Delicious meal, good service and best gluten free bread I've ever had!
The starter was excellent as was the sweet. The main courses were very disappointing with one basically just being very good meat with average chips and an average salad.
Coffee was served without petit fours and when questioned some chocolates which had just come out of the freezer and the jellies that other diners had were missing.
There was a lot of noise from the kitchen staff at the end of the meal.
Whilst the food was ok it was actually worth about 50% of the final bill.
Went for valentines.had a amazing meal as usual, food and service both out standing.
The Feathered Nest is a manicured highly attentive Cotswold environment. The thing that sets it apart and makes it genuinely special is that everything is in balance rather than being overdone. This is true of the location, welcome, level of personal attention and service, cooking and presentation, in which flavours are allowed to express themselves and combine beautifully, and the wine list, which has plenty of choice. It's expensive but you're buying more than just a meal, so best to relax and simply enjoy everything on offer.
Great Restaurant , beautiful flavours in the Food
Good as always , a good team ,well developed menu ,nice wines and wonderful rural cotswolds setting .
Not cheap but still good value for a quality meal and complete experience
We have been over a dozen times and have always been impressed with the creative and seasonal menu. The care in service, ambience and quality of food/menu is of the highest calibre - not just for the Cotswolds but for the entire UK.
Visited the Feathered Nest on a recommendation. The food and service were exceptional, with most of the dishes being seasonal in nature and so changing with regularity. The wine list was a treasure trove - made for a wonderful evening.
It was my birthday treat, so pleased we picked The Feathered Nest, excellent service, very friendly, delicious menu!!
Excellent venue in a great location for special occasions or just a very nice meal out. We had a great intimate birthday celebration. As always the surroundings and service were terrific. Food was outstanding as we have come to expect each time we go. Would highly recommend!
For me a bit too 'fine dining' for the building/location. General atmosphere somehow not relaxing. Food amazing - couldn't fault, particularly the 'extras' - the bread as good as it gets, the amuse-bouche utterly stellar.
But the service wasn't great, hard to get attention, left without menus or drinks for an age and the thing that ruined it for me was that when trying to divide the total between two credit cards the waiter kept announcing the amount he was entering into the machine front of my guest and then justifying himself when asked not to and I found this upsetting. Took much of the pleasure from what should have been a treat for both me, my friends and my guest.
We visited for my girlfriends birthday and to say it was outstanding would be an understatement!! Everything from start to finish was out of this world! The service from all waiters and bar staff was attentive yet not intrusive. The drinks were spot on (we weren't drinking alcohol so can't comment on the beers). The food, well what can I say about the food... it was practically perfection! Every dish was met with a joint "Wow!" quickly followed by "Oh wow, you have to try this!". It was brilliant!!!! I have only marked it down one start for value as it was quite expensive, but for that quality you have to pay top dollar I suppose.
Absolutely brilliant and we will be going back in the summer (so we can enjoy the views over the countryside). Thanks to everyone at The Feathered Nest for providing such a special evening!
Absolutely top quality food, beautiful presented & perfectly executed. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Plus the ambience, the view & the inglenook fireplace just add to the wonderful atmosphere. Five stars are not enough!
Had a lovely lunch here. The restaurant is in a stunning location with incredible views. The food was beautiful with good portion sizes. The staff were very welcoming and really helped with the experience. Would happily recommend to my friends and family!
We have eaten at the Feathered Nest several times, but on this last occasion, we felt the menu to be over-priced for the quality of food offered (dinner for 6 was £257, 3 were children and we did not even have starters!). Restaurant competition in high in the North Cotswolds and the Feathered Nest needs to adjust its pricing, because their food quality is not a differentiator. In addition, whilst the staff were friendly and helpful, they were simply too attentive, hovering by the table most of the time, which is unnecessary and disruptive to a family get together.
We enjoyed a leisurely meal one Saturday lunchtime - staff were attentive and friendly and food was delicious
Still one of the best places to eat in The Cotswolds. Other diners had travelled between 1.5 and 2.5 hours which says a lot. A great place for a special occasion.
It was the first time that I had been to the this restaurant, although my wife had been before.
I thought it was simply excellent............from the friendly welcome to the first class service, I simply couldn't fault it. The ambiance and decor was informal, yet very tasteful ; the food was outstanding and beautifully presented and the toilets were spotless - a real indicator of standards!
I certainly would go back again and would not hesitate to recommend it.
