The Farm House Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
THE FARMHOUSE IS AN AWESOME RESTAURANT FOR A SPECIAL NIGHT OUT OR, FOR THAT MATTER, ANY NIGHT OUT. THE FOOD IS GREAT AND CONSISTENT. SERVICE IS AWESOME. IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED THE FARMHOUSE, YOU SHOULD MAKE IT A "MUST DO". LIMITED SEATING SO MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE YOUR TABLE QUICK.
THANKS FOR MAKING OUR "VALENTINE DINNER" GREAT!
Our server was the highlight of our visit. The menu sounds good, but is poorly executed. I ordered a wedge salad and the ribeye special. The wedge was an oversized chunk of iceberg with a dollop of subpar blue cheese dressing. The ratio was completely off. The bacon on it was burnt to a crisp and was almost painful to chew. I was completely famished though so I ate it. My steak was unevenly cooked. Parts were mid rare others were well done. The mashed potatoes were dry, crumbly, and absolutely inedible. The worst was my steak. This was no ribeye. I specifically order ribeye when I order steak because I enjoy the high fat content, the flavor, and the juicy tenderness from that cut. This was lean and chewy. It ate like a mediocre New York strip. The kitchen swore it was a ribeye, but in all my years of ordering that cut I’ve never had one like this. Maybe they need to order their steaks somewhere else. My other half ordered the primavera with chicken. It wasn’t terrible. It was bland, but at least edible. I don’t think I’ll ever come back here.
Love it for Sunday Brunch. Good food, good service, good prices, pleasant atmosphere. Small golf club environment. Can fill up w/o warning so call first, but usually available. Summertime outside patio seating available near putting green and golf cart path. A full parking lot is common but does not mean the restaurant is full.
Great meal with friends, The shrimp bisque soup and French onion soup were delicious , our party of four also ordered the calamari appetizer , a very nice dish , a little spice and some balsamic glaze make this a great dish. The fish special this evening was striped bass and it was excellently prepared ( we have eaten here many times and they always have a weekend fish special and it has never disappointed). Great attentive service , excellent food , reasonable prices on both the food and drink , adds up to an excellent dining experience !
Great Saturday night meal , we started with a beet salad and classic Caesar , both fresh and delicious , we both got the special This evening , the Artic Char ( lemon thyme sauce) with a mushroom risotto and asparagus , Very nice dish , the Char is a nice diversion from salmon and this restaurant prepares it expertly. Service was great , a nice dining experience on a frigid night.
We have always enjoyed the Farmhouse, ever since we "discovered" it a couple of years ago. Good food, friendly people, nice bar and great music on Friday nights. We always meet nice people here, have a lot of fun. Outdoor dining overlooking the golf course is a plus in warmer (LOL) weather. Feels like home.
Sweet & Cozy. I’m fortunate to be just around the corner but it is worth the trip for people who want to get out of the city for a change. The scenery is beautiful all year long. Entertainment inside and outside in the summer. The food is ALWAYS delicious. The cocktails worth it .The servers could not be nicer or sweeter. You will not be disappointed.
This was my families first time here, I was with my husband and two children ages 13 and 9. The food is excellent, we had the lollipop lamb and calamari to start. The Lamb was delicious and calamari was very good. Since the menu is not really "kid" friendly our server (who was lovely)suggested pasta with red sauce for my youngest which was appreciated since it was an off menu item. My husband had the salmon which he said was excellent, I had the scallops which was also delicious, you only get 4 which I thought was a small portion for a dinner entrée and for the price, however they were great and made up for the portion size. My son ordered the Pork dish and he raved how good it was. The seating area for the restaurant is small - not a lot of tables, however I happen to not like crowds so it was perfect for me. We chose to try this place since it was 1000 points on opentable and wanted to try something new. We will be returning.
Went there the Friday after Thanksgiving to celebrate my mom's birthday. Restaurant is small and was pretty much empty, and because of that, the music from the adjacent bar was loud. Maybe it was an off night for the restaurant, and with more people in the dining room, the music would not have been so loud.
Had a fun and casual night. Sat at the bar and talked with the Bar tender Travis and some other customers sitting at the bar. You'd be amazed how good their Steak Sandwitch is. I have been going here for years and about a month or so ago Travis said try the Steak Sandwitch it's really good. Boy was he correct.
We were there for Sunday dinner. My wife had the fish special which was Pecan Crusted Artic Char which she loved. I had the Veal that's on the menu and it was also delicious. In case you don't know on Sundays they are a BYOB. The food and service are always excellent.
Great meal and experience at the farmhouse Saturday night. Food and service were excellent , there were also a couple entertainers in the bar singing classic folk and soft rock songs. For dinner my date had the Cesar salad as an appetizer , this was classically prepared , fresh and delicious , I had the arugula salad , a very nice mix of arugula , blueberries , feta , garlic, shallots and a champagne vinaigrette also very delicious. For dinner my date had the scallops prepared with asparagus and forbidden rice , she was quite happy with this dish. I had the special Pecan Crusted Arctic Char
Citrus-dill beurre blanc, mushroom and asparagus risotto, wow this was a big city gourmet level dish , the fish and risotto were outstanding. We enjoyed a fine New Zealand Sauvignon blanc (lobster reef) . Overall a 5 Star night at the Farmhouse , kudos to the front and back of house!
Outstanding meal and service for our party of 6 , calamari appetizer is a delight , charcuterie plate nicely done , Our party of 6 were all very happy with their meals , double stuffed pork chop special ( stuffed with apples and Brie just brilliant) , multiple members of our party had the veal very tasty, others had the salmon , scallops and pasta carbonara , there was a very pleasant singer in the bar entertaining us , her rendition of Pink Floyd’s wish you were here was hypnotic. All in all an outstanding experience .
The Farmhouse has an excellent brunch. They’ve changed up the menu and today I had the eggs Wilber which is Poached Eggs over Pork Roll on Rye Bread and topped with Hollandaise. It was delicious but I would have liked more Pork Roll. Their Eggs 🥚Benedict is also delicious 😋 my wife had the Scramacopida (not sure of spelling) it’s scrambled eggs with spinach and Feta Cheese.
I can’t finish a Brunch post without mentioning the Bloody Mary made by Travis. It truly is one of the best I’ve ever had.
Dena was our server and as usual she did a great job.
Great meal and experience at the Farm House Saturday night, My date and I split the Cheese & Charcuterie appetizer plate ( good mix of 3 cheeses and 3 meats , toasted bread and fig compote). For Dinner I had the Porterhouse ( good value for a nice size steak , compound butter made it excellent), my partner had the Veal Escalope's ( good tender veal and excellent sauce), we also enjoyed a very nice value priced Napa Meritage ( 2010 Cameron Hughes Meritage) , there was some entertainment this evening ( guitar player/singer in the bar area) , the service was excellent. Great overall fine dining experience in the Philly suburbs for a very reasonable price .
