The food was great! We all had a different dish and each one looked fabulous.
Love the view and the building has great character. The food is tasty but could use some cleaning up as far as plating. The hostess/waitress was sweet and nice and prompt with drinks and food but not very helpful in recommendations or descriptions of the food.
Good food, good service, great view. Not very busy on a Thursday night.
It was my mothers 85th birthday. The chef prepared an appetizer gluten-free for us, the waitress was wonderful and made my mom feel really special, and the food was amazing. Thank you Empirium for helping give my mom a very special night out.
We had a nice lunch there with a good view of the river . Our sandwiches were tasty and the restaurant had a nice ambience.
Prices were reasonable as well.
We had wonderful experience, arrived a bit early for dinner but had a couple of drinks & appetizer & relaxed after 6 hour drive, when first choice of wine for dinner was unavailable a couple of well chosen alternatives were offered at a discount, and the food was absolutely fabulous
Everything was awesome, except...when I made the reservation online for seating specifications, I requested cozy and quaint, away from children, they wanted to seat us right in the middle of the main dining area. There were plenty of open seats. Thankfully, I requested a different location, just as I requested. Jenny was an excellent server!
Overall great dining experience. Great menu, great food, great atmosphere, always accommodating !
We hadn't been there for some time, I ordered the filet Oscar and the crab meat on the steak was pitiful, the steak was good quality and the salad was good, the mashed potatoes were horrible, lumpy and cold.
The food, service and ambiance was great. I would recommend it. The waitress was very nice.
Good food. Environment was good. Value is there. Only negative was the homeless man waiting in the lobby asking us for our leftovers. Other than that it was a good night and the food is always excellent.
This was my first time dining here and I was very impressed!
Food: My Salmon dinner was excellent; my wife's and son's Talapia was average; my wife's brother's shrimp dinner was excellent.
Service: (Adam) was very good, very attentative !
Ambiance: Very nice setting. For being busy is was quiet enough to converse without having to yell back and forth. There were no unruly, screaming, crying, whining kids, which was a nice respite from other restaurants we've experienced.
I haven’t eaten here in years. It really needs refurbishing. Bathroom, tables, everything. Food so, so. Service slow. Won’t be back; at least for another 20 years.
Food and service were wonderful! Need I say more?!
Food was great. Staff was courteous and attentive. Great spot.
Went here for 6-month wedding anniversary on Wednesday night. Very quiet and empty which was what we were looking for... very happy polite server. Great old-time cozy wood and iron architecture. View of river lit by lights made great ambient conditions. I am a vegetarian and was pleasantly surprised by mushroom and eggplant ragout; expected red sauce but was great without. Drunken gnocchi was tasty (wife said was overcooked but I thought it was awesome). Never had molten lava chocolate cake before; was exquisitely moist and indulgent on liquid ganache... There was enough for two people. Cocktail drinks were strong, sweet-tasting, and simple (Cranberry Mule) which is what we wanted... Southern Belle was bitter (wife liked it). Recommend definitely for a special occasion!
Food and service was excellent. We had theater tickets and meal and dessert was unhurried at about 90 minutes so timing was excellent.
We went for dinner with 3 other couples for new years eve. The service was very friendly, but very slow! needed more wait staff. Food was descent. I have had better food there before.
My husband and I went for our Anniversary. I ordered the Oscar Tilapia and a glass of Rosa Stella Moscsoto which both were excellent! My husband ordered fish and chips. He said the fish was very good but the fries were cold and burnt and he got a lot of tiny crunchy pieces. We tried to get the attention of our server so he could order the garlic mashed potatoes but by the time she came by again he was already done with his fish. That is why I gave a 4 star.
Our waitress, though I cannot recall her name, was absolutely delightful. We had reservations for 5:30 on a Saturday, and they weren't too terribly busy or crowded. The food was absolutely amazing and the selection was great for those with a picky appetite. If you're looking for a great place to go on a date night, or just take a casual lunch or dinner with some friends, this is the place to go.
