The Edgewater Grill Ratings and Reviews
We had a family in from LA. We were out for breakfast and seaport village shopping. Was the perfect spot for view and yummy food. Waiter was helpful and asked us how many checks we wanted. We had 5 separate checks and he was fine with that. Thanks for the awesome care. We will definitely be back!!
Absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and artfully presented! Way more than we could eat, reasonably priced for the culinary value.
Attentive and courteous wait staff. Well maintained facility, pretty ambiance.
Nothing but good things to say! Look forward to going again!!
(We went at 10:30am for brunch. The omelets were perfect!)
Great place to have brunch and have a wonderful view of the waterfront. Breakfast was a very hearty breakfast, but also how did selection of yogurt and fruit and fresh granola. Mimosas were very good, coffee bar could use a little improvement, Probably best to stick to plain coffee rather than a coffee type drink.
We had an outside table by the harbor walkway -- great for people watching! Good beer me; wine over-priced. Bruschetta appetizer was bland. Cippono and Bronzino entrees were delicious! A bit pricey. Nice server but very slow on drinks and check-back. A pretty good tourist experience.
I have dined at the Edgewater Grill many times and always enjoy the food and cocktails. However, this last visit the service was less than stellar. We were seated in a back corner and forgotten about. It took over 30 to get a server back after placing cocktail orders and another half hour to get to place our dinner orders.
Food was average at best, not terrible but not impressive. It would have been an OK experience except for the absence most of the time of our server. We couldn't even get our bill in a timely manner. Infrequent refills on drinks and very inattentive overall. A disappointing eating experience
A group of us went down to San Diego for a getaway, first time here, and we tried this restaurant twice while we were there, the second time to see if the first one was a bad night, sadly it wasn't. We wanted to like the food because the view is just beautiful from this restaurant, but sadly the food here is lacking, we had several dishes and tried a little bit of everything, but it just lacked in flavor, and taste. Server on first visit was wonderful, she really tried to make the experience good, but the server on the second visit disappeared so many times that we had to have him tracked down several times for items through out the meal. Also, on the first night the credit card machine went down so they had a back up of checks waiting to be paid, so we waited, and waited until finally we could pay our bill and leave.
The views is very nice, Damien who was our server was very friendly!!! It was not overcrowded when we ate (about 7:00pm). Menu had a decent selection to choose from, I had the rib eye steak, my daughter had the filet mignon, my wife had the fish and chips and my son had a kids pizza. All the meals came out cooked as expected and tasted great. You may think it's a little pricey but being from the East Coast its no different.
Beautiful location and good staff, drinks are good but the food was very disappointing. The Corned beef hash was nothing more than slices of corned beef on top of house potatoes with some green pepper and onion. - what a waste " they need to be more descriptive regarding the menu items, omelette was okay, my sons steak sandwich was totally bust - chunks of beef on a torta roll. If I ever visit again it will be beverages only.
We had a reservation and table wasn't available when we arrived. We had to wait 30 minutes. Food was way over priced for the quality and took over a hour and a half to get it to the table. Ordered a medium steak and it was extremely rare. Waitress made no effort to fix it and kept blaming the kitchen for the delay and never apologized to us for the wait or food that was clearly not cooked the way it was ordered. Would not return or recommend based food or customer service. Just visit Seaport Village and eat somewhere else!
