The Edgewater Grill Ratings and Reviews
My overall experience here was pretty good one thing I didn't like too much was how our waitress first brought us iced tea but it was very weak and light in color. she knew that so she said she'd come back after she brewed a new batch. When the new batch was ready she didn't even bother to bring new glasses she just asked us to take a big drink out of our old glasses with the weak tea and then she filled the rest up with the new tea. she wasn't very professional but I would return because the food was good and our view was nice I just hope we have a more professional waitress next time.
Was looking for a place for quiet dinner after visiting the crazy busy Liberty Public Market. Only about 20% occupied when we got there on a Sunday evening. Got a nice table by the window looking out into the bay.
Started with the clam chowder which was good. I had the stuffed scallops with couscous which was tasty. The scallops were kind of small and you get only three of them but, they were good. The puffy couscous was a treat. My wife got the branzino which was tender and moist but, disappointed that the skin wasn't crispy like the other times we have ordered branzino in the past.
The service was good and prompt. It is pricey, about $90 for two entrees, one small dinner salad and an ice tea, no dessert. But, that is expected for a place in Sea Port Village. At least it was a more relaxing dinner than the last one we had at the always busy Fish Market nearby.
The View was incredible. Very nice sunset spot.
Service was ok
Food was not good at all
Food was very expensive
They where trying a pay at the table system ( hand held credit card machine) that made tipping in front of your server very awkward.
Overall I would give it a 2 out of 10
Waitress had excellent service her name was Jennifer. All though when being met by the front desk one of the 3 girls was not happy with her job and seemed tired and with drawn (basically you had to pull info from her). Thanks to Jennifer changing my opinion
We came New Year's Eve after finding that most places in the area were doing set menus ($$$). It was our first time here, food was excellent! Service was meh. Our waitress seemed annoyed she was working and did not check in on us after our initial order. We ended up ordering more drinks from the busser. I know it's now fun to work on a holiday, but perhaps the staff could have faked it a little bit better. We did really like our selections and the steak I ordered was cooked and seasoned perfectly. So to sum up 5 stars for food, 3 for service.
Jolanta was our waitress & she was wonderful. The food was excellent. My husband had the cheese pizza with mushrooms & onions, Mom had the fish n' chips & I had the crab cake sandwich with kale slaw. I had a taste of everyone's & all were great & flavorful. We ate inside & right by the window & had a beautiful view of Coronado Island. Lovely Christmas dinner & would definitely eat here again.
The atmosphere was bland. Aside from it being almost empty, the tile floor and the canned background music was not aesthetically pleasing. Food was good, service was good and the price was reasonable. We picked it for its waterfront location, but since it was cool we sat inside by a window. The view wasn't that good.
The food was great, fresh seafood. Service was excellent, our server was attentive. The location is the best, view of bay and Coronado island from our table. The restaraunt has excellent architecture. I also liked that the Sea village walk path was right behind our hotel so it is really convenient from Hyatt or Marriot. They have great draft beer choices and a cool bar area. I took two small children with me so it is very child friendly.
Great lunch with friends! I keep returning to Edgewater Grill for the good food, good value, and fantastic view. We sat on the patio and it was glorious. Jennifer, our favorite waitress, made us feel right at home. Highly recommend, especially if you have out of town guests.
I made reservations for 7. It smells bad when you walk in but I tried to dismiss it. We were seated at 7:40. No greeting or water for 10-15 mins. We ordered food and by 8:40 it arrived.
All of the 6 meals we ordered were gross. Salad was wilted and several pieces were slimy. The bar drinks were terribly weak and overpriced.
Ordered Brussel sprouts and there was like 3 sprouts. Filled with spinach and chopped up Brussels and bacon bits. Barely could be called a Brussel sprout dish.
The avocado shrimp salad was horrible and the roasted chicken was tasteless. The sea bass was tough and tasteless and $36 bucks. TERRIBLE!
The waitress was sort of funny. She offered free dessert but know what? We don't even want it. Just want to leave! Asked for the check and it is taking about 15 minutes. She took off the Brussel spouts. I would never recommend this place.
Hostesses were very rude and unprofessional. I had to follow up on my reservation twice and was told that they stopped putting food out and would not be able to be seated until 30 minutes after my reservation time (for 6 people). The message was only shared because I followed up at the hostess stand as to when we could sit down, no apology was given.
The restaurant was nice but the service was very slow. We were complimented with anything to make up for waiting for our diner for 45 minutes. Te server was nice but didn't go out of her way to make up for waiting so long. Food was okay but the view is what saves this restaurant. Thank you!
We've had dinner at the Edgewater Grill annually for the past 3-4 years & haven't been disappointed once. Their service has been consistently outstanding each time for our usual party of 5. Entrees such as their Seafood Pappardelle & Sea Bass are flavorful & well-prepared. The view right on the water is, of course, wonderful & dining has always been a pleasure here. We'll be back next year!
