I was here for my birthday brunch. Not only was the food delicious, but the atmosphere was so fun and the staff helped to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing and so was the service. Make sure you order the goat cheese fondue, the steak and the catfish sandwich. All delish. Also the ladies in my party loved the goat cheese cheesecake so much that they continue to talk about it for days. A great experience and I look forward to return.

Went in for casual dinner after work ended up arriving shortly before District Trivia which is hosted every Thursday.
Even with the busy crowd the service was awesome! Food was great, had the burger and Pom salad and drinks were spot on.

We had a great experience at Fainting Goat. It was my husband's 40th birthday so I had requested a candle on a small dessert while booking through open table. The staff very discretely asked for my choice of dessert without alerting my husband. They were very attentive through out. The brunch options were good and food was tasty. They brought out the dessert with a candle and gave us the last round of mimosas on the house. All together we had a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend this place to our friends as well as come back again.

I had not been to the Fainting Goat in a while, and it was great to see that the food and service continue to be top notch. We were looking for a great restaurant with reasonable prices for a party of 6 and were seated in downstairs in a quiet area. Service was excellent, food was prepared well and cocktail menu had a variety of good choices.

The food was excellent. Service was great! but.... the “bottomless mimosa” was water and ice. The drinks weren’t strong AT ALL. I switched between mimosa and sangria and both drinks were full of water and sugar and ice. Wouldn’t recommend their bottomless water.

The Fainting Goat
Responded on November 10, 2019

Hello, Thanks for the great feedback! I am so sorry that our mimosas and sangria were not strong enough! Our recipe for our sangria includes quite a bit of vodka and white wine so I will make sure to coach our team on following the recipe moving forward. Likewise, our mimosa recipe is all prosecco with a splash of juice. I will be sure to share this review with our bar team to make sure we are adhering to these recipes. Thanks bringing this to my attention! Best, Patrick

Great location and ambience. The food was ... ok. I had steak frites - menu said it was ribeye, but it really the flavor I expect with ribeye. My wife had the catfish, which she thought was subpar as well. I enjoyed the experience, but not really the food. The fires were AWESOME though!!!!’

Decent little spot but the service was pretty poor. Repeatedly forgot drinks, orders etc.

Appetizers were good but main course was cold and flavorless.

One of those places that can be really good but stop trying to be so hipster and just do a better job.

First time going. Parking is challenging and we live in DC! Next time we will Uber. We had 6:15 reservations and did not have to wait even though the restaurant had a good number of patrons already and both bars were packed. Jasmine was our waitress and she was fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, and spot on with attentiveness! She was personable and took very good care of us. Two of us had the Steak Frites and third person had the Catfish. All entrees were delicious and prepared well. For appetizers we had the fondue which did not disappoint and was the perfect shareable! Margaritas and Martinis were made to perfection and our bottle French Red Shiraz was perfect! Desert was the chocolate option and coffees were the best way to go into what was our first chilly Fall night in DC. Definitely will return and definitely recommend! Bravo and good luck to The Fainting Goat!

The service was wonderful but the food was poor. “Broccoli dip” was broccoli rabe with green hummus and pita bread. The cheese plate was very underwhelming. The steak and frites was very overpriced for the quality. The steak was over cooked and the meat was low quality. Fries were delicious!

Our waitress was terrible. At one point we didn't see her for over half an hour and the restaurant was not that busy. Another waitress filled our drinks twice and found our waitress to let her know we wanted the checks.

As for the food, we enjoyed the goat cheese fondue and Benedicts. The pancakes with apples were bland and dry--really disappointed with those.

Not sure what happened, but the bottomless mimosas took a nosedive. I’ve been bringing friends here forever for brunch. The mimosas used to be bubbly and fresh. The mango/orange/white cranberry actually tasted like real juice, and the champagne was freshly poured. They seemed to have moved to a carafe model, which means that the champagne was often flat. I’m not sure what juice they moved to, but it was tasteless and a bit bitter. The price increased, but the quality decreased. Sad day. The food was still great, and the service was on point.

Hi there, So sorry that we let you down on this past visit. Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. I am so sorry if the prosecco we provided you was not as bubbly as it should have been. You deserve much better. We are still using the same juices as always so I suspect that the flatness of the prosecco is what disappointed your pallet. I will be sure to coach our team on not allowing these to get flat before service. Apologies, Patrick
