The feast restaurant - Holmes Beach, FL Ratings and Reviews
Greeted pleasantly at the door by a man who is possibly the owner. We were seated promptly after giving our opentable reservation. Our waitress Sarah was really pleasant and upbeat. She made us feel comfortable and really gave us a great amount of attention all while managing her other tables. The food was really tasty and prepared beautifully especially after comparing it to another “tourist trap” oyster-seafood joints we mistakenly walked into the night before. Care was placed with presentation and taste. For the money we felt the money spent on our two shrimp appetizers coconut and bang bang style shrimp was a hit and easily recommend those two apps. Our entrees steak dinner and mine was a special with lobster and large gulf shrimp with a rose cream sauce over linguini which we both loved. Definitely make a point to not overlook this great dining place in a shopping strip mall.
We went for a late lunch and it was a great experience. Lunch specials all sounded good and what we ordered was delicious. Crab cake and shrimp well prepared and served with sides was very generous. Scallops and shrimp very good also.
This is a small restaurant in a strip shopping center. Service was very good and we will go back!!
Since discovering Feast on our trips to Anna Maria Island, we find it to be a lot like our favorite eateries in Columbus, Ohio (our hometown.) Feast is welcoming, the servers know their stuff, the food is fresh and prepared expertly. They are adept at wine pairings, yet don't turn up there nose when my husband orders a Bud Light. We look forward to the next time!
This is a great local restaurant that leans toward fine dining but the dress is beach casual. The fish is fresh, the steaks are yummy , the wine pours generous and the servers are fast, friendly and efficient. Some think because it is in a shopping plaza that it can't be a really nice restaurant but they are wrong. They also somehow have the best pizza on the Island besides they excellent dinner menus. My only complaint is that the lights are far too bright for what could be a more intimate dining experience. they also have outdoor tables which many folks like. The owner really cares about the food quality. I am a local and live on the island.
Food was tasteless. One entree of fish was under cooked . I always take leftovers home. Not on this occasion. Very disappointed. I have friends who come to visit every year. We always go there for lunch and have been very happy. Will not return for an evening meal.
I have always enjoyed finding the small place that has outstanding food. Normally, I find them in large cities, but the Feast is one of those exceptions. Located in Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island in Florida, it is a great find. The food is good with local seafood and great taste. In addition to the very good menu, this place also has great pizza (I use it for carryout). Highly recommend this restaurant.
I made a reservation to eat here with my husband and 2 kids. We were seated in the main dining area and then a woman came in and asked if we would move because they had a bigger party coming in and they didn't have a table to accommodate them because another table was " taking too long to leave" and then they asked if we would move to a booth. We said ok and moved but the booth was right next to the kitchen and the hostess station and front door where my view was cleaning products. I had the grouper special. The grouper was over cooked and there was, what appeared to be, bottled chili sauce poured on it. My kids had the shrimp special and their fries were good. I was expecting to be comped a dessert or at least a drink for the move to the lobby after we had a reservation (we were only having soda). All in all the restaurant was a disappointment but I will say that their prices were reasonable so perhaps you get what you pay for. The management could stand an improvement with table preparation as before we sat down in our original seats I saw that another couple was seated at the table and then asked to move as well.
We always enjoy the Feast, and I think I've had about everything on their menu. Always an abundance of great food, with amazing flavors and presentation. We visit the island once or twice a year, and never fail to come to the Feast. They are the only ones who make fried green tomatoes the way my grandmother did!
Food is always great here, especially the seafood dishes. Good selection of wines and some craft beers. The server on Saturday night was not our favorite- we barely even opened the menus and she wanted us to order... but we have had excellent service here in the past.
I made a reservation online. When we arrived, we were seated in the "lobby" area where the traffic was heavy, a lot of take-out orders, and an extremely LOUD worker (maybe a manager) on the phone who interrupted our meal. We ordered 2 salads and a seafood dinner which took over an hour to get. When we asked about getting some bread, our server said it will cost you $7.00. Seriously? First restaurant I have ever been in where you need to buy the bread. We were not done with our meal, when our server asked, "Can I clear any plates for you?" Seriously (again)?
We felt rushed throughout our entire meal. We had 3 different servers, who we felt, just wanted us to finish up so they could have our table. There are too many good restaurants on the island to put up with this place. Will not be back.
I have been to your restaurant several times before. Mostly for lunch and once for dinner when it was not too busy. I had pleasant experiences. I cannot say the same for the time.
The tables are too close together and when they are filled, the noise level was interfering with our conversation and disruptive. My fried green tomatoes were very good, the grouper cheeks were cooked just right but I thought were flavorless. Both of these foods were set on top of lettuce leaves, which caused my food to get soggy. I would rather they just be on the plate. If the chef wants something for drainage of grease, I suggest he/she find something else. Soggy fried foods are not appealing. My salad was fair.
My husband ordered the grouper/scallops/shrimp plate. He had just fries to go with. The fries were delicious and he said the fish and seafood were delicious. However I was appalled at the scanty amount of food. Just a small piece of grouper, 2 shrimp and 1 scallop. For $25.00, there should have been more. Since it was our friend's birthday, he did not complain. But I was not happy with this.
Our friends had the brussel sprouts, which were very raw. The waitress quickly took care of it and got them some cooked brussel sprouts. Their main courses were fine otherwise.
The best thing about our dinner was the waitress. She was very pleasant under a stressful load. Can't remember her name. She was also taking care of the outside tables.
I would recommend your place to people for lunch.
Overall. I left with not a good feeling about my dining experience. I realize that it was VERY BUSY
and can understand some things going awry, but not at the expense of my money.
We went for delicious seafood! It was okay. Customer service was top notch - they accommodated us. But the seafood was not spectacular. Pizza was best thing believe it or not. It was cool to see that they supported local breweries but to be so close to the ocean and seafood to be so dull---underwhelmed us. We will be back for pizza though!
