The Fig Tree Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We have always enjoyed the Fig Tree.
This time our service was as great as ever, but we were disappointed at the temperature of our food.
The restaurant was pretty busy, but for a restaurant with its standards, this might be something to watch.
While wonderfully prepared, the arrived no-so (disappointed so) warm. Coolish fish and veal chop is just not going to be great.
We will still go back, but I might raise the priority of bringing warm food with a server next time.
My wife and I ate here for a birthday dinner and we were very impressed, the service was amazing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and timed our meal courses perfectly, we were not rushed at all. The food was very tasty, fresh and seasonal. We will defiantly be back and will recommend anyone to try the fig tree.
Fantastic food in a stunning historic house. Service was excellent, ambiance was perfect for a date night, and the menu was very well curated. The wine list was great, the seafood special was delicious and my husband found the lamb entree to be perfect - jammy, gamey, and perfectly cooked. We’ll be back.
My partner and I came for our anniversary last weekend, and the food was stellar.
We both got the soup of the day add on with our entree, which was broccoli and cheddar, with goat cheese soup. The soup was phenomenal, the puree was a great texture perfectly creamy and I absolutely adored the goat cheese. My entree was the special of the day, sauteed striped bass over dungeness crab risotto, asparagus. Everything was cooked very well, seasoned well without being overly salty, perfect texture on the asparagus -- and a good amount of crab in the risotto.
My partner's meal was very good as well. Scallops over couscous and hominy. The scallops were absolutely perfectly cooked, very tender and sweet.
Service as very good overall -- they cleared the table professionally , between courses and based on the table size and the size of our party. The only thing I didn't love was that we felt a little " vibe" off of our server-- for not ordering an appetizer or dessert. He wasn't rude by any stretch, but we did feel a little vibe like we were being cheap, despite spending our anniversary there -- and it was for no reason except that my partner caught a cold and had almost no appetite but still managed to come out to celebrate. I did enjoy the cute homemade blondie that management brought out for our anniversary.
Overall it was a great spot -- romantic, good food, great service. Based on the food alone, I'd come back for a visit.
Menu was not extensive, but varied enough for almost any dinner. Preparation was excellent and portions were satisfactory. Waiter was educated to food preparation and the wine list. He was attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance was simple elegance and the noise level was perfect for conversation. Overall, one of the most professional dining experiences I have had in Charlotte and I was well traveled in my career.
Delaney, our server was incredible. Well trained and knowledgeable with lots of character. Between him and the impeccable service from the support servers, our meal was fantastic from top to bottom. The food was incredible, don't worry there. The wine list is 40 pages long. Your server will help you there with food pairing. Love this place. My clients were very impressed.
The fig tree is definitely worth a visit. The wine list is very large and good, especially if you enjoy selections outside of the normal Cabernet/Chardonnay options. The timing and service were on point. Everything we had was delicious with the exception of a very salty scallop. We did not bring it to their attention because the scallop was cooked PERFECTLY. The patio is nice if you can overlook the traffic noise. The establishment was very clean and organized. The fig tree met our expectations and we would recommend it in the future.
We celebrated our anniversary here after we'd heard so many wonderful things about their menu. It did not disappoint!! At the recommendation of our waitress we chose a bottle of wine which paired nicely with our meal. I chose to upgrade my salad to the spinach salad with goat cheese and pine nuts - totally worth it! For entrees, my husband had the elk chop and I went with the lobster. Both were excellent!! We were too full to order a dessert, but the pastry chef sent out a littler something on the house for our anniversary. Everything was wonderful, we will definitely be going back again!
What a great place. Had a business meal with 6 ppl. Read about it online and wanted to try. Everything about Fig Tree was great. Great service, great restaurant and especially great food. Apps were scallops dish and also chorizo stuffed calamari. Each meal comes with a house salad or can up grade ($3) to Caesar or another salad. Don’t miss the elk chop but those who had veal chop and lamb were just as excited about their meal. Superb wine list and our servers were very knowledgeable about the wines. Did not have dessert but others recommended. When in Charlotte you won’t regret making the trip to the Fig Tree. Cheers
Everything about this restaurant was perfect. The waiter was exceptional, very knowledgeable & personable. The meal was absolutely delicious, one of the best meals I ever had. The atmosphere is great, we had a very romantic table inside, but they do have very nice outdoor dining. I would highly recommend this restaurant, we are foodies & you won't be disappointed.
We had a table for 3 to celebrate a family birthday. We did not have a reservation (my mistake), but the restaurant was able to accommodate us on a Saturday night with a bit of a delay. We were able to wait at the bar. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the setting is very comfortable - it's easy to talk around the table. We would like to come back and sit outside. The Fig Tree is definitely one of our favorite dinner places in Charlotte.
We had an outstanding meal on a Saturday night. With the exception of a lackluster and largely flavorless veal carpaccio, everything was delicious. But if I could give a sixth star for service, I would. It has become virtually impossible to find a restaurant with enough staff, let alone a knowledgeable and properly trained staff. We also appreciated some special touches to our dessert in honor of our anniversary.
The only other concern was the $7 double espressos. Seems a little pricey, no? And served with sugar packets from the mass coffee distributor? Seemed out of place. Anyway, we look forward to returning.
My husband surprised me with a dinner and a show date night with dinner being at The Fig Tree. We are from California and have been looking for a restaurant like this to that our visitors will love. We cannot wait to go back and I look forward to the new seasonal dishes in 2-3 months.
Wine list - it's like a wine novel. So many options at all price ranges. We loved it!
Cocktails - they have some fancy cocktails as well as a full bar. Perfect start to our dinner.
Cheese plate - it came with 5 cheeses, dried figs, honey and delicious crackers made in-house. Great start to our entrees.
Trout dinner - my husband picked this dish and loved it. Seemed a little boring to me but I did try it. I was too in love with my pasta dish.
Pasta dish - I can't really tell you everything in the pasta dish but just imagine what you think Fall tastes like and that was this dish. Sweet potato, golden raising, cheese, butternutsquash in a butter sage sauce. Good Lord - I wanted to lick the dish. I did give my husband a bite and he gave it a thumbs up.
All in all, just go here and try it for yourself. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. We can't wait to go back!!
