fair but over done and then the chicken breast was awfull! It was under seasoned and the skin was flabby and tasted off and threw the whole taste of the meal off. The carrots needed to be cut with a chain saw, they were that poorly cooked! The chicken below the skin (which had be removed) was dry and unappetizing. A lobster tail which was served to a table a distance away smelled so fishy that we could smell it at a different table. It couldn't have been good. No one in the restaurant was exclaiming about how much they enjoyed thier food! We decided against dessert as we were sure we would be dissapointed! I would never recommend this to a friend nor would I return! The wine was again pretentiously over priced too. Way too much money for a poor meal! Problems on both the front and the back end of the restaurant!!!!
For the experience but honestly the food was not what I expected.
The food was outstanding and the ambiance was so romantic. Love the restaurant
The day we met seven years ago started with a visit to the Crocker; since we were clicking it continued to wine at the Firehouse Bar; still going well, we stayed for dinner! Seven years later we are still going strong. We had s lovely anniversary dinner at the same table we shared on our first date.
Very Disappointing... We had the sea bass with garlic spinach and the duck with yams and red cabbage. There was too much uncooked garlic with the spinach and the red cabbage made with vinegar didn't go well with the duck with orange demi glacé.
The Firehouse is white cloth so plan attire and money accordingly. The service is top notch. The food was decent, but pricing is difficult to justify with such small portions. Our server brought a birthday dessert after I made a note of it on our reservation which I thought was very nice.
Excellent food in a fantastic ambiance with stellar service. An excellent choice in Sacramento!
Service was excellent. However, maybe due to it being a Monday night, the lamb and the filet mignon was lacking flavor. Dessert was excellent and the brussel sprouts. Tried the filet mignon the next day hoping my taste buds we're in better shape but it still had no flavor. Overall we had a terrific time.
Expensive, really good.
Server was very attentive, I had the steak and it was amazing.
Came here for a b-day celebration with my husband and we had a great time. Our servers were very tentative, the food was amazing, and they provided him with a b-day dessert to top it all off. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.
-pork belly to share (delicious)
-heart of palm salad to share (good, standard)
-prime cut filet of beef (delicious)
-salmon on gnocchi special (good)
-cream brûlée to share (delicious)
The town and old school feel to the place is charming. Food and service were both great. Good variety of menu selections. The wine list is outstanding. Huge variety and huge breadth/depth with quality options across price points.
Perfect ambiance. Great service but not too stuffy.
Great place with wonderful food, drink, and excellent service...Jeremy was a most excellent waitperson...Thanks!
Food was so fresh & delicious! Service was great, friendly, and very attentive...Arturo was amazing to us! Ambience was very classy yet hip with a historic flare. We will visit and dine again! Cheers!
The ambiance could be improved. What's missing most notably is music ! Lighting and decor could use a refresh as well. Cob web on the chandeliers is not exactly rustic ;)
The food and service was wonderful. It is a very nice beautiful restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient. It’s a must.
This was a business dinner for 6, 4 who have never been to Sacramento. Firehouse in Old Sac was an ideal restaurant for this dinner. Terrific atmosphere, service, food, and one of the best wine lists that anyone at the table has seen. Thank you for contributing to a successful dinner and an enjoyable evening.
The waiter and food we're spectacular! I would definitely recommend and go back!
Excellent night. My wife and I realy enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much.
The lamb was a perfect pairing with the Volnay!
The service was above amazing! Food fantastic!
It was great! Beautiful restaurant, great service, great food. My daughter and I liked it a lot. Would come here again.
The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. The service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to eat.
We went for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was wonderful. We were greeted with a smile and asked if we wanted to hang our coats. The food was AMAZING. Probably the best I’ve ever had. And the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. I can’t wait to go back.
Meals were very good. Pork chop was cooked perfectly they also want to help all customers enjoy their luscious food along with their wine. Bravo to the fine staff at the Firehouse. We are grateful you are in Sacramento. Top notch service.
We decided to have our anniversary dinner at The Firehouse last weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed each course and appreciated the great service. We hadn't been there in over 30 years and can honestly say the quality of their food is much better now. We'll definitely be back.
Excellent on everything
Amazing service but my rib eye was just ok. Wife had the sea bass and loved it.
My first impression of this place was very positive. I loved the service and the ambiance was great. I only had one complaint if I would even call it that. The food was good but not outstanding. I ordered the appetizer and it was undercooked. Could have used 3 more minutes in the oven. Also the meal itself while delicious, was not worth the price I think. I have had much better elsewhere for a better price. That said it was enjoyable and I would go back.
Great food and great service. Staff was amazing and very helpful.
It was a great experience! Food was wonderful! But there was some guests near us that were loud and a bit disturbing since we wanted a very quiet and elegant dinner. Staff is very knowledgeable and professional.
Great meal and great service. My wife and I both had the scallops. They were perfectly cooked. We certainly enjoyed our time at the Firehouse Restaurant.
