Special menu for Valentines Day was good. Service was excellent. Not pleased with social distancing of tables in back room. Possibly that was because weather was too cold to allow outside dining.

What a great place to have a small business lunch! I wanted off the main drag, local flair place and The Fig Tree was my choice. Arriving, the hostess was so good and effective with making sure everything was just so. The appetizers (crab cakes & shellfish pastry) are to die for - a meal in themselves!. We opted for the salads but could have gorged on any item on the menu. Go to this place - Support this restaurant - they get 25% tipping for their care and service
Discovered this small place while researching some place new to try. I find out it is my decorator's favorite place and they love it. My husband and I too fell in love with the food, service and the cute vibe. We definitely we will be back and plan on bringing out adult children!
We dined here with family visiting from CA. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. Friendly staff and delicious food. Always a great experience and a treat to dine here.
The inside DR had no ambiance w black cloths and harsh lights. Needs some candles or flowers and better lighting. Quieter music. Menu font too small to read. It was very loud in the room. And one waitress spoke excessively loudly.but waiter was excellent and friendly. Shrimp n Grits were great and over priced. The SMALL warm mushroom salad was mediocre and overpriced.
For those prices some sides should come with the dish. The $15 cake was lovely and not all that good— just an impressive round slice. Too sweet with not great peach n brandy flavor . I think that What was the combination I can’t remember. We spend money going to good restaurants and were disappointed.We would love to see this restaurant make it and it has a pretty good menu if the pricing is reconsidered and if plates are larger or sides are added, and the dining room ambience is softened .The chef and the waiver we had were nice n friendly.
We went after church on Sunday. Menu was very limited "brunch menu". When I asked waitress if this was all they had, she told us about 6 other dishes they had available. So make sure you ask about non-menu items available. The 3 of us all ordered off the menu.
Food was great and in appropriate time frame for waiting. Thought lunch prices for a small meal, shrimp and grits, was high for lunch.
Don’t be discouraged if you drive up from the street side! We almost did not go around back but so glad we did!! The food was amazing from the apps to the fabulous dessert! The owner came over in an apron and talked about the prep of the food. The drinks were unique and awesome! We had the pork belly and scallops and they were wonderful. We had the shrimp for an app and they were so fresh! The dessert, a salted caramel cake was huge to die for!!! Don’t miss this little gem of a restaurant!
Quirky local restaurant for brunch - amazing Philly omelet! Intimate casual environment. Would have loved to try the interesting cocktail menu. Will return.
This was the best food we've had out in ages. We started with the seven-layer wedge salad which they were happy to split been myself and my companion. We shared an entree, grouper lightly blackened with a polenta cake asparagus and hollandaise. The fish was perfectly cooked with a lovely crust but soft and flakey inside. The crawfish egg rolls and crabcakes were also delicious. Great place with an interesting ambiance.
Energetic wait staff -- good service and fun attitude. Food was excellent although portions were somewhat small. I'll be back.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, when you pull up it is a hair salon in the front and a little confusing. Restaurant is actually behind it and is kind of confusing to get into. Once you figure out where it is it is truly worth it. Abbey our waitress was very down to earth and wonderful. Wonderful small menu with everything on it great. Just a really nice atmosphere with great service, great food and good friends.
Sat at the bar. Great meal. Great fun.
The food was very good, (as usual); however, what made it exceptional was our server. She was amazing. They were down 2 servers and you would never know it. Seriously can’t believe how amazing she was!
We were seated in the "overflow" area on Valentines Day. Lighting should have been dimmed to create more ambiance, and the background music, which really wasn't needed, could have been a bit lower.
The waitress quickly took my wife’s glass of wine before she had enjoyed the last drink, did not know or understand menu item. Very non professional!

This is consistently my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. My wife and I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with an upscale menu. Their updates on southern cuisine are delicious and their steaks are simply amazing - I've remarked "this is the best steak I've ever had" multiple times when eating here.

Everything we had was delicious! The crab cakes, truffle fries, fried green tomatoes, NY strip, pasta special...it was all great! Highly recommend.
Wonderful! Heat meal even though they had a few reservation issues. They accommodated us and everyone else and the food was awesome!
Service was good and very accommodating and friendly.
Too much use of collard greens for my taste as an accent or side dish.
I could have used a variety of seasonings other than the use of Jalapeño for hot or pepper accents.

Loved the food! Excellent flavor and great presentation. Cocktails were also wonderful. My only complaint was the space and ambiance. There was no space. The entry door opened to a small bar and table area. It was cold outside so very time the door opened we were blasted with cold air. The building is old and we sat by a window that leaked like air conditioning. The food was very upscale but the decor was not. Will I go back? Absolutely, I am an food snob and it was great. But it will definitely be warmer before my return. Wish this Chef would move locations:)

The good was fantastic! Our waiters was excellent and took care the best she could for lack of service. We had a party of 9 for brunch for my Mom’s birthday. They didn’t have enough coffee mugs for coffee and out of Prosecco for 2 out of 4 drinks available during brunch. Overall it was ok.
Great and very small place - not a lot of tables inside and larger patio area/seating. This is a hidden away Jem. Foodie level for sure! Very good! The inside of the restaurant is basic but you come for the food.
We had a very pleasant experience here. Unfortunately, they were transitioning into their winter menu; so the entree selection was limited. However, the service was excellent. They could probably benefit from the addition of a half dozen more wine selections, but otherwise there are no complaints. Recommended.
Wanting to try a new brunch place in the area, we went to Open Table and searched, found this and we didn't know where it was, hadn't heard of it. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. How bad could scramble eggs be? What a delightful surprise! Location was a bit hard to find, they are in the back of the building and we just didn't know what to expect because signage was so minimal. Ordered their Chicken and Waffles ( Nashville Hot) style - perfectly cooked, Ordered Fig Tree Hash and my husband loved it - stating it was the best he's every had and wanted another plate, not because he was hungry but because it was that good! Good Bloody Mary, wonderful quaint dining. We will come again!
