This is a favourite spot of ours. The owners are local and lovely people, the food is good and refreshing alternative to all the chain restaurants in Langley.

Fabulous find. It was a bit of a drive from where I work, which is even further from where I live but I will certainly be making my way back out to The Fat Cow & Oyster Bar anytime I want amazing seafood. As an oyster virgin (never had one before walking in the door,) this place was amazing. They really can provide quality information about the food that they are serving. The service was great, the people are very friendly, the atmosphere is very nice and the decor is in good taste. Highly, highly recommend this place:) Will be back soon!

We ended up at the bar after making a last minute reservation. I do not recommend this. The bar is awkwardly high compared to the stools, and we are both 6 feet tall, I can't imagine anyone shorter being comfortable there. I had the steak with cauliflower which was yummmmmmmy, highly recommended. Husband had braised? beef over vegetables which was meh. He then disclosed that he got it cause it came with onion rings. It came with 2 wispy rings for garnish more than anything, so be aware, don't get this if you actually want onion rings. The service was excellent. The live music was fabulous.

The pork was good but dry .
I would have tried tophe seafood boil but I don't like mussels .
Overall good but could be better .

First time to the Fat cow. Interesting and unique Yes. Food was very good we had the "boil". Found the service was sporatic. Were seated at a table for 6 or 7 minutes before we recieved a menu. Five minutes later placed a drink order and within three munites were asked twice more (different serviers) if we would like something from the bar. The servers (5) were moving constantly around the restaurant helping each other out. This led to times of overattention followed by long times of dead service. At the time there were only 12 tables occupied (2 and a bit per server). From what I could see everyone was working hard. Summary you have to work hard but you have to work smart. Someone should have a look at how things are done and who does what rather than the "all pitch in" that I think is going on now. Overall I would go back.

Loved every minute! The host was friendly, quick, and helpful. Our server was wonderful, knowledgeable and accommodating. We went to celebrate our anniversary and the chef was amazing. I had forgotten to mention that we had food allergies and he instantly had no issue with whipping up something to eat that was phenomenal.Go visit this restaurant! It is worth it. :D

This was my fourth visit to The Fat Cow and whilst the food has always been exceptionally good aspects of the service has previously let them down. On this visit the service was immaculate and I was not left wanting.

The oysters were exceptional, the taste of the sea engulfed you. I dispensed with any sauces, they were perfect without embellishment. I didn't think this could be bettered then I tasted the beet root and goat cheese tart. Wow!

At weekends live music is provided and the musician on this evening was perfect for the venue. Rick, an excellent songster and guitar player, provided an enjoyable and diverse performance. He took into account the wants of the diners which was then reflected in an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere visibly enjoyed by all. It was a shame to leave. This was live music, in a small resturant, which enhanced the meal and occasion.

I whole heartedly recommend The Fat Cow, as long as I can still get a reservation.

This place is in the middle of an industrial complex but once you're seated you forget that quickly! The food was really good, as was the beer and wine. Our one server who poured water could use some tips on courtesy and patience, but the main server was great, rolling with our friends teasing. The live music on Friday night was really good at noise level, choice of music and quality. Overall we really enjoyed our first visit here!

Amazing! Our service was fantastic. ..food came out fast and we didn't go without anything we needed for long. The band was fun and the food...WOW!
I wish we could have had a different table because we were by the entrance but we soon didn't even notice it.

This restaurant is a rare find. It's located in a complex that one won't necessarily associate to have a cool restaurant in. I didn't even knew it existed if it was not for OpenTable. The menu is short and sweet and really plays to its strength - seafood. My bacon & corn chowder was awesome and best chowder I ever had. They sell them in larger containers to take home so I'm going to go back and get some. I had the cioppino - tasty enough. Next time I'm going back to try the mussels in different sauces. I fully recommend if you love oysters and seafood

The food and drinks were great but for the price I was disappointed in the portion size. We spent 100 and came home and snacked because the dinner was not filing. The ambiance is ok but the seats were not comfortable. Our service was fine but out server seemed ackward. Glad we
Tried it but would warn others to not come hungry.

Our friends told us about this spot, we would have never seen it all tucked away in a almost dead srtip mall, but man were we happy we went, the menu has loads to choose from, great prices and the food was delish! Our server was friendly and on it, never wanted for one single thing, can't wait to back!

There was a group of 8 ladies for my birthday on a Saturday night. It was all of our first times at the Fat cow and I especially was really looking forward to going. Overall I had a decent experience, the food was really good and I enjoyed the live music. The service was quite slow, being in the restaurant industry myself for a long time I am very patient however it was not busy to justify. My boyfriend wanted to do something special for our group and had dropped off 4 bottles of champagne earlier in the day, paid $20 re corking fee per bottle (and tax) and had asked them to be on the table for us...A simple request, not that difficult. Not only were they not on the table, when our server asked for our drink order, we ordered a bottle of champagne not knowing what he had done. Almost an hour later when he hadn't received a call or text from me, he knew we still hadn't been told. He had to call the restaurant to ask what happened and he was told that "we wanted a different bottle of champagne." Our group drank the bottle we ordered, 3 of the bottles he dropped off and when leaving I had to ask to take the 4th home that our server "forgot" to tell us about. The experience left a bit of a bad impression and my boyfriend is angry about the whole situation.

Two out of our three meals were excellent. The flat iron steak was undercooked and a poor cut.
The service for the meals was very slow, as though our waitress put in our appies, and then forgot to order our meals (We waited close to an hour for our mains). Drinks were good, and the beet salad was
brilliant. Nice atmosphere- somewhere different to go to in Langley. Would like to see more meat selections considering the restaurant's name. The singer and her guitar suited the venue perfectly.

