The experience was good. Was recommended by a friend. Glad we went there!
We came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. It was a Friday night and the other local restaurants were totally booked up, except this one. We ate outside, which was nice, and the food was ok-I thought that it was a bit over-priced, however. We are not tourists and live locally-there are other restaurants with comparable food at a lower price point.
I had the veggie sandwich on ciabatta; it was excellent. My husband had the smoked tuna melt; it didn’t taste smoked and had very little tuna or cheese. For the price, definitely wasn’t worth it.
We sit outside and loved the bay view! Service was excellent!
GREAT PLACE VERY GOOD AND FAST SERVICE, WILL BE BACK
Celebrated my birthday here. Had a nice quiet table by ourselves overlooking the water.
Disappointed that the hostess did not know how to check in a guest that made a reservation using Open Table (she even said as much). As a result, they didn't see the request for a view with the water (fortunately, they were not too busy and could accommodate our in-person request). Nor did they acknowledge that it was my birthday as I wrote on the reservation. Also received an email from Open Table indicating that I "missed" my reservation which I had to clear up.
Service was okay (little slow and I had to flag down another employee for a seasoning item) but the food was excellent. Excellent view of the water and we got to see a nice sunset.
Took my Mom for Easter Brunch and wow! They accommodated us earlier than our reservation and seated immediately! Gracious waiter Zeus took care of us and we were seated inside with the best view! The Chef made my Mom The Best Eggs Benedict and the eggs were perfect! Great service and experience, and great first time booking with Open Table too!
The food was COLD. Not lukewarm, but COLD. Also, tasteless. Waste of money. Have been here in the past, but this was the worse. Will not be back.
Our family of four came for lunch. While the restaurant itself was not busy, it took a while for our waitress to appear. She apologized and explained they were short staffed. We completely understood as it was prime lunch hour on Thursday of Easter weekend. Or waitress continued to provide excellent service despite working numerous tables. The food was delicious. The view was beautiful.
We were in San Diego for only one evening. We were getting together with some dear old friends and picked the Edgewater strictly based on location. We wanted something on the water and either in or near Seaport Village. It turned out to be a perfect choice. The location was as expected - perfect. We sat outside on their patio and the view and ambiance were lovely. The food, while not overwhelming, was good and satisfying. All four of us enjoyed what was ordered, and there was not a single complaint. Everything was quite good. Last but not least, our waitress was totally delightful, and delivered nicely paced and very friendly service. Thanks for a really nice experience, Edgewater!
We were celebrating and this restaurant seemed very 'forgotten'? This was our second visit to this restaurant and last time was much better. I know it's March and dining down by the water is not as popular, but we were inside. Prices were a little high and they were out of some key items.
Good views and decent food
Went here with our grandchildren and they were very accommodating and patient. The food was good and the service was great. Excellent view of the bay.
Our brunch was delicious, and we had a beautiful view from the patio. We loved that we could bring our puppy with us, and they even brought him a dog bowl of water.
The restaurant was almost empty on a Wednesday night. That should have been a tip off. We were seated at a table for two by a window and there was no one else except for another couple on the far side of the restaurant. Then a loud party of 10 was seated right behind us. The waitress served all of us and was pleasant & efficient. We had clam chowder and split coconut shrimp & crab cakes. Over night we both experienced bad indigestion and stomach cramps. We have never had problems with this kind of food before. We have passed by the restaurant a number of times since and it always looks close to empty. Definitely not recommended.
The wi if didn’t work - and the avocado toast needed to be slices of avocado - and the crab cakes needed just pieces of Crab - soo much sauce diluting the flavor of crab
Service was good, view was great. Food was average at best. Don’t plan on going back.
Sunday brunch by the water. Very enjoyable.
I've eaten dinner here once a year in the last 10 years, always during a business trip into San Diego. I was surprised to find they serve breakfast. The breakfast selection was very good!
Service was excellent. Food was good! Atmosphere could use some updating but great views!
Service was rather slow, but that was the only complaint! The food was delicious and the ambiance was just lovely!! I can’t wait to go back! ...wish we lived closer.
There were 5 in our party. We tried this restaurant on a Monday evening and found a very quiet ambiance, attentive service and very good food. A great place to take guests visiting San Diego.
Came here to have dinner with an old friend and family based on my friend's suggestion. We were looking for seafood, and this restaurant certainly has a decent seafood menu. The cocktails were very good and the seafood we got was also good. A little pricey for our liking, but overall a good experience.
Great view from the outdoor patio and very friendly service but the quality of the food is not worth the $; you're definitely paying for the location.
Beer was cold but unfortunately so were the fries. Wife didnt like the Fish tacos. Was messy on the plate. Hamburger just so so. Overall wasnt impressed.
Christmas dinner with group of 10. Location was nice and service was good. Unfortunately the food was horrendous. Other than a few appetizers that were just OK every other plate was awful. My Ahi Tuna special was not only flavorless but the presentation was sophomoric. Even my teenagers, that will eat anything and usually like it, we’re lamenting that we didn’t go have pizza instead. After $600 bill, I wish we would have as well.
We booked this restaurant for Christmas dinner. Should have realised how bad it was when we arrived because it was nearly empty.Thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt. Wish we had gone somewhere else. We had no bread, asked server several times but none arrived. My food was cold and tasteless. My kids had mac & cheese, they said it tasted like it had been made with half and half ( way to creamy), they had stomach ache afterwards. Way over priced. Server took ages bringing anything and looked like she didn't want to be there. Very disappointed.
We went for our Christmas lunch (7 of us). The waiter started out slow but the food was excellent and the view was gorgeous.
Beautiful view of San Diego Bay. Inside was beautifully decorated with paintings of local activities. Good place to take out-of-town guests. Good variety menu.
Excellent start to the evening. We had outdoor seating with an excellent view. The only fault was that service diminished as the crowd grew larger.
Good food,Great service.! Very nice view
I will definitely come back!
Nice place, good food, expensive, very good service.
We had a family in from LA. We were out for breakfast and seaport village shopping. Was the perfect spot for view and yummy food. Waiter was helpful and asked us how many checks we wanted. We had 5 separate checks and he was fine with that. Thanks for the awesome care. We will definitely be back!!
I took my cousin there for a nice evening. She was in town for a conference. We watched the sun set and the sky change colors against Coronado as a background. She was impressed with the spectacular show and we had a wonderful time.
Absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and artfully presented! Way more than we could eat, reasonably priced for the culinary value.
Attentive and courteous wait staff. Well maintained facility, pretty ambiance.
Nothing but good things to say! Look forward to going again!!
(We went at 10:30am for brunch. The omelets were perfect!)
Great place to have brunch and have a wonderful view of the waterfront. Breakfast was a very hearty breakfast, but also how did selection of yogurt and fruit and fresh granola. Mimosas were very good, coffee bar could use a little improvement, Probably best to stick to plain coffee rather than a coffee type drink.
Corey our server, was great! We had a beautiful day at Edgewater with our family for my sons 27th birthday! We will definitely be going back:)
Lost computers and took over an hour from order to food served when there was only a small number of people in the restaurant.
We were very pleased with our whole dining experience. We had a knowledgeable wait person who was also very friendly. The food was excellent and we didn't feel rushed.
Great food, good service!
The Edgewater Grill was a nice option as we decided to get dinner and the outside sitting was perfect for a date and the service was amazing I would definitely come back here
