This place was highly recommended and met our expectations. You won't be sorry!
Food was Fabulous. Service was Impeccable. Super Wine selection. Every meal was perfect.
Fig Tree was a great special occasion restaurant! The food was excellent and the servers were attentive yet not overbearing. Will be returning!
I was looking forward to celebrating our 7 yr anniversary. There were a few small details that I found to be a bit off from previous visits. Our waiter/service was very nice, efficient. The lobster tail was a tinge over done, so it was a bit dry, but again, things happen, it was edible but not as great as it had been before (i didn't complain). Also, it was our anniversary, I had mentioned it on the "notes" section when making the reservation, I wasn't expecting a free dessert or anything, but it would have been nice for them to acknowledge as other similar caliber restaurants have done in the past. We will definitely be back because it remains one of the best restaurants in Charlotte, just a slightly off night.
Fine dining, but relaxed and not stuffy. Great service and menu.
Incredible service, ambiance and food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to get away from the kids and have some quality couple time.
One of our best dining experiences, from the lovely outdoor porch table to the knowledgable and efficient waiter! Quite pricey, but we knew that going in so it wasn't a surprise.
It was our first time in Charlotte. Four girls went to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. The restaurant itself is very charming as it used to be a residence and still maintains much of it's original form.
We changed our reservation and they were extremely accommodating. We ate outside on their beautiful patio. The service was very attentive and leisurely. The food was fantastic! Among us we had trout, elk and lamb. We also enjoyed appetizers of foi gras, beet salad, octopus and scallops. Everything was delicious. This is a place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Don't go if you're in a rush.
The staff at Fig Tree provided excellent service and made the dining experience most enjoyable. You were sitted immediately (we had reservation) and the brought each food out at the right time. It was not a hurried experience but rather a luxurious dining one. The waiter explained everything well and was very attentive. We loved the food and the experience made us love the whole dining experience even better. Great job Fig Tree!
The Fig Tree is a wonderful place to dine and is a throw back to the old, stylish dining roons of the great restaurants of the past that no longer exist. We loved the food, the service and the pleasant staff. Be sure to ask for Nicole .... A wonderful, professional, smiling member of the wait staff. We ate there two nights in a row on our trip to NC.
Service was excellent. We had a portobello appetizer that was oitstanding. Both of us had a fish dish, the halibut with lobster , and a special, Opah which is a very dark meaty fish that I had not had before. Both were cooked perfectly. Wine is extensive with many unusual ones to chose from.
My husband & I recently had dinner at Fig Tree, and it was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. We were able to enjoy our dinner on the porch, and were fortunate that the temperature was perfect for outside dining. Our waitress was delightful, attentive and knowledgable. We each ordered the special, which was an opah fish served over cremini mushroom & kalamata olive risotto, and it was delicious. For dessert, we choose to share a carmel creme brulee and it was the best we have ever had. All in all a perfect evening!
We dined at Fig Tree this past weekend for my husband's 50th birthday celebration. Three couples from NY, PA, and MO who had never visited Charlotte. My husband is a chef and so I wanted the dinner to sweep him off his feet. The food was expertly prepared, the service was exceptional and the physical space is simply elegant and unique. Between the six of us, we could find NOT one thing that we would have improved on. This is the successful restaurant that we have always dreamed of owning! Kudos for managing to exceed our expectations and we will definitely recommend Fig Tree as a "not to be missed" dining experience in Charlotte.
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. The meal was great and the service was truly on point. I enjoyed the special which which was pork chop with garlic potatoes and butter spinach with fresh green salad and balsamic vinegarette dressing. Excellent!
Great place and great staff... fun and charming dining.
As always, Fig Tree did not disappoint us. Wonderful food and incredible service!
The menu was varied and interesting. Two of the three meals were very good (Trout exceptional, veal chop very good) but the scallops were interesting on the menu but bland on the plate. Everything was cooked and seasoned very well and the service was excellent, Ambiance very nice but as always (it seems) one overly loud table of 4 destroyed the ambiance somewhat. Otherwise a nice setting and nice but not great meal. I would go back but with lower expectations
We came here to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. We were blown away by the service and the food was unbelievable! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend.
Lovely ambiance. Wait staff was attentive but not overly so. Food was presented well and flavorful. We were seated upstairs at a nice table for two but next time will try for an outside table.
