The Edge Social Grille & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We 4 ladies were going to a play at the Vogue and decided on the Edge for dinner since it was close by and had good reviews. We were there early and it was nice and quiet! Our server was great. Very attentive and got everything right! The food was delicious all around. We shared a couple of appies, the calamari and poutine were both yummy! The Margherita flatbread was amazing and fed two of us . The other girls had a French Dip and Salmon Burger. Everyone was happy with their meals. We got there before 6 and got the great happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers which made it even better. All in all a very enjoyable dinner. The atmosphere is lovely as well. We will return!
Such a pleasant surprise! We only went here as the last place with seating for us before the show. Service was spectacular, the table near the window was lovely, and the place felt relaxed but upbeat, cozy but airy (I loved the comfort of the dining chairs). We ordered all different meals but all were really terrific and great value for the money. We just made happy hour and good selection of drinks for $5. We will definitely be back.
This is the place for a casual drink before dinner. Lots of options for food so The Edge fits perfect when you are not sure what you want to eat. I was concerned when it took awhile for our drinks to arrive but the food was served in a timely manner and was hot. All 12 of our party were satisfied with the meal. The menu and quality were perfect if you are staying at the hotel and looking for a convenient spot to eat.
This is the best Dine-Out experience in Vancouver bar none (at any price, and at any venue, including the 5 star restaurants, which just create bare-bone menus for Dine-Out). The food at The Edge was nothing short of superlative, a real gastronomic treat. The wine pairing suggestions were also spot on, including the introduction to a late harvest Merlot. It was truly a culinary delight - a perfect evening, topped off with wonderful service that appeared effortless (thank you).
My husband and I go to "The Edge" about 2 to 3 times a week. We were lucky enough to find it as it is a very convenient location for us to meet at lunch and dinner time. The staff is stellar, the food is fantastic and there is lot of variety.... try it out... and the management staff is very accommodating too...
We were at The Edge for New Years Eve. The Food was amazing. fresh, exquisite and delicious
But the Service was really poor;
Missing knowledge about how to serve a Guest in a good restaurant (Her skills are enough for a Pub, but not for an exquisite Restaurant)
The Sangria and Mojito was awful - It was water with Ice and maybe a little bit of taste
All in all better choose an other Restaurant, there are many better Restaurants in Vancouver
I celebrated my birthday there. In the very beginning I thought its too quite (they played some classic music) and was a little bit upset that management could not change the music. But later on, I realized it was a good opportunity for us to talk and hear each other. I liked it. All of us loved sangria. We ordered appies, they were great as well. The atmosphere was lovely and cozy. The management was friendly and professional! Thanks a lot!
Whilst looking for a last minute reservation for 7, I found the Edge Social Lounge on Open Table. They were super accommodating to our group, friendly and had pretty good service. The food was good for everyone and there was even Gluten Free options on the menu. Apparently the pizza was to die for and the rest of the party enjoyed the wings, nachos, and fish and chips. Everyone loved their meals and I was satisfied with the gluten free burger although for some reason they don't have normal mustard for a burger and the gluten free bun fell apart in no time. Either they need new Gluten Free buns (I'd suggest sourcing locally at Cloud9 or Penne Rizo so that they hold up better - also they need to toast them first. Other than that, delicious and a great hidden gem. Would never have expected a great place to eat hidden in a hotel!
I found that the staff openly complained about their management, the music was too loud for a mothers day brunch, when asked if it could be turned down I was given a bunch of excuses including that the manager will just turn it up again. when ordering off the mothers day brunch menu, the item was listed to come with fruit compote and instead showed up at the table with bacon shavings. this was for a childs brunch. When asked about the compote, was given a bowl of strawberries. this doen not make up for the kitchen sending out the wrong order.
A small glass of apple juice was 4.50 and not refillable. this was approx.$0.40 wpth of juice.
I will not recommend for mothers day.
