Excellent meal, service and atmosphere to enjoy a special occasion. First time visitor and will recommend to others for an enjoyable evening.
Nice ambiance. Food and service was excellent from appetizer to dessert. Subtle and consistent quality throughout.
The food was to die for!! The escargot app in the mushroom sauce incredible but even better were the entrées we had the elk chop, NY sirloin and veal chop. All were fabulous but I had the elk chop and it was the bomb! Oh and try the beignets for dessert...comes out warm with dipping sauce and coffee ice cream, YUM-E! The house has lots of character. The staff was unreal, so accommodating. Curt was our waiter, very knowledgeable about the food and the wine he made our visit fantastic. He did not rush us he was great. Would definitely dine there again.
Wonderful!!! Will definitely be back!
I get to the Fig Tree about twice a year and have always had an excellent experience. The food is delicious and very creatively prepared. The servers remember you and make the meal special and the wine list is varied and, surprisingly, there are very reasonably priced bottles.
Great food and great service. Will definitely visit again.
Superb service, greeted with warm smiles and Southern charm. Restaurant is quiet but not too quiet, allowing for a romantic atmosphere. Food was spectacular, especially the Elk Chop. Server asked if we were dining on a special occasion which we were, our wedding anniversary. She presented us with a surprise dessert plate that read "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate at the end of the meal. The Fig Tree went above and beyond our expectations, quite possibly the best restaurant experience we have ever had in our almost decade of living in Charlotte!
Enjoyed our dinner at the fig tree very much. Portions were generous, food was delicious, service was attentive but not intrusive. We had a foie gras appetizer which was wonderful, main dish scallops which were truly perfect, and lamb which was delicious as well. The only feedback I would give the restaurant was upon entering there was a seafood cooking a odor which was a bit offputting. It was one of the few restaurants I’ve been to recently we are noise was not an issue. The wine list was extensive and we had a wonderful and reasonably priced bottle of prisoner Zinfandel. Would unreservedly recommend this restaurant
Great neighborhood resturant with upscale food and wine. Great attentive service. Great date night option
If you’re looking for a fine dining experience restaurant in the Charlotte metropolitan area, look no further than the Fig Tree. From the moment that you enter the restaurant, you are welcomed and receive premium service throughout your stay. The ambience is exceptional as well as the presentation and quality of the mail that served. It’s hard to find a better total experience restaurant in the Charlotte area.
Had a wonderful night at the Fig Tree. This was our first experience and it did not disappoint. Rich was well spoken on all of the intricacies throughout the night. Can’t wait for another evening out.
The ambiance is warm and inviting. The Fig Tree is in a beautifully restored home just on the edge of downtown. Their hosts and servers were authentically friendly and attentive. Food is quality and well prepared. I personally found some of the menu pairings odd; For example, veal and shrimp. However, we enjoyed our meals and in particular the wine list. Lovely spot for evening business meals, dates, special events, and Sunday brunch.
Food is incredibly delicious. Waitstaff was kind and attentive; friendly hostess. Good atmostphere - not too loud, able to talk among ourselves and not have to overhear other conversations.
I have no photos from my anniversary dinner. That’s intentional. When you’re dining at the Fig Tree, that’s not the kind of thing you do. While there are “No Cell Phone” signs, the request does not ring pretentious; rather, it’s more a way to preserve the ambiance of this quaint little Elizabethan gem.
I have to give it up to my friends. For my husband (Marcus) and I’s 5th Anniversary, I asked for a truly phenomenal restaurant and they delivered. We received top-notch service, enjoyed some quality wine, and ate a spread of foods we do not often get to have – escargot, Elk Chop, Veal Chop (shame on the CLT gal), Blueberry Semifreddo.
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times and I always enjoyed it. We went specifically for the Elk, but we were all disappointed. I felt like everything were ok, but they all missed the mark of being really good. I really wanted to enjoy my meal, but it was not that great.
Really nice time. Food, wine and ambience excellent
Best restaurant in Charlotte. Food is always wonderful, the service excellent and the Chef works with my food allergies. LOVE
Enjoyable meal. Very well presented. Dessert was the perfect finish.
The food was absolutely amazing & our waiter (Curt) really made it a dining experience for us. He was so knowledgeable about the food & its ingredients and also about the history of the house. We were spending the day celebrating our son (who has special needs) and Curt treated him like a king! He even brought a plate of chocolates after dessert that said, "Celebrating (our son's name)". It was the sweetest thing and much appreciated! We would definitely recommend The Fig Tree to others.
