Great atmosphere, well decorated, with a nice view of the lake. The service was excellent and the meals were good. I was disappointed in the meat and cheese appetizer as it was a little pricey for what you received. Overall a good experience and we will be back.
friendly staff, good food, pretty view of the park
Great meal as usual and was able to hear Boyz to Men in Cascades Park Amphitheater.
Everytime I go to Tally, I come to the Edison. The food is great and consistent. We also had outstanding, attentive service on this last visit. The buffalo chicken dip is outstanding. I’ll be back again soon.
This was our first time in the upper room before a concert. The tables were okay, not as nice as the ones downstairs, but would be great for an event. The staff was great! Food was fantastic as usual. Best part was we had a fantastic server. She was awesome!
Our waitress took a very long time to serve us, she disappeared several times, she was forgetful with things, and we waited 45 minutes to get our food. Overall, the service was not up to par. However, she was relatively nice when she was present.
The food was absolutely amazing! The ambiance was nice as well, very chill vibe.
Arancini was amazing. The rest of the food was fantastic as well. My only suggestion would be for them to offer a few gluten-friendly suggestions for desserts.
For the past 4 years, the Edison has been a favorite when visiting Tallahassee. It is always a treat to visit my kids at FSU and treat them (and their friends) to dinner. On Tuesday, my husband and I took my daughter, her brother, her roommate and her boyfriend to celebrate her birthday. When I made reservations online only the late 8:30 time was available so I settled for that thinking it would be fine. At 7:00 or so, we received a call that the kitchen would be closing at 8:45 so we would need to hurry. We asked if we could come in early, they said fine. The restaurant was so empty, I don't know how reservations would not have been available earlier as that was what I preferred. We arrived a little past 8:00 with presents, and 3 balloons. Nothing embarrassingly big but obviously noticeable. We were not greeted for 5 minutes after our arrival. Our server, Matt, was nice but not a very good server, so suggestions of drinks, apps or entrees. 4 of us are legal drinking age but no mention of fancy cocktails, recommended wine, etc. Food portions seemed smaller than our previous 8-10 visits. We were basically brisked out---shades were closed and lights turned up right at 9:00. The worst was the smell of bleach and cleaning while we were still eating. And absolutely no one even mentioned a birthday with a well wish or dessert suggestion. We clearly over paid for a less than average experience.
Winos watch the wine prices! First thing I look at is Open Table when out of town then the restaurants wine list. This place has a wonderful wine list on open table with very fair prices but when arrived the restaurant the prices were double if not triple the price of the menu online.
Our server got us the manager and she gave us the Open table price online for the wine. Service was very good and food was very good. If they don’t lower the wine prices I won’t be back. Wine is part of my dinner and won’t pay crazy prices for it.
The wine prices on Open Table are the prices the restaurant should be charging btw. My opinion!
They say us in the basement when I had reservations made weeks ago.
Lovely evening with my family celebrating a birthday. Server was excellent and very attentive to our needs. All the entrees were delicious. Cant wait to enjoy another visit to the Edison.
Very nice ambiance. The greeters were very welcoming. The bartender was fast and efficient. Our waitress was very sweet, helpful and attentive. The food was also good. The setting is beautiful. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Terribly inadequate parking. Arrived at 6pm on a Sunday nite for a 6:15 reservation. No parking in the lots.
I finally parked illegally on the curbside and was inside by 6:20. Seated upstairs in a huge room with wood floors, movable tables & chairs and no ambiance. Nothing special about the food. Won’t be going back.
The food was warm, not hot. Floor was wet daughter slipped on the floor. No acknowledgement of the birthday celebration. Open tables but sat another group staring at us.
The only thing I would say that was bad was I asked for a medium well stake and they gave me medium rare.. Overall the food was good..
The food was delicious. The menu had quite a variety and the prices were really good.
Never received our Caesar salads, only refill on water once, was placed on the bottom floor felt like a basement.
Love it!!! Can’t wait to go back!!
The atmosphere, service and especially the FOOD was all top notch! Everything we ordered was fresh, hot and delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced across dishes and you can really tell that the chefs take pride in their culinary creations!
When we are arrived at our reserved time we were seated promptly. Unfortunately we waited for 20 min for service . We had to go to the front desk and ask for someone to visit our table . The server we had was very friendly and gave good recommendations. I ordered the blackened grouper it was under cooked and pink. Our steak which was ordered rare came back medium and the pasta ordered came with not enough sauce. The ambiance is rather nice and hoping it was just a fluke .
Beautiful setting! Excellent dinner! Great for a date night.
We loved the atmosphere and the staff was wonderful. They accommodated a time change and the number of people in our party very nicely. Will definitely go back next time we are in town.
Always great there!
Great time for my wife’s birthday and the pork chop is amazing!
Excellent! I will be back. Great service, by I think it was Brandon? Wine Down Wednesday was a good deal and the red blend was fabulous.
Great, unique food options and excellent value. The happy hour pricing is friendly to the wallet with wide ranging liquid options. Informed and upbeat staff. One of my favorite places to eat when visiting Tally. This spot has it together
We have eaten here numerous times in the past. Tonight food was lack luster and tasted not fresh. We won’t be back for a while.
Hard for me to say that I wouldn't recommend this restaurant since it is such a beautiful building and location. The service was very good, no complaints there but the food was really just average. Certainly not worth the price point. May be a nice place for drinks on the patio but I can't recommend for dinner.
The ambience is very good! The noise level was a little high, but that’s to be expected in this type of building! Our only complaint was the length of time it took to get our orders.
Excellent restaurant with lots of great menu choices and an awesome bar!
The AC was a bit high and we were a little cold
Great selection of food and drinks. Quick, friendly service. Worth it!
It is a lovely location. The bar service was not good -- the old fashioned was served without a garnish and the other drink order was completely wrong. Most of our food was pretty good, although we waited for about 5 minutes for plates for the arancini, which was lukewarm by the time we got them. It was also served without a serving spoon, so we each had to stick our forks in the dish. My Caesar salad was all outside dark leaves and had nothing to recommend it. Everyone else enjoyed their main courses, however (salmon, short ribs, steak). Dessert (chocolate cake) was amazing. It was loud, but not overwhelming.
ONLY HOSTESSES FRIENDLY
RESERVATION AND waited forever.
The view is so lovely on a nice day, just really makes you enjoy Tallahassee and the lovely park. I wish this place was not so hit and miss. Recently I had a reservation for 6 for a birthday celebration only to arrive and discover they were closed and had not updated the Open Table data. Most recently ordered a bottle of white wine for brunch and was brought a different bottle for a significant upcharge and it was warm ( white wine) and the server stated they had not "had time" to chill any wines ( for a holiday weekend ). He broke the cork and seemed unfamiliar with even how to open wine. It was warm and not drinkable. The "medium rare steak and poached eggs" arrived well done leathery and hard-boiled eggs. Sent back. not edible. Overall a serious of disappointments. I would say , if you go, go with 0 expectations and just enjoy the park. Do not go for the food or service. The manager came to our table at the very end ( too late) and took off my bad food but the wine should have never been sent out by the bartender such as it was ( for $75). Never see the same manager or server twice here.
No parking available when we arrived and the noise level was excessive inside. But everything else was great.. Food, service, ambiance were very good
Server was kinda slow.
We had to wait a fair amount of time before our waiter showed up. Thought the portions were small particularly the shrimp and grits.... needed more shrimp. No complimentary bread.. $4 dollars for sourdough .......food was good just thought the value wasn’t there. Great atmosphere though...