The fried chicken and bacon waffles were amazing! Brussels sprouts could have a bit more flavour like bacon or Parmesan added. The oysters were good. The seafood bowl was fun to share with the mini corn on the cobs and tons of seafood. The desserts were disappointing after having such good dinner. The chocolate bread pudding tasted like undercooked cake batter. The orange creme brûlée was not so flavourful.

Live entertainment started at 7pm but we could hear her sing!

Would go back for the yummy food

I got the mussel pot with white wine cream sauce. It came to the table and looked delicious... The sauce didn't have alot of flavour but was still good, the mussels were just okay. I was alittle disappointed by them. Had the creme brulee for dessert and it was delicious.

This restaurant came well-recommended from the 'Edible' magazine for it's sustainable food practices, and it lived up to every word. The food is fantastic (lots of wonderful seafood and raw oysters which I specifically went for since they are hard to find in the lower mainland) and the ambiance was wonderful. The wine and beer selections were great and the food was presented very uniquely and in an interesting way. Loved the mussels and fresh warm bread served with them! They had a guitarist performing beautiful cover songs (Andrew Christopher) who we are now considering having play at our wedding this summer. He made the atmosphere that much better (but it was already great to start). Our servers (both female and lovely) were very attentive and warm, but gave us space to visit with our friends which is so important. They kept our water glasses and wine glasses continuously full which was such a nice touch throughout our stay. They also genuinely appreciated our business and invited us back.
Make reservations if you're considering going--it is busy.

Food was excellent and portions were huge. I actually could have split my chicken and waffles with my husband. I was there with my family after seeing the chef on the weekend morning news. We had the brussel sprouts which were delicious and my chicken and waffles were amazing. My father enjoyed the ciopinno and left stuffed as well. The wines were a little pricey. It was quite busy the night we were there so we did wait a while for service and for our meals but felt it was worth the wait. I would return again.

The food and drinks were fantastic! We went two nights in a row just because we loved the food so much and our goal is now to try everything on the menu! The portions aren't big so between two people you could easily order 2-3 appetizers or plates to share on top of a main. We had all seafood but the chicken and waffles and the crab cake burger looked fantastic at the next table. Definitely worth the price! We spent $100 each meal for the 2 of us and felt very satisfied. I would highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese, it's the best mac and cheese I've ever had.

The BEST Valentine's I have ever experienced!!!!!! I definitely would return to try different menu, Valentines was a 7 course meal with wine pairings. The Saffron and Hemp soup was like nothing I have ever experienced before, I wanted to lick the bowl :), I didn't. The salad had walnuts which I have strongly disliked my entire life, what was I thinking, this is what a delicious walnut is supposed to taste like. My Husband had the Salmon and I had the Pork Entrée, we swapped a bit, unbelievably delicious. The dessert was outstanding, who makes mini Crème Brule's with Banana slices? These guys do!! The Service was exceptional, friendly and humorous. The wine pairings were perfect. I look forward to returning at the end of the month with my girlfriends, and of course on my Birthday. :)

The Fat Cow Restaurant is an experience most definitely worth trying. The staff are friendly, the crowds are energetic/fun, and the food was...delicious!! But I just want to note that I first checked the menu and made a reservation for 4 on Valentines Day through Open Table! Few days after, I received a call advising that there was a set menu on the 14th, which was not what we were hoping for. I changed the reservation to the 13th so we could first try the experience of the original menu. Prior to our date out, we checked the Fat Cow website and were excited with our menu choices in mind. When we were about to order, we were advised that the menu was not as posted on the website which was disappointing. But hey, we had a great night!!!! Thank you!

The menu looks good, the room is nice. The execution and service didn't keep up.

A bottle of sparkling water for the table shouldn't seem like an odd request. The server "had to see" if they had it. When she found it, it was delivered warm, with no ice until we asked for it.

Every item of food was over salted. Having spent 15 years behind the line in high-end restaurants, I like salty food. I'm familiar with how it's made and I know which items should be more salty than others. The duck poutine was too salty to finish. So was the jambalaya risotto.

The risotto had a texture that was totally wrong. It should be creamy and rich, instead it felt like it was made with normal, long grain rice. The flavour was good (apart from being over salted), but there was no starchy creaminess at all. The rice just fell apart.

The fries in the poutine were soggy and undercooked. The duck and cheese were piled on to and just melted into a giant lump.

We were seated shortly after a large party, so some consolation must be made for that. The restaurant was very busy. But, we were seated without menus (a fact that the hostess didn't even acknowledge as she walked away without a word). The first course took well over half an hour to be delivered. If you're that busy, at least send out a bread basket or amuse bouche. Or give the impression that you're aware of the wait. Instead, all attention was focused on the big party.

Overall, it's worth a second chance, but only due to the potential of the menu. If they don't execute the food better and up the service to a basic, professional, level, we won't be back. To spend over $100 on dinner for two (only one cocktail, no wine) is fine, almost expected these days, but not for salty food and negligent service.

This restaurant has become our favourite 'go to' place. We love the casual atmosphere, where the owner(s) get to know you. We enjoy the live music on a Saturday evening. Everything we have tried off the menu is just wonderful, but there are some things we go back to again and again, such as the beet salad, stiletto steak, chicken and waffles, as well as the gourmet burger. Overall, a great dining experience, and close to home as well.
