I like going to Fat Raddish. The food is always good, maybe there could be more varied cocktails. They are able to accommodate my family, including my 2 babies in their stroller.
It is quite quiet, no need to shout to have a conversation.
The only drawback: the place is cash only, come prepared.
Service was absolutely terrible and while the food was good, it does not outweigh the slow and disinterested waiters.
Excellent food, service and ambiance, as well as great rustic chic design!
Food is better than ever. The Scottish egg is a brilliant appetizer, perfect for sharing and the duck and chicken were juicy, tender. In a word exceptional.
Entree portions were tiny for the price and we got sick after we ate here. Monkfish Vindaloo had a tiny piece of fish hidden under lots of sauce. The roasted chicken portion was embarrassingly small. Waitress was condescending.
Food was (literally) lukewarm; waiter was unpleasantly condescending. Generally unpleasant experience. It was easy to get a reservation here on short notice, and now I know why!
Loved the space, the service and the menu. Wonderfully crafted healthy food that was neither overcomplicated nor over "sauced." It is obvious that the staff, owners and chef love to live life around a table with friends and family.
Love this place and will definitely be back.
This place is by far our favorite in the city. The food didn't disappoint and the staff was amazing as always. We especially appreciated the delicious and non traditional wine recommendations.
Felt like a high quality version of the type of meal I would like to cook at home. Balanced and flavorful.
Cash only for brunch service. Kind of an inconvenience when FR accepts cards during dinner service.
Great atmosphere, cool little spot with a nice drink list. I think I ordered the wrong dish as everyone else enjoyed theirs and mine was just average/I didn't like the flavours together.
Aight, just aight.
Appetizers and snacks were fantastic - bacon wrapped Brussel sprouts and squash and burrata were great! Entrees could have used some more oomph in when it comes to flavor profile but the proteins were cooked excellently. I recommend for ambiance cocktails and Appetizers. Entrees left something to be desired but that may be because the bar was set so high following the first course.
I met a friend here for dinner. We were tucked away in a small table behind the stairs. The menu contains plenty of creative palette pleasers, including some delicious vegetarian options. My friend and I order 2 apps and 2 big plates and shared everything. We also enjoyed the ambience and had no problem getting caught up.
Wonderful meal, lovely ambience &
equally important: q u I e t!!
Great, fresh food! Really packed for brunch though. Could've been staffed with more people
Great food! The donuts for desert are to die for...
I was surprised at how lively it was but also happy to be seated so quickly. The atmosphere was upbeat and energetic. The waitress service was indifferent and she offered us nothing in the way of recommendations (first timers) or enthusiasm. The prevalence of man buns was notable. There is some trust thing in hanging up coats communally without anyone having any control but in practice, not so workable. You are in NYC on a cold night in winter and at least 90% of people have black coats. Hard to find your coat at the end of the night. The food portions were small. The taste - nothing overwhelmingly wonderful. My 3 guests felt the same. It's fun and its cool and overall I did enjoy myself but the food had little to do with it.
My friends and I shared a delicious weeknight dinner at the Fat Radish. It had a cozy atmosphere for a cold winter evening, and we warmed up immediately over mulled wine and creative cocktails. They had a nice wine menu too, and our waitress was helpful with recommendations. To start, we shared the crab gratin and squash salad, both of which were creative and delicious without being too heavy. We also tried the duck breast and sea bass special—hard to say which was better!
A great location, wonderful food and vine/beer
We will return
Wouldn't recommend it. Ambiance was great. Service was fair and the food was overly mediocre especially for the price.
The best gin and tonic I've ever had. The food is quality with great service. The look of the place is definitely our style with rustic flavors. Good price point. Would come back again. Great little spot.
Wonderful food, great service. What more can one ask for? Hubby and I went for brunch this weekend. I had the market mushroom, he had the huervos rancheros and we started with the pumpkin bread - all great. We will return. Maybe dinner?
What an adorable, industrial chic-yet-homey place with fresh, delicious food!
Great small gem with warm and friendly environment. Creative menu with the right mix of flavors and aesthetics.
We loved the ambiance of this restaurant. The servers were so friendly, even to our kids. We were visiting from Colorado, per recommendation from a friend, and glad we did. The burger was one of the best we had on our trip to NYC and the truffle parmesan fries were delish! We had a special treat of apple butter filled doughnuts from the manager which was a bonus!
Waking into the Fat Radish was breath-taking; I felt at home in a magical sort of way. The service was lovely and the food incredibly flavorful. I want to taste all the thingsame on the menu!
Not the best value for brunch... maybe it's a better dinner spot? The tahini and carrot ginger dips were almost tasteless, although the veggies themselves were indeed fresh but they left something to be desired, somewhat bland in preparation. The celery root pot pie was good, but not special. I just think that with all the great, creative food that is offered in that area and just across the Williamsburg bridge at a better value... Fat Radish needs to step it up. Service was great!
Pretty restaurant, very nice staff. The drinks and appetizers were amazing- have the scotch egg and crab dip. Our main course however was totally average and not what we expected. I would have liked to talk to our waitress but her section filled up and she didn't come by until we'd finished eating. I think the food is good but for the prices I expect everything to taste amazing. Better for drinks and small plates
The food is phenomenal. The decor is very rustic chic. Hostess and bartender were great. Server was okay. Nothing terribly wrong, but he seemed very awkward and uncomfortable compared to the service we received by the other staff.
As always, a fantastic experience. The food is excellent. The service friendly and efficient. A must go in the lower east side.
Unfortunately the food is really poorly executed at the Fat Radish. I love the look and ambiance, and this is the third time I go and the third time I ate poorly. It is such a shame, but i will not be going back. Get your act together people!
Fat Radish was GREAT. The roasted carrot appetizer was SO FLAVORFUL. Every time I took another bite, another unique flavor exploded on my tongue. The spaghetti squash dish was also heavenly, bursting with unique flavors. Accompanying it with feta and beets was a great idea. The pot pie crust was to die for as well. Oh, and the flourless chocolate cake--best I've ever had. Only thing to be warned about--if you order the "Fat Radish Plate" it is all steamed, not flavorings added, very boring, just know that if you order it--very healthy, but bland.
I loved everything about the restaurant - the ambiance, the vibe and the food. The staff was courteous and well informed about the menu.
Really great for lunch. Service pace can be a little leisurely and at night it can be an absolute zoo, but lunches are generally quiet and fairly relaxed. Great food, lots of veggie options, bowls with veggies and dif legumes as well as burgers and duck fat fries (so good!) Great for a quiet lunch or a busy noisy dinner
It was one of the best brunch I had in my life.
I really wanted to try it during my weekend in NYC and I wasn't disapointed !!
The service was beyond great and the food was so delicious we almost cried.
Food was delicious as always, though not best value. The problem was service -- once we were done eating we felt a lot of pressure to leave as quickly as possible even though there were plenty of empty tables. This is not the first time we feel like we've "run out of time" even as we continue to order food.
A bit disappointed this time. Waitress brought over the wrong entrée. SHe brought the same thing my friend had ordered. I decided just to have it as opposed to waiting. I thought the pork and bacon curry dish was dry. My friend ordered it without the curry and I so the two dishes were identical.
Had all the hallmarks of a great dining experience... interesting, artsy industrial dining room, creative menu, LES location, but they just don't pull it off. The execution was not great... the refried beans with the huevos rancheros were almost raw and hard as rocks, the steak that came with it was of poor quality, tough and chewy; the avocado toast had hard boiled eggs chunks haphazardly thrown on top and difficult to eat with the rest of the dish, and the squash with poached eggs was bland. I'd give it one more try, but was totally underwhelmed.
