The Farmer's Daughter Ratings and Reviews
This was a fun location for my one-year anniversary date with my girlfriend. The decor is probably what I liked about it most, giving it a quaint, upscale farmhouse feel. However, the music choice interfered with the potential for a quaint ambiance. Pop music was playing the whole time, which created an unnecessarily cheap feel. Overall, it was a pleasant, relaxed dining environment, with friendly, helpful service. The food was all very good. I appreciated the variety of options and original dishes, mostly in the appetizers section. I will admit that several of the dishes were described to be more sensational on the menu than they ended up being, but not deceivingly so. My final minor criticism is that the overall experience had more of a commercial feel than I would have liked. It was partially the hotel complex it was part of but things like the chairs in the dining room and the casual nature of the server contributed to that. Overall it was a worthwhile, enjoyable restaurant. I would like to go back in warmer weather when I could eat at the outdoor seating.
The selections in "What would you recommend this restaurant for" don't seem appropriate -- the food was fresh and good, the service was great, and although there were several loud and drunken weddings going on elsewhere in the complex, our party had a wonderful meal. We always look for restaurants where you can actually have a conversation while you eat, and where the food is local as much as possible, and The Farmer's Daughter fit the bill. Tapas? Waterfront? Live sports? Not in any way applicable here, and thank God for that.
Our waitress Nancy is perfectly attentive.
Not too much; not too little. The dinning room host is equally attentive and friendly.
While the variety is good, more fresh fruit and homemade muffins would be ideal. I have recommended the brunch to coworkers many times.
Wide variety of delicious entrees, and breakfast foods. From raw oysters and cooked to perfection jumbo shrimp to Eggs Benedict. There is also a turkey breast or cut of steak at the carving table. Lots of omelet varieties...and the dessert table is to die for!!!
This was a pleasurable experience. We were welcomed . The service was great. One of my friends is blind and they met her needs with grace and skill. She felt very comfortable . We all had the Chicken salad sandwich . It was very tasty . The atmosphere was nice . We were seated in an area where we could talk and hear each other. We were not rushed. All in all a pleasent experience for all.
Will return again.
The Farmers Daughter is always a good choice for dinner. This time I was with a larger group and we all enjoyed the evening and the food. Food took slightly longer than expected to make it to the table but probably because they were quite busy this evening.
This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time!!! I am a vegetarian and ordered the tofu dish and was not disappointed! Tofu was cooked to perfection! My husband had steak and loved it. We started off with a cheese plate and Pinot noir. The ingredients here are incredibly fresh. Well worth the cost! Highly recommended.
I tok ao party of 6 family members to The Farmer's Daughter for Lunch, celebrating my grand-daughter's birthday.
Service was prompt and courteous, to the point of making it possible for my wife to order
' Oysters Rockerfeller' from the lunch menu. I ordered a crab cake. The others ordered varous sandwiches.
When my wife's ysters arrived, they were tiny, and FRIED, and my crab cake was very dry, with a 'crust' on the bottom I couldn't cut through, obviously overcooked.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We couldn't have been anymore impressed. The ambiance and service was awesome. The cocktails and appetizers were delicious leading up to the most delicious dinner I have had in a very long time. It could not compare to even the most elite 5 star restaurants I have patronized and the icing on the cake is casual dress making it even more comfortable while enjoying soup to nuts. Sue
Well today We celebrated a Birthday here at the Sunday Brunch... AMAZING... is the only word for it . Everything from soup to nuts - omelette station- eggs Benedict station salad bar - every breakfast meat you can name - carving station.. the prim rib was very good - lunch meat display tons of lox... a raw bar and a dessert arrangement worthy of royalty. The breakfast cocktails were delicious and our excellent waiter Randy surprised our Mom with a special birthday treat - even singing happy Birthday to her... the atmosphere has been recently changed - its more modern- I liked the antiques and such from before but the new look is very nice as well. The atmosphere is open and roomy - the staff are very pleasant and very accommodating. A great dining experience
We ordered the NY strip and the grilled whole bronzino for our entrees. Not only was the NY strip cooked perfectly but it was a generous portion of steak. It was juicy and had a nice smoky flavor to it. I love bronzinos especially when it is served whole and grilled. Most restaurants serve filets. But when it's served whole, you can really tell how fresh the fish is.
My husband an drew I were so excited. We only saw our server twice. My risotto was crunchy and my husbands overnight shortrubs were extremely dry. We did not finish our meals.
The turned off the fire pit and were cleaning everything so early. It felt rushed and unwelcoming. Will not return
The brunch was far less variable to other local all you can eat brunch places but still the same price. I had to ask the omelette cook to keep cooking my omelette so it wasn't undercooked. The waitress often was rude and rolled her yes when I asked for things like my dirty plates to be cleared and hot not lukewarm coffee. There was also a swarm of bees on the patio and we were not allowed to move inside despite a half empty dining room. Given the price and lack of esteemed quality I would not be back for this price or service. There was also empty beer bottles in the flower bushes from what I assume was a wedding the night before.
Great service - not your usual recipes make for adventurous eating. One of us loved the salmon but weren't enthusiastic about the accompanying salad concoction. Portions are generous. Shrimp and steak kabobs were very tasty. Sorbet dessert is a very large portion. Key lime pie was excellent.
We had come to this venue for their signature brunch 2 years ago. It was outstanding
We were very disappointed in our visit this time. We traveled 3/4 from Philadelphia to host our 93 year old mother. I would not make the effort. Our waitress seemed uninterested - did not offer dessert - which we wanted. The portions were small as well. An expensive lunch - some of our entrees were tasty.
We have been there before and brought friends thinking this was a very nice place to entertain them.
This time we're very disappointed and embarrassed
food was cold (at hot stations) should have a chef making breakfast not 3 young girls who have no idea .....
The selection was also not appealing
