The Farmhouse at Turkey Hill offers diners a premium dining experience in the Farmhouse restaurant featuring the finest local ingredients with a continental flair. The property also offers a microbrewery with a casual restaurant located in the barn - Turkey Hill Brewing Company (Please note the Brewery does not accept reservations). Our Farmhouse menu changes frequently to insure the freshest ingredients, highest quality and current trends in the culinary world. We work closely with area organic farms and producers whenever possible to encourage a strong local interest in agriculture. This was our first time here for a special occasion and it was definitely worth the hour drive. Very quiet and pleasant atmosphere and the food choices were superb. Great menu selection and our servers were courteous and explained all of our questions in detail. To some, the prices might seem a little high; however, it is in line with most of the other "higher quality" eating establishments in the area and personally, the atmosphere is better at this location. Perfect for that quiet get away evening. You will not be disappointed.
I had dinner with a friend before moving to Texas. Just had to visit one last time! I had my prom dimmer here in 1989. It’s still my favorite place for special occasions.
I started with the shrimp appetizer. It was lovely. Three nice shrimp
Cooked to perfection served over rice with a white sauce then tipped with green onions. It was perfect. Then I had the crab cakes, very nice with just a touch more sauce then I like but it was easy to move it to the side. Then I had the soup du hour, which was a chicken barley.
My friend had the chicken special. It was crusted I’m nuts and served on a apple cider reduction. It was perfect. Dessert was the raspberry marscapone cake. It was lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Farmhouse at Turkey Hill. It was a fine dining experience all around. The food was delicious, the service superb, and we were allowed to dine. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially for a special occasion.
It is a wonderful atmosphere and a nice place to visit. The food was average at best; one dish dry and over cooked. Soup was a special but average at best. Service and everything else was wonderful. If you are used to fine dining and expect great food this is not the place but it is very nice to visit for a quiet celebration.
The Inn at Turkey Hill was wonderful and the dinner was just as fabulous. Service was friendly and attentive both at the bar (Alex) and at dinner (Giles). The wines were reasonably priced and the pour on my single malt was impressive! Most importantly, the food was delightful. My rib eye was cooked perfectly, and my dinner companion raved about his scallops special . I definitely recommend it to anyone needing a place to dine or stay in the Bloomsburg PA vicinity.
Nice place to celebrate my parents' 50th Anniversary. Lovely variety of unique entrees that you don't find in everyday restaurants. The house salad was crisp, fresh, and colorful with ingredients that went well together. Dinner rolls were crisp on the outside and perfect texture on the inside. The duck was prepared nicely with crisp skin and tender meat. Banana bread pudding for dessert was delicious, and there was plenty for sharing!
Cozy atmosphere, whether in greenhouse overlooking duck pond or in farmhouse. Top-notch cuisine--blackened salmon was fabulous. Desserts are out of this world and homemade. Service is top notch--can't get better service anywhere. Continental breakfast was fabulous with chicken sausage, cheesy grits, and potatoes with mushrooms and peppers, plus a wide choice of pastries. This is truly fine dining with equally fine service. Bloomsburg is lucky to have such a nice restaurant. And the prices are very reasonable. Glad we experienced it. We will be back.
I hate to start out a review like this, but when we arrived we were seated by a man that looked like he needed a shower. His cloths were wrinkled and his hair extremely greasy. It initially put us off, hoping he had nothing to do with our food service.
We were seated in the sun porch which is quite nice.
3 at our table had Caesar salads & said they were good. I had the crab cake appetizer w/an aioli sauce. The cakes had nice pieces of crab in them & were tasty. The only thing I would have liked was a little less salt. 2 had the pork chop special. They were not asked how they would like it cooked. Both were well done and over cooked ( no bone). One person had the veal dish. She said it was ok.
I had the Parmesan chicken on a bone. It was cooked properly and was good. The potato side was also good. I liked the choice of veggie ( snow peas, eggplant & yellow zucchini(?)) but we would have preferred them cooked less. The cream brulee was good as well.
I was disappointed though. I'd asked for my left overs since I had only eaten 1/2 the meal. There was miscommunication between myself & the waitress because I didn't get them. With all that said, we would go back again.
At first glance, you immediately feel like you've walked into a quiet country home for a from scratch dinner. The staff greet you with a friendly welcome in professional attire you'd expect to see at a high class restaurant. The maîter d' pulled out the chair for my fiancé before I could. Waitstaff are very knowledgeable and easily explain the menu to you. Wine, alcohol and beer list should fit any pallette. Food choice is well rounded and amazing. They definitely take fine dining to a level everyone can enjoy.
We were delayed for our reservation because a wreck shut down the interstate and it took us almost an hour to drive 1.5 miles. We called the Inn to let them know what had happened and offered to find another place to eat. They assured us that they would adapt and greeted us graciously when we arrived. The food, service and surroundings were absolutely delightful and matched the quality of our greeting. I would enthusiastically recommend the Inn for a meal.
My husband and I liked the food overall. We however felt that the goat cheese and mushrooms were overly salty. Particularly the mushrooms themselves. I had the breakfast pizza with eggs and was not thrilled with the combination. I asked for the ham and cheese omelette and was surprised at the size of the chunks of ham. The lollipop lamb chops were delicious as were the scallops . The duck was very good. We were pleasantly surprised by the raspberry sorbet. Quite a treat. We will definitely be back.
We went here for our anniversary and they decorated our table with confetti and greeted us by wishing us a happy anniversary. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. At first my husband and I thought we were out of our element but everyone made us feel welcomed and all of our needs were met. You might want to dress up a little to go there but I don't think dress coat or tie are needed.
We loved the soft music and watching the ducks was entertaining. This was the perfect place to spend our 15 year anniversary.
My husband and I had been to Providence, R.I. and stopped at the Inn at Turkey Hill based on the recommendation of two sets of friends in Sewickley, Pa.
We were very pleased with the friendly atmosphere, generous room, great service in the dining areas and variety on the menu. Both the presentation and explanation of the menu was top notch.
We have already spread the word to friends and would definitely stop again.
Loved the ducks, and the continental breakfast.
Wish we could have stayed longer.
I took a chance based upon the other reviews on open table. Amazing place. We were in the area for a family weekend, graduation and Father's Day. Amazing food and service. My children (foodies in their teens) loved the experience and the opportunity to walk the grounds after dinner. Definitely worth the drive!