We always have a wonderful time here whether we are celebrating a special occasion or taking clients out to dinner - the staff are consistently charming, friendly, kind, attentive and extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of food, drink and service, paying care and attention to everything they do. I suffer from a number of food allergies and never have to worry about whether my needs will be met - one of the very few places I can wholly relax. Can't recommend any more highly.
Let down badly by being ignored when we arrived at 7.15 for our 8pm table. Asked many different members of staff to look at menu's and no one seemed to take responsibility or know what they were doing!
We were seated at 8.30pm after having 5 minutes to look at the menu, no apology from the
restaurant manger and very cold service.
Also had a call in the morning to say we must arrive half hour before our reservation time and will need to to seated by 8pm!!
The food was excellent and could not be faulted in any way.
It also took over 1 hour to bring out a small plate of canapé!
We have eaten here before and were looking forward to taking our friends, but feel we would not recommend or return in the future.
I often eat at The Feathered Nest and I am never disappointed. The food is excellent and I am gradually working my way through the menu. There is a lovely ambience. I have taken friends and family there and they all love it. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much bother. I am planning to go there again next week.
Wonderful lunch in the Cotswolds. Food exceptional
The Feathered Nest delivers outstanding food and service, with delightful extras such as an amuse bouche, homemade bread basket and post-dinner chocolates. There is an excellent choice of wines and pre-dinner drinks. However, be prepared to make a large hole in your bank balance - it is extremely expensive; priced like a Michelin-starred restaurant which it is not. We had a very enjoyable meal and experience - great for foodies who know their restaurants - but disappointed with the prices. It is child-friendly but think twice about spending that much money on a meal that may not be appreciated by young ones.
Didn't live up to expectations and menu limited
Winter night so not able to enjoy views
£150 for 2 and didn't enjoy
Went on a date Saturday evening, was a very relaxed vibe! Great food and drink, I expected it to be fairly expensive. Probably not for the average student, but you get what you pay for!👍🏻
very cozy and comfortable environment. The service was great. Love the food and wine. Definitely worth visiting!
Oh what an experience at the Feathered Nest! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They upgraded our rooms. The rooms were beautiful and spacious . The Cuckoo's Den had a lovely view over the meadows and the bar has lovely ambience and fire. The restaurant food was delicious and pretty. We had grouse, wild boar and mullet between us. It was my mother's 88 birthday and they really made it special for her. The desert was to die for. I had the sticky toffee pudding but it was so much more!
We would love to go back.
Excellent food as always . friendly and informative staff
Really great food, wine and service!! One of best gastropubs I have been! Lovely open fires and cosy feel!! But the prices are high in line with upmarket central London!
Ive said it before, ill say it again! -amazing food and service! Best Sunday lunch ive ever had! Superlatives are simply not enough! Mark
Absolutely stunning and memorable food, great view, friendly and attentive service, good gins.
Brilliant as always - fabulous food, service and ambience
Wonderful birthday meal for my husband. Service as wonderful as ever & the food was just amazing. A place which still has its heart and soul in the business which is rare. Love this place and will return again! Thank you.
never had a bad meal there, superb attention to detail, our favourite place to eat!
Warm& welcoming pretty dinner drinks by the fire while perusing the menu. Great food. Wonderful flavours. Staff friendly and service excellent but not intrusive. Would love to go back sometime soon.
As always, amazing food and very friendly staff, outstanding service. The best!!!
We arrived, ordered drinks and were very kindly shown to the leather sofas & fire which was lit.
It was my birthday and a "first date" with an amazing young lady.
When I arrived and said that I had a reservation for two, the South African manager (who I take great delight in conversing in Afrikaans with) asked me if I was Mr Plummer before I could same I'm Mr Plummer.
The food really was fantastic to the extreme. I ate the beetoot amouse bouche with tiny spoonfuls as I wanted it to last forever. The 2 starters and 2 mains were both 10/10. We had no desserts. When we came back to the comfy romantic sofa and my companion started to "flick her hair" repeatedly, the coffee and petit fours arrived in a "nest" which was clever. Also, written in chocolate on the slate were the words " HAPPY BIRTHDAY". Well I was bowled over because at no point was my birthday mentioned (even when I booked).
Thank you for an unforgettable evening. It was most appreciated!
The very best all round experience. You pay for it but we'll worth it. Absolutely excellent.
Really flawless: beautiful setting; comfortable, attractive, atmospheric dining room with stunning view; food delicious, well thought-out, and immaculately presented, service discreet but also friendly and good-humoured; a very varied menu, and a set menu which was excellent value for money. Wonderful!
Since first discovered this has proved to be a most welcoming place to visit.
The food is excellent, the menu interesting and varied.
The setting is beautiful.
