The Field Authentic Irish Pub & Restaurant
Good food, good music, and a great pint of Guinness! This is one of my favorite places in San Diego and I try to come here whenever I visit the area. It is like a bit of Ireland in the states.
This is a real Irish pub so think rustic, not white table cloths. Excellent food and service.
Great place! One of my favorites! Great food and atmosphere!
This is a find! A truly authentic Irish pub/restaurant, literally imported from Ireland piece-by-piece, with everything - the food, the decor, the music - fitting the theme. The shepherd's pie and the fish and chips were both excellent. I'm eager to go back on the third Sunday of the month when they have Irish dancing.
Fabulous authentic Irish food. The sampler was awesome and the salad was excellent and very fresh. The bread pudding dessert was to die for. Our waitress was from Ireland so it was fun to chat with her. Great experience
Went for a late lunch. Food and service were very good. Back ground music was ver loud.
Always a good time. One of my favorite places in SD and definetly my favorite Irish pub. Food is authentic and the beer and liquor is high quality. Live music is a plus and all the decor has been imported from Ireland!
Superb service and food. Can't wait to return.
We were in town for conference. Only time we got out to watch football. Met local couple and had a great time. Great food too
Great food and service. Exceptional beer selection. Won’t find a better Irish coffee. Great place to dine. We will be back.
Servers were very friendly and we enjoyed our experience
Great food and awesome service. The beef stew and Shepard’s pie were as good as I had in Ireland. Couldn’t recommend The Field any higher.
Our server, Stephanaie, was amazing. Food was great, like usual.
Food was delicious, served was personable and very helpful with menu questions. Prices are very reasonable, looking forward to a return visit.
Dark. Smoky. Dank.
Dinner was “ok”.
Has to have it remade.
Friends mash and cabbage was good though.
Stopped in for brunch on Saturday with my Dad who loves everything Irish pub! Food was authentic and tasty! Fun time
Brilliant atmosphere, great live band and a free mini Guinness
Great service, excellent food., everything was excellent
Great Irish bar, good Irish and standard bar food as well as beer. Will definitely go back next time I want to go to an Irish pub in SD.
My husband and I are in town for the weekend and wanted a place near our hotel for dinner. I read great things about this place and it didn’t disappoint! We loved it!
We were there early so it was a bit quieter than we had expected but food and service were good and we had front row seat for al the passerby on the street
Highly rated on on various review sites. We disagree. Not terrible, just not great. Not 4-5 stars. Service was friendly and fairly prompt. Menu had a lot of traditional Irish Pub type items. The taste of the food was disappointing. Bangers and Mash was overly salty. The (Fish) in the Fish and chips was tough and leathery.
Nice pub. Waitress Rhona is lovely, she and the Irish staff always make me feel welcome. Closest vibe to an actual Irish local that can be found in this part of the world. Nice decor. Also nice to be able to sit upstairs or in the back away from all the noise on the street. Basically just a nice place.
An authentic Irish pub. A nice selection of pub fare. The lamb Irish stew, although served in a small dish was very filling - and delicious!
The food was ok, the prices moderate. It just wasn’t anything special. I’ve had better. But I’ve definitely had worse. The staff was very friendly.
Average food. The service was great and the second floor seating is phenomenal.
Authentic Irish pub with a great historic atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was great. I had the boiled dinner, my wife had the fish and chips and my friend had the shepherds pie. We loved all of them. Good Irish beer selection too.
The food is absolutely delicious!! Everything we ordered was fantastic. The servers have a tendency to race about with their heads down, so flagging someone was always interesting. But when we did get their attention, they were all very attentive. Music on the louder side, but it’s an Irish pub, so it goes with the territory. Dark wood with old Irish artifacts made for a very cozy, welcome atmosphere. The Irish coffee was SO good. Can’t wait to go back!!
Good Sandwich great fries . bloody mary was ok got to watch world cup soccer that was good
music can be too loud, stew wasn't hot, server was so direct and quick to move on I found it rude
Excellent fish and chips- drinks were good - shepherds pie was pretty good (prefer a crusty - broiled top instead of just plain mashed potato) service good- noise level pretty high but not completely obnoxious 😳 we will def be back!
Yes this pub is the "Luck of the Irish". Seated in upper level on the open window viewing street life in the Gaslamp.
Great seating in the second floor. Service was a bit slow, but it was a Friday night downtown.
Can imagine this place to be good at the right time..... just chose the wrong time..... we got there just as happy hour ended..... although with the 2 minutes to spare we were able to get happy hour in.... so that was good ......food quite tasty but not hot... fairly authentic Irish grub.....
My mother is from Dublin and she loves coming to the Field for an authentic Irish breakfast when she is in San Diego
Excellent meal at The Field! Started with the sausage rolls, which were unique, and then had the Sheperd's Pie, which was outstanding. Place really brings the ambiance of an Irish Pub. We also had the fish and chips were crispy and tender. Service was first-rate! Will definitely be back to sample other items on the menu.
Our office comes here every year for St. Patrick's Day and The Field doesn't disappoint! You can't go wrong with the fish and chips!
Food was awful! It was by far, the worst corned beef sandwich I have ever eaten. I do not recommend this venue.
The food was delicious, ambiance perfect. Couldn't find prices on menu, online, or at the restaurant...hm. It ended up costing a lot more than we remembered from previous visits, too. We've always loved The Field, but I must admit, the cost might prevent us from going more often.
Fantastic!!! the field is vibrant and full of life and a fantastic place to eat and drink and have fun