The food was good. I had the salmon and my husband had the Mahi mahi with lobster. It tasted fresh but didn’t knock me off my feet. The dessert was better to me. The chocolate torte 👌 and my husband loved his peanut butter cake as well. Overall we enjoyed it.
Superb! Atmosphere perfect, service exceptional, food too we’ve had in Charlotte and comparable to many fancier restaurants in bigger cities. A true dining experience. Our highest recommendation.
This was our first time to the Fig Tree and based on the reviews we really had our hopes up. Charming old converted house and we were seated upstairs actually a few minutes ahead of our reservation. Our waitress was very much on top of her game. We ordered an appetizer apiece. My wife had the beet salad which she raved about and I had Foie Gras which was excellent. For dinner she ordered the lamb and I had the elk steak, which is one of their signature dishes. Both were perfectly prepared and were served hot off the grill. The wine list is probably the best in town although I am not a Charlotte expert by any means. Page after page of interesting selections from all over the globe. We also had dessert that was pretty good. I blame myself for making the wrong selection.
A little pricey but not crazy. Excluding the wine we were out of there for around $200.00
I don't know why bet they seem to ration the bread. One piece at a time and you have to ask.
Best meal I’ve had in quite a while. Amazing staff, extremely knowledgeable. 11/10
Nice restaurant with a beautiful setting. The ambiance was cozy due to the style of the restaurant and intimate setup. We went to have a night out for my birthday celebration and it definitely lived up to our expectations. Staff were exceptional and super friendly. Despite being a tad bit chilly inside, the overall experience was great and the food was superb! We'll definitely be back again in the future.
This was the best meal I have had in the 15 years I have lived here.
I took my wife there for her birthday. It is one of our favorite spots, and we got engaged there. The food is excellent and we always have good conversation with the knowledgeable staff. Very friendly, great atmosphere, and great food every time.
This spot was a gem. I picked this reservation for my birthday, not knowing of it's notable reputation among Charlotte foodies. Impeccable menu with interesting options, ones I would not usually pick, but they did not disappoint! Of note was the fois gras and anything seafood! Our waitress helped pair our wine and she was spot on. My favorite part of the Fig Tree, though, is the venue. It is an old house that's been restored into a phenomenal venue, great for special occasions or a date night. Don't miss this spot when you're in Charlotte!
1st class service and the food was exceptional. We had a lovely time.
A nice restaurant and there wasn't anything wrong with it or our food, it just was more stuffy than I realized. Very extensive wine selection, but very limited (specialty) cocktail selection. Salads were good and I liked that you could choose from various toppings for your salad (I got calamari on my caesar and it was very fresh and delicious). For my main course I had a special, veal scallopini, which was a little chewy. Desserts were fine, nothing particularly noteworthy.
Kirk was very attentive! Loved the food and the service. Will definitely come back!
One of our usual favorites but just seemed to have had an off night on the entrees we ordered.
Highly recommend, the entire experience was outstanding. Started with stuffed calamarie and had the lamb for main course. Extensive wine list, relaxed ambiance, great staff. Definitely will be returning
The food was great and the service was excellent. Place is a gem!!!!
The Fig Tree is The best restaurant experience in Charlotte. A quaint setting, professional service, great wine list and creative and terrific food. Whenever we are.there, it is filled with people celebrating special occasions. My favorite.place, period.
Excellent service and fantastic cuisine, a top notch chef. One of the best Charlotte has to offer.
Overall experience was great! Excellent service with attention to details. Presentation of food was spot on. Appetizer was the best! Halibut was better entree than Salmon , but it was close 2nd. The desserts were too small but tasty.
First time dining at Fig Tree. Ambience was eerily quiet on lower level, which gave way to a sterile and somewhat stuffy feel. Had escargot and veal carpaccio for appetizers. Escargot were underseasoned, and the gorganzola cream sauce was monotone in flavor. Carpaccio had a better flavor profile but still seemed to lack in overall flavor. Trout entrée contained king crab, some pieces of which were not thoroughly warmed through. This was not the issue though, as again, the flavor profile was monotone and suffered from any hint of acidity/brightness. Two positives: service was very attentive and wine list was extensive and well-curated. Perhaps the lack of seasoning and missing acidity and brightness in flavor (across the entire meal) could be attributable to an off-night, but in general, the ambiance and menu seem a bit tired.
