Fantastic meal shared with friends. Wanted a special event to say thank you for all you do for us. This was beyond what we were trying to accomplish
Beautiful setting, amazing food and service. Perfect setting for any occasion💕
Always enjoy one of our favorite places to have fine dining. Nice to have no TV’s or hats.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal and great service.
Disappointed with the food - quality is not as I remembered it to be. Still a nice place to visit with great ambiance.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended for special occasions. The grounds are beautiful, and the wine list is incredible. If you stay the night, breakfast is included, which is just as good as dinner - if not better! We will be back!
The chef prepares great tasting cuisine. On the pricey side but excellent tasting and beautifully presented. Service excellent!
Been there many times and it's always been a great meal in an elegant but relaxed setting.
Such a wonderful alternative to noisy, run-of-the mill restaurants. I found the prices to be very comparable to higher-end chain restaurants, so don't be intimidated. The quality was excellent and the service was incomparable to anything in the Lansing area. Their attention to detail is wonderful. The live piano music was excellent.
Service was attentive and prompt. Food was great: Had lobster/scallops and lobster stuffed whitefish. Dessert also excellent. Price reasonable for menu and service. Quiet music in background was a real plus for my husband who resents high volumes that make conversation difficult.
Amazing wine and food! The server was great and fun, I can't wait to go back!
Our 53rd Wedding Anniversary dining experience was everything "we" were looking for.
Three couples thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the 59th anniversary of one of the couples at the English Inn. Lobster and beef entrees were excellent, as was the service and atmosphere, and prices were reasonable.
I like my steaks medium well, not mowing.
The one today was medium, but I didn't send it back.
But I'll be back, no problem.
We went to The English Inn for the he first time tonight for our thirtieth anniversary. The building and grounds were exquisite, and the staff was very friendly. A shout-out to the young lady who kept our drinks refilled and took our photo! Also, they gave us a lithograph of the inn as an anniversary gift...a very nice touch. The food was delicious...especially the creme brûlée!!!!!
The English Inn is our absolutely favorite "go to" restaurant for any special occasion, holiday or just wanting to enjoy an evening of fine dining... anytime!
We enjoy the peaceful serenity that surrounds the venue and learning about the history of the manor. The food is superb and the waiters have been excellent almost every time. We highly recommend the English Inn.
Our annual Father’s Day weekend meal. My 94 year old dad loves The English Inn. And we are always well treated and well fed. Thanks
Well-prepared food in a charming setting. Make sure to stroll through the riverfront garden before or after your meal.
Everything was perfect!!! Atmosphere, food, wine and service...especially enjoyed our server Kevin...he was an absolute delight! Definitely returning soon!
We love dining at the English Inn. The food is always delicious and the service is great. The choices of Michigan beers is great as well.
Great and friendly staff with great service.
Always good food and top service. Even with a big wedding taking place everything was great.
Succeeded expectations. Everything was excellent. Filet Mignon was amazing!
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful . We were seated in the attached room that can be used for private parties. While it affords a beautiful view of the grounds and Grand River, next time we'll request to be in the main dining room which has more ambiance. It is the sitting room of the original house, so it has so much character. We stayed overnight in the cottages on the grounds, but if we lived in the area, we would go just for the restaurant and Dickens English Pub below it.
We have been here many times, sometimes just a last minute choice and it has always been a great evening. Wine list is nice but not overly big.
My sister in law birthday. Very enjoyable evening g
All in all we had a lovely time and the food, service and presentation was excellent. My only problem is that I assumed we would be seated in the main dining room and we were ushered back into the back room which was like a sun room. Next time I will call for reservations and make sure we are seated where we want to be.
We were not offered bread until we asked for it 30 minutes into our experience.,
The porch room is always loud and has no ambience what so ever...we have asked not to be seated in that room because of the noise but that doesn’t happen..
They have a great wine list...that said they serve expensive wine in inappropriate stemware...we were told the last 2 Cabernet glasses just broke earlier in Friday’s dinner service.
Food was good but not hot..our waitress was over extended but very polite.
The manager just doesn’t seem to get it.
just the most wonderful setting for a romantic date or special occasion
Our experience at the English Inn has always been positive. On this last visit our waitress was wonderful. Food came up when expected and everything was very good. Never disappointed.
2 year wedding anniversary
I have been here many times over the years and it always presents a perfect dining experience with excellent food! The surroundings are gorgeous, waitstaff attentive, and every menu choice a delight. Prices are reasonable for a upscale restaurant, as well. I highly recommend the English Inn.
Fabulous, Special, Delicious
We met our Spartan daughters at The English Inn for Easter dinner. What a delight. The English Inn was built in the 20's as a residence for the manager of the Oldsmobile plant. There are several rooms where meals are served, all on linen tablecloths in cozy settings. We enjoyed duckling, tenderloin, and lamb chops. Everyone loved their meal. Service was exceptional and the waiter, Kevin shared some stories about the house that were interesting. There are also cottages and rooms on site. The grounds are well maintained and would be lovely to stroll through on a warmer afternoon. It's a terrific wedding venue too! Worth the drive.
Great ambiance/atmoshpere. Sophisticated but not pretentious. We always get there early so we can enjoy a cocktail in the pub downstairs at least 30 minutes before our dinner reservation upstairs. It's become an Easter tradition and dinner date with special friends. We are hoping to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner there this year. Great food and wine!
We had a wonderful Easter lunch for a group of eight. The atmosphere is incredibly elegant, and pleasantly formal without feeling uncomfortable. Our meals were delicious and the service was cheerful and attentive. Would highly recommend.
Amazing place to eat and stay. Beautiful restaurant excellent food. If you choose to stay overnight the rooms are gorgeous.