Food was delicious. Ivy was wonderful - engaged, respectful, & generous with time and suggestions. Her recommendation for dessert was perfect!
Dinner on the porch must be wonderful on a cool evening. Beautiful restaurant.
One of Charlotte's finest restaurants. The entire experience is always superb.
Highly, enthusiastically recommend Fig Tree for any occasion. It is not the most expensive Charlotte restaurant but is at the high end. Would choose this over all the others we have been to since moving to Charlotte Sept'13. James Beard judges, where are you????
We had a fantastic meal at The Fig Tree. Service was excellent and food just stunning. My wife had a wonderful halibut and I had the veal chop. It was so good that I recommended the chop to people at the next table. Portions were generous and with a salad ( included in the price of the entree), we were so full that we did not order dessert. We will go back soon.
The ambience was amazing. The wait staff were very knowledgable and polite. The elk chop was outstanding with the nice well rounded Cabernet recommended by our waiter. Lastly the chocolate sin was out of this world. Well done!
We have lived in the Plaza Midwood area for years but it wasn't until we moved a bit south that we finally made it into Fig Tree. It was fantastic, the ambiance and vibe are perfect for a romantic night out. Apart from the rather loud and obnoxious woman seated behind us, we had zero complaints. The menu was good, with classic and also a little more unique options. Everything we tried was nicely executed and delicious. Definitely try this place.
This restaurant was very quaint and we thoroughly enjoyed out visit there. The food was excellent, very well prepared! This is perfect for a very nice romantic evening on the town for a couple. The only thing I would've like to see was valet services, and that would've made our evening perfect!
Food was excellent and the service was even better...
Awesome food & service. I could almost cut my filet mignon with a fork! Garlic spead that is served with Bread is also excellent. Would highly recommend this place.
Loved everything from the setting (sat out on the porch), the service (knowledgable and personable), and the food (reason enough to visit)
Beautiful restaurant with quality service. Highly receommend
The food + waitstaff were great. First time at this restaurant + as we pulled up there were people dining outside it looked just lovely. We walked to the hostess desk while eyeing the downstairs interior which had nice lighting + decor. She greeted us + + then took us upstairs to a tiny room where I guess some might find romantic but I found to be just really dark, snoozy + uninspiring. I wondered why we weren't given the option of eating downstairs or upstairs as my husband had overheard the guests behind us who were also checking in be asked. Our reservation was later in the evening(8:30) and when we arrived and left their were tables available downstairs. Husband thinks we should give it another shot but definitely downstairs next time!!
If you go, get a table downstairs or outside. The tables upstairs are in small bedrooms that make for awkward conversation.
We celebrated my wife's birthday at Fig Tree. We both had veal chops, a superb meal. The intimate setting made our time together special. Ask for the second floor seating. We'll be back again soon!
Atmosphere was very nice and service excellent. Menu was interesting with unique offerings. Items we ordered were enjoyed, but quite frankly, notwithstanding an appealing presentation, the price did not match up to the offerings in my opinion. Enjoyed the experience but would not be inclined to return for a second visit.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Fig Tree and were particularly pleased with how the restaurant fit into the old house that it's in. I had halibut, which was very well prepared. The accompanying salad was also good. (My wife had escargot and raved about it. She also had calamari on her salad and said that it was quite good.) Bread was served with a wonderful garlic paste. Altogether, a great experience.
Very nice, elegant restaurant. Would probably only go back for a special occasion.
Really nice anniversary dinner. Could not have asked for better service and food.
Unfortunately the food did not live up to the price tag associated with it. Service, location, quality of food were outstanding but flavored we're not complex and or had too much going on at once.
Definitely a wonderful and romantic environment for a special couple. Quiet and relaxing. Chill ambiance. The food was delicious and well price. Everything was great. We shared mostly appetizers so I couldn't tell you much about the entrees, but dessert was butterscotch crime brûlée. Delicious. Enjoy !
From the first appetizers, to the excellent selection of reasonably price wines, to the choice cheeses with our salads to the main courses perfectly prepared we were delighted with the quality, the presentation and the service. Then we decided to try a variety of desserts. Each was absolutely perfectly prepared and a delight to the eye and palate. Amazingly our desserts seemed to simply evaporate in short order. The whole experience was great fun and we all were able to converse and hear each other due to the low ambient background noise and quiet service staff. We each tried an item new to us and everyone was completely pleased with the selection. Zach's wine suggestions were also perfect for each dish.
