The Farm House Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Went there the Friday after Thanksgiving to celebrate my mom's birthday. Restaurant is small and was pretty much empty, and because of that, the music from the adjacent bar was loud. Maybe it was an off night for the restaurant, and with more people in the dining room, the music would not have been so loud.
Had a fun and casual night. Sat at the bar and talked with the Bar tender Travis and some other customers sitting at the bar. You'd be amazed how good their Steak Sandwitch is. I have been going here for years and about a month or so ago Travis said try the Steak Sandwitch it's really good. Boy was he correct.
We were there for Sunday dinner. My wife had the fish special which was Pecan Crusted Artic Char which she loved. I had the Veal that's on the menu and it was also delicious. In case you don't know on Sundays they are a BYOB. The food and service are always excellent.
Great meal and experience at the farmhouse Saturday night. Food and service were excellent , there were also a couple entertainers in the bar singing classic folk and soft rock songs. For dinner my date had the Cesar salad as an appetizer , this was classically prepared , fresh and delicious , I had the arugula salad , a very nice mix of arugula , blueberries , feta , garlic, shallots and a champagne vinaigrette also very delicious. For dinner my date had the scallops prepared with asparagus and forbidden rice , she was quite happy with this dish. I had the special Pecan Crusted Arctic Char
Citrus-dill beurre blanc, mushroom and asparagus risotto, wow this was a big city gourmet level dish , the fish and risotto were outstanding. We enjoyed a fine New Zealand Sauvignon blanc (lobster reef) . Overall a 5 Star night at the Farmhouse , kudos to the front and back of house!
Outstanding meal and service for our party of 6 , calamari appetizer is a delight , charcuterie plate nicely done , Our party of 6 were all very happy with their meals , double stuffed pork chop special ( stuffed with apples and Brie just brilliant) , multiple members of our party had the veal very tasty, others had the salmon , scallops and pasta carbonara , there was a very pleasant singer in the bar entertaining us , her rendition of Pink Floyd’s wish you were here was hypnotic. All in all an outstanding experience .
The Farmhouse has an excellent brunch. They’ve changed up the menu and today I had the eggs Wilber which is Poached Eggs over Pork Roll on Rye Bread and topped with Hollandaise. It was delicious but I would have liked more Pork Roll. Their Eggs 🥚Benedict is also delicious 😋 my wife had the Scramacopida (not sure of spelling) it’s scrambled eggs with spinach and Feta Cheese.
I can’t finish a Brunch post without mentioning the Bloody Mary made by Travis. It truly is one of the best I’ve ever had.
Dena was our server and as usual she did a great job.
Great meal and experience at the Farm House Saturday night, My date and I split the Cheese & Charcuterie appetizer plate ( good mix of 3 cheeses and 3 meats , toasted bread and fig compote). For Dinner I had the Porterhouse ( good value for a nice size steak , compound butter made it excellent), my partner had the Veal Escalope's ( good tender veal and excellent sauce), we also enjoyed a very nice value priced Napa Meritage ( 2010 Cameron Hughes Meritage) , there was some entertainment this evening ( guitar player/singer in the bar area) , the service was excellent. Great overall fine dining experience in the Philly suburbs for a very reasonable price .
Consistently good. We are never let down by this restaurant starting with the delicious rolls and flavored butter. I had the loaded potato soup that was delicious. My entree was veal escalopes with parmesan mashed and grilled squash. And finishing up with my favorite bananas foster for dessert. We will continue to come back to this restaurant.
I have been to the Farmhouse Restaurant several times and have always had a good experience. The food and the service were very good. They did run out of mussels on Wed. night which was disappointing since we knew that Wed. night was mussels night and that's the reason we went there.
Off the beaten path in Skippack. It's on the Skippack Golf Course. Great outside eating with a view however the inside looked nice as well. Quaint old house with seating scattered in what appears to be the old rooms of the house. The menu is eclectic with various options, and the waitress was very helpful and the kitchen accommodating on food allergies (gluten).
I would recommend for a date or special occasion. Not sure it would be kid friendly, however. We visited on a Saturday night.
This time instead of a full dinner as we would normally do, my wife and I wanted more of a casual bar menu. I had a mushroom Cheese Steak and my wife had the Spicy Chicken sandwich. We both loved our meals.
So if you want a full course meal or a casual meal the Farmhouse has it all.
Very quaint charming atmosphere. Menu had been changed but the website did not reflect this, disappointed that something that appealed to me wasn't;t available, Choices were very good and our meal was very good as well. Quiet night, almost empty. Good service.
Overall a nice trip out for the family. We were seated at table behind a very very loud bar. In hindsight we should have probably asked for another table. Service was great from start to finish. Food was good, but pasta was a little bland and portion was rather small for what you typically get elsewhere with a pasta dish. Everyone else at table seemed pleased with their meals. Musician was very nice, although with bar noise it was tough to hear much of anything till the bar folks exited the building.
One of our very favorite local restaurants. Excellent food and service, friendly, local staff, good live music on Friday nights. Outdoor dining overlooking the golf course, seasonal. Can be slow getting dinners at times, if very busy as the kitchen is quite small (it is a farmhouse), but the patience is worth it. Always meet nice people at the bar, and Stephanie and Travis are terrific bartenders.
Our waitress was pleasant & nice, however she was not versed on the offerings. We were presented with a their menu however per their web site they offer a price fixe menu which we had to request. The lobster bisque was extremely salty, the salmon was beyond overcooked and extremely dry. We specifically asked if the ice cream that was being order had peanut butter, we were told emphatically no. However when it was served it had chocolate bits with peanut butter inside - she was quite surprised. When we told her about the overlooked salmon, she said we should have told her sooner - we would have except she was not around and never came back after we were served our dinners.
I have not been to a restaurant this bad in a long time. Guaranteed will not be back
