The Edgewater Grill Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere was beautiful. However, the service was extremely slow. Our waitress apologized several times stating that she was new, she had too many tables, and it was too crowded. I felt bad for her, but the poor service really put a damper on our Mother's Day brunch. The food was average and definitely overpriced. You pay for the nice view. I would not recommend going here on the weekends as it was simply too crowded. Since they added in more restaurants at Seaport Village, they haven't seemed to add any additional parking.
We booked a large party here (20+ people, ages 1 - 70) and the staff were very accommodating. The food was good, but most impressively they were able to seat us all along a window with relative privacy so the kiddos could play and adults could mingle. Overall one of the best large party experiences I've had.
Pretty disappointed with the place. View was good but sun was extremely bright reflecting in our eyes and were told to wait 30 mins for it t go down. Waiter was very impatient with us. If we asked a question about the menu he acted put out and said if we weren't ready he would come back later , then disappear for 20 more mins. Food was mediocre and cost too much.
It's hard to complain when you are sitting on the waterfront patio but the service was really bad. Not rude but inexperienced, unprofessional, unprepared and horribly slow. Twice we had to get up and ask for basic setup items that were not provided. The soup was served with no soup spoon, no condiments, food extremely late then given to the wrong person. Had to ask several times to get the heater put on, even though it was 50° on the patio, probably something they could have had done before we got there?
The 20-year-old they sent out to change the propane tank was clearly aggravated at the request. It was just a host of annoyances you deal with when restaurants do not train their staff. For the same price I would recommend going to a restaurant that puts more energy into their service.
The chicken tortilla soup was really good, my side of avocado went to someone else who ate it on their burger. I did not want to wait the additional 30 minutes for more avocado but that would've been delicious with the soup!
The restaurant location is great and the service is very good however I do believe in a good meal not just because it's next to the water I'll let it slide the breakfast menu has a wide selection however the quality isn't really there could use a slight upgrade in food and I also wouldn't mind paying more to see that happen
I used Open Table to secure a reservation here for a group of 10 on short notice and the staff had everything ready when our group arrived. Friendly waitstaff offered great reviews of the wines and food to help us make our selections. The food was great and delivered timely. Since we arrived later in the evening our group was likely going to push them very close to their regular closing time and yet there was absolutely no rush to push us out. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the meal at a waterfront location during a busy convention. Since I arranged for taking the group it was nice to have all of our group very satisfied.
My overall experience here was pretty good one thing I didn't like too much was how our waitress first brought us iced tea but it was very weak and light in color. she knew that so she said she'd come back after she brewed a new batch. When the new batch was ready she didn't even bother to bring new glasses she just asked us to take a big drink out of our old glasses with the weak tea and then she filled the rest up with the new tea. she wasn't very professional but I would return because the food was good and our view was nice I just hope we have a more professional waitress next time.
Was looking for a place for quiet dinner after visiting the crazy busy Liberty Public Market. Only about 20% occupied when we got there on a Sunday evening. Got a nice table by the window looking out into the bay.
Started with the clam chowder which was good. I had the stuffed scallops with couscous which was tasty. The scallops were kind of small and you get only three of them but, they were good. The puffy couscous was a treat. My wife got the branzino which was tender and moist but, disappointed that the skin wasn't crispy like the other times we have ordered branzino in the past.
The service was good and prompt. It is pricey, about $90 for two entrees, one small dinner salad and an ice tea, no dessert. But, that is expected for a place in Sea Port Village. At least it was a more relaxing dinner than the last one we had at the always busy Fish Market nearby.
The View was incredible. Very nice sunset spot.
Service was ok
Food was not good at all
Food was very expensive
They where trying a pay at the table system ( hand held credit card machine) that made tipping in front of your server very awkward.
Overall I would give it a 2 out of 10
Waitress had excellent service her name was Jennifer. All though when being met by the front desk one of the 3 girls was not happy with her job and seemed tired and with drawn (basically you had to pull info from her). Thanks to Jennifer changing my opinion