I love The Emporium. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. There is always a table. The view is spectacular and, when it's warm, sitting outside on river is a huge bonus. The food is good. I sometimes wish there were more vegetarian options but I enjoy what I can get there. The quiche at lunch is outstanding.
We had an online reservation and were seated promptly at one of the best tables when we arrived. Howeved our meal turned for the worst when we weren't waited on for nearly 20 minutes. Waitresses came by many tables to attend on the other tables directly next to us but skipped us every time. After waiting I finally got up and approached a waitress and explained to her the situation. They apologized and said they didnt know we had been seated, so they offered a free round of drinks and apperizers on tge house for their mistake. We still waited nearly 10 minutes on a waitress to come by to get our food order After the initial confrontation. The food was good and the service was decent after this but overall we were not impressed, especially with have read such high reviews.
On the positive side, free parking was nice and the food tasted good. The ambience inside made the date more romantic. Prices were good as well for the quality and portion of food received. Although the mistake was made, it was handled very professionally.
Our Server Adam was an absolute joy! He was prompt, kind & very funny. Very engaging! Actually all the people we came in contact were just wonderful. The food was outstanding! Compliments to the Chef! Also we weren't rushed out., which we appreciated. It was our yearly girls get together & it was wonderful to spend several hours just catching up., which we can only do once a year! Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
Nice waiter—very busy—good food—lots of patrons
The food was okay. I wouldn't say exceptional. We ordered a shareable of garlic mashed potatoes and they definitely lacked seasoning. We were there around 5:30 and there were very few people.
We were seated by the window and there was a constant cold draft. We waited for about 10 minutes before another server brought us waters and another 5 minutes for our server. We ordered immediately. We were promised bread that never arrived. We had the Pumpkin Soup and Emporium salad... both were good. We both ordered meatloaf and it was satisfactory.
In summary I hope we did not catch them at their best.
When we arrived the table was wet [had not been cleaned or dried off] and unstable. Needed to have something put under the leg to stabilize. Food was only fair. Salmon was overcooked and the steak that one of us had was over seasoned. Frankly kind of disappointed. Have had good experiences before but certainly not this time. Probably will not go back. To many other nice places to eat.
Great outdoor dining experience, great food and price value.
Don't know how it had the rating it had. The food was just okay not what I was hoping for. Place was dead and service was still slow. Would not go back.
Nice menu. Good specials. Great service. Right on the water.
The service was terrific and the food was delicious!!!
The East Bank Emporium's glory days are long gone. The place looks tired and sad and much in need of an update. It appeared that the seats had new cushions but the chairs and tables both need refinishing. The server was nice but it was apparent that she had not been trained on the menu as she was unable to answer the questions we asked. The food was slightly above mediocre. My steak was overdone and one of my forks was dirty. My husband's fish had batter that was too thick making it crunchy on the outside and mushy on the inside and his fries had no seasoning. The iced tea had a "muddy" appearance indicating it was not fresh. It was depressing to be there as I remember how nice it used to be back when I was in college. My family will not return to this restaurant.
Love the the service and my waiter.. Me and my boyfriend can't wait to come back
Great food, would go again, very clean. Waitress staff was amazing
Highly disappointed with the food. Tasteless and overpriced, we will not be back.
My rib eye came with chimichuri sauce. It was only purée of parsley with no taste. The bearnaise sauce I asked for (and paid extra for) tasted like it came out of a can.
We eat there at least once a year for our office birthday celebration. We have been doing this for years. At least 3 members of our group always order the chicken salad pita. It is the reason we keep coming back. However, this year, one member of our group sent back her pita as inedible. She said it was mushy and tasted like paste. The other 3 group members who ordered the pita stated that it was also unusually mushy. The server removed the returned pita from our bill and offered to replace it with something else, but our member did not want anything else. We will be back, but were very disappointed in the meal.
Mediocre service, terrible food. Sent back twice and received the third time looking like someone had already partially eaten. Will NEVER return!
Been awhile since we've been there. Salads no longer included. Changed salad dressings and the croutons that were fabulous our waiter was great. Food was ok but not for the prince compared to other restaurants
