The ambiance was great, service was good and the food was lovely. Nice place to have a great dinner and enjoy conversation. Looking forwards to when the Terrace is opened !

Went to this restaurant 20 years ago when it first opened, and then again this past weekend. The food is outstanding. Our server seemed a little pre-occupied but was still satisfactory.

Wonderful restaurant with excellent cuisine, warm charming ambience and top notch service. The ride up to the restaurant in the old wooden freight elevator adds an interesting and fun touch to the experience. Highly recommended. Will return!

The service staff were very attentive and checked in when every course was served. The winter menu choices and wine pairings were excellent , tasty and nicely presented. Robert The chef stopped by which made the whole experience special . Thank you for a perfect anniversary evening. We will come back.

Absolutely amazing experience! We went here for winterlicious and not only did the menu have amazing dishes it was very inclusive, as I’m vegetarian and my boyfriend a full meat eater. Portions were as expected but they were super filling, even for my boyfriend! I requested a special surprise cheese platter for the occasion, and was super impressed with their accommodations & discreetness for the surprise. Ambiance was amazing, decor had so much character (particularly loved the tiny disco ball in the centre of the dining area - like comic relief in such a fancy place), all the staff was incredibly friendly & knowledgeable of the menu and I could go on! Overall, I’d highly recommend this place for those who are looking to feel like a million bucks without having to spend a million, and for those who are truly looking for a great place to share with great company! It’s a venue that fits all occasions, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

A unique space with good food and great service!

The overall experience from the front door staff to the old pull cord elevator was warm and inviting! Being able to bring your own wine and they decant it for you and serve throughout the meal was a pleasure! It was great to have a small environment and friendly service! Highly recommend it!

Very enjoyable evening, a little pricey however the service and the food make it a good value.

Food was good overall. The osso buco was somewhat swamped by the overly large serving of risotto. Although the meat was superbly cooked the dish felt and looked heavy and colourless.

all in all great...food was extremely good: tasty and well presented...our reservation was for 8 so i didnt really understamd why we were so rushed...i feel that more time could have been taken between courses...would still recommend both the restaurant itself as well as a special event venue...

Fantastic! Took my girlfriend for her birthday and she loved it. Would have been nice if we had bread served to the table without asking, but everything else was fantastic.

We had our wedding at the 5th and decided to come back to have our second month anniversary to relive it. The service and food was exceptional again and reinforced our wonderful memories . Bravo!

I was pleased to have visited the Fifth Grill & Terrace for a good cause that benefited Second Harvest but we really did have a fabulous meal! The food was so good and the service and ambience was spectacular. I hope more restaurants downtown jump onto these tasting menus to benefit good causes as it attracts patrons that would never have visited their restaurants previously.

I loved the service! Fifth Grill staff were trained well and gave that extra special personal touch to make each of my guests feel welcome and not just another table that needed to be turned over. We were able to hear each other and stay as long as we wanted, and most importantly the food did not disappoint.

While it's always fun to try new places, there is sometimes that apprehension as to what the place will be like. The Fifth is a most pleasant surprise with regards to food and atmosphere! A varied menu and excellent service made our evening most enjoyable. Although the terrace was closed for a private event, our waiter was able to give us a brief look for next time.

Went to The Fifth Grill & Terrace for an anniversary dinner. Went for an early dinner at 6pm so the restaurant was mostly empty. The service was good and attentive. We did not order alcohol but the bartender made perfect cocktails based on our different tastes. Food came quickly and was delicious ( I would strongly recommend their Carbonara it was amazing). Only negative which took away from the food and the atmosphere were the fruit flies. Not sure if they were all drawn to our table because we had food in an empty restaurant. The swarm of little bugs took away from the romance a bit. Otherwise delicious food and helpful staff.

Went here to celebrate our anniversary while in Toronto. It has some previous great reviews so I figured we'd check it out. We were going to just have oysters and steak, maybe the crudo but then our server told us they had a special of seared himachi and we were sold. It was quite possibly one of the best meals I've had. Everything about it was superb. I also enjoyed a craft cocktail and my date had a delicious Pinot noir. Just all in all really excellent.

Great. But steak was over done

My wife and i went for dinner on Saturday, the 26th of August. We really enjoyed ourselves, however our evening started off a little rocky. Let me explain. When we arrived the folks downstairs were great. They took us to the elevator, through the club and explained to us we could come down after dinner.

We were warmly greeted by a hostess on the fifth floor, and brought to our table. For a Saturday evening I thought it was a little quiet (8:30PM), and commented to the waitress if this was a normal Saturday night?

My wife and I both tried to engage her in conversation...to no avail. She really seemed aloof and lacked any personality for someone in the service industry. We ordered a bottle of wine, and she seemed agitated we were not ready to order our meal right away. My wife asked her a few questions, and we got limited answers. She sucked the energy out of the room.

At this point the wine came and I'm ready to go. We noticed a patio next to us (part of the restaurant) with a lot of activity going on...which my wife went over to have a look at. I'm literally looking for another reservation on my App and do not want to stay.

Jen comes back and says lets go to the other side...she spoke to someone over there and we had a table waiting! It was a great spot...great vibe..and the service was excellent. It begs the question why were were seated in the area we were in the first place? And secondly, how different the service and experience was with a new waiter who seemed to want to be there.

The ambience was excellent...the meal was excellent. Had we not been moved and got a new waiter, i would never go back. He saved the experience for us and we would return (but request a different server if it was the same woman) . It's a shame, that 1 employee could make us feel that way. Maybe management should ponder this when the restaurant is half-empty.