Staff and food are fantastic here. I have dined here a few years ago and found the same thing. The staff are personable and really really paid attention to our table, never had to wait to catch someones attention if we needed anything. Restaurant manager was genuinely friendly and it really reflected on his staff. I have told all my friends about the Edge and plan to come again in the near future. Thank you for a great night out!
The Edge was a very nice restaurant for my wife and I. The food was very tasty, the fries were well cooked and the burgers were delicious. The drinks were very nice too. The service was very good with our waitress having very good time management between asking us what we would like, and then seeing how our meals were. Service with a smile and friendliness. There was a bit of noise, but that was not the fault of the restaurant as there was a group dinner in the big room not too far from where my wife and I were sitting. There were a lot of flat screen televisions with both hockey and football on, so good entertainment while eating. Very good ambience as a whole too. The only slight downside is that it is not in the safest part of Vancouver, with not much lighting and there was an uneasy feeling of the surrounding area for my beloved and myself. Overall though, a very nice meal, very good service, and a very pleasant experience.
My husband's parents live in Vancouver, but we live in Seattle. I used Open Table to look for MD Brunch locations, and found this spot at a very short notice. My father-in-law wasn't having any luck with reasonably priced Mother's Day brunches before 3pm. The Social Grille allowed for an 11:30 am reservation AND fed my mother-in-law for FREE! The menu was special for the day, and my father-in-law had the stuffed French toast, which he couldn't finish (but came very close)! My mother-in-law had the Belgian waffles. Dave and I had Eggs Benedict ... I, the classic version, he, the vegetarian version, which used Feta. I was unable to finish mine, but Dave finished his AND my other half!
The location lends to it being a quite place to enjoy a Sunday brunch, not busy at all. The staff were very attentive, again that could be attributed to the place not being busy. The food was good, nothing exceptional, I have no complaints. If you are in a last-minute pinch to find a Sunday brunch place this would do just fine.
Being our first time to Vancouver, we did know what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised about the service and taste of the food. We had breakfast and I will always have Eggs Benedict whenever possible and I was not disappointed as it was loaded with hollandaise sauce and the egg was cooked the way I like it. My wife ordered the waffle with fruit and she enjoyed every bit of it especially with the cinnamon added. Just a little pricey for me but, it was delicious.
For a place in the Granville St. Entertainment District, this place was lacking any vibrancy or personality. There was nothing to complain about with the food; it was just OK. The serving staff were a bit of a bright spot in an otherwise dull and uninteresting place.
My wife and I decided to try out this restaurant for valentines day this year. We were extremely impressed with the level of service provided from when we were walking up the host opened the door for us to pulling out our chairs, to accommodating my nut allergy and ensuring everything was ok. We will definitely be coming back to this place and would definitely recommend it.
I had the scallops appy and I've never had scallops so over done in my life. They were cooked beyond covering up. Honey garlic chicken wings were mushy on the inside, questioning the validity of them. Others at the table said their food was just fine/average noting the fair review.
I have recently booked it hoping that my daughter (1yr old), my dad (senior) and my canucks dies hard husband will all fit in one place that will cater to their individual needs.. and here we were. Food was for all ages. Tried the flatbread pizza (or please see how they called it in their menu); salad was good; beef dip was awesome!; calamari was great too! - overall, with a toddler, the ambiance was great, my husband got to watch his canucks game and my dad had a great time as it wasn't too noisy too. If you want to watch the Canucks game though, if you're satisfied watching without the sound, that's a different story :)
Interesting takes on old favourites and beautiful flavour combinations. Everyone at our table raved about their meals. Also enjoyed the music although - for a place without a dance floor - found it a bit loud for conversation later on in the evening. Overall a great find. We'll be back.
Went for a quick with a visiting friend. We had sandwiches which were both excellent. Service was polite and timely. Really appreciated that the music was not intrusive. It's good to be able have a conversation without shouting about the music, although we were at one end of the restaurant(on the left as you enter) which seemed quieter than the other part. Would be happy to return.
