Very unique and good food. Awesome chocolate fondue
The food was excellent, combined with great service! Highly recommend
Our family was in Snowmass for vacation and I made reservations for The Edge. We had a hard time finding it and arrived 15 mins late, but they were very accommodating and sat us at a table outside. We thought we would have a view, but there are no views from the patio. It did have a nice fireplace and fire pit.
The food was very well priced, and each of our dishes was under $30. My husband started with the cabbage rolls which he said were very good, they had a nice sauce and cooked well. I had a house salad with house dressing, it was very good as well. For entree, my husband chose the spicy wurst and chicken wurst. He expected the spicy to be very spicy as it was described as an 11/10 spiciness. It was not that spicy for him but he enjoyed it anyway. The other three in our party chose the seafood pasta. That was probably not the nest choice at a German/Austrian restaurant. The squid was very fishy tasting, the octopus was not pieces of octopus tentacles as normally done, but mini octopi with heads. The sauce was buttery but not flavorful.
Overall I would give it a 3.8.
The food was delicious!
Love the food and the service! This is our family’s favorite restaurant!
A group of skiers looking for a good meal, most of us ordered the International Women’s Week special, a great beet salad followed by coq au vin served over elbow pasta and creme brûlée. Our waiter was not attentive and never asked why most of the entrees at the table were barely eaten. We were disappointed since we had a great meal last time we dined at The Edge. To be fair, another ski club had a great experience the next evening.
Slow service and mediocre food. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Lovely German and Austrian dining in cozy setting with good service. Delicious Schnitzel, Brats, deer strip loin, and veal breast stuffed with beer sausage are favorites! Portions are generous. Also fondue for dinner and dessert available.
This is one of my favorite meals of the year when we travel to Snowmass.
Reservation resulted in horrible table in high traffic high noise level. I chose to leave but my wife wanted to stay. Hostess would not assist. When we complained again to waiter he found us a better table among the many unoccupied tables. After that service was excellent and I left waiter 40% tip. Food mediocre far below the standard we experienced in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria at even the more modest restaurants
We had a good waiter a young man from South Africa. We had the red snapper entree and the portions were very large. It was an enjoyable Valentines Day dinner.
Great food, drinks and waiter
We had a birthday dinner with friends. The food, ambience and view were perfect. Thanks. We’ll be back soon.
Too much garlic in everything. My pasta dish was 99% pasta and 1% veggies
Excellent German "oriented food - our group of 4 had various forms of schnitzel - veal and pork - and all were excellent. Very good time had by all
Our waiter was very kind and helpful with finding the perfect entree for each of our family members. He reminded us of our son-in-law, a very good thing. The hostess was delightful and very helpful. It was an all around great experience.
The staff and the food are amazing, definitely coming back next time we are in Aspen!
Awesome apres-ski deal, the chicken schnitzel was delicious!
The Cod was absolutely amazing and the staff are always wonderful to deal with here.
Excellent service, staff and food. Had the Pork shank and it fell right off the bone.
The only part of my meal that was hot was the sauce on the weinerschneitzel. Noodles and veggies were room temp. Even the veal was not piping hot. Otherwise it would have tasted great. I left most of the good on the plate. Mu husband’s meal was correct temp
Convenient to the slopes, truly unique, well-prepared menu, fair prices and excellent service. What more could you ask?
Although the food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves, it was not what was advertised. My boyfriend's mom and brother came to town for New Years Eve and I suggested this restaurant and shared the menu with them. German food sounded great and so made reservations. There was no "please note" sent out to let us know that it was a set menu at a set price of $75 per person and it wasn't the German food we were expecting. Any questions we asked wait staff was answered with a "I'm not sure" or "To be honest, I have no idea". However, what was served was delicious and well executed. I've worked in fine dining restaurants for over a decade and know every experience is different but thought it unfair to not give us a heads up or seek answers about the food for us.
We enjoyed a lovely time in this restaurant
We had an enjoyable meal at the Edge after skiing. I had the red deer and it was fantastic! The goulash was also very tasty. They were very accommodating for Celiac Disease gluten allergy. We will definitely come back.
Food took a very long time to arrive.
Service was strange - server made us feel chef was doing us a favor by honoring our requests (ie extra green veg in place of potatoes).
The heating elements for the fondue dishes didn’t work properly even though fondue is a main attraction at this restaurant.
My husband wanted just olive oil and vinegar for his salad dressing but the restaurant didn’t have olive oil. Who ever heard of such a thing?
Food was good nothing extraordinary - certainly not worth the extended wait and question whether the chef would honor our not-unreasonable requests.
We’ve been to this restaurant a few times over the years on vacations to Snowmass. Unlikely to go back.
Not trying to be mean... just being honest!
If you like delicious, well-made food and don’t need white tablecloths, go here. LOVED IT
Tasty authentic food in a quaint environment. I wish I could have had more items on the menu!
I just could not get past the greasy smell of this restaurant... it just put a damper on the whole experience.
I got the baked cod and my husband got the schnitzel. Portion size were large. I liked my cod 4 our of 5, flaky and not greasy as it was baked. A little uneven on the mustard that came with it. I thought my husband's schnitzel was awful but he thought it was ok.
Apple Streudel for dessert was really fabulous. It came with a large scoop of ice cream.. none of that wimpy scoop that some places give you. They have several other dessert options that look really good.
I would definitely go there for dessert without hesitation but I would probably not go back for dinner.
Good food. Stale decor. Not good for young kids - even though they do have kids menu. Would only recommend to someone looking for German food or fondue specifically.
We lived in Switzerland for 7 years and have come to really enjoy cheese fondue. We did not expect to find anything close to that at Edge but we did. We had salad as a starter and then cheese fondue which was very good. It was served with bread (not quite enough and they charge for refill which we have never seen before), apples, brocoli, pickles and sausage. Combined with a good glass of white wine it makes for a great dinner
Reasonably priced restaurant for Aspen area. Good swiss food and we had a great fondue.
Excellent service. Very fresh. Salads were really good. Loved my schnitzel
Great Northern European fare. Excellent family recipes from European chefs. Loved the fondue, schnitzel, red cabbage kraut, spatzle, and mussels.
Perfect complement to snow draped ski slopes!
Fondue was incredibly bland and way overpriced. Service was SO bad. 2 hours from sitting down to finish entrees. And, it wasn’t even that crowded plus there were lots of staff running around. “Thai” “wurst” was so spicy hot it was inedible. None of the wursts was really German food.
Great venison dishes with a German flavor. Fondue for 2 can easliy serves six people as an appetizer, but it had salami instead of the described sausage. They recently changed the menus to all English. Previously the dishes were described in German.
We went to celebrate my birthday.
The potato pancakes were humongous but delicious. The birthday smorgasbord was over the top . My favorite was the apple schnitzel. My husband enjoyed the Wiener schnitzel. We chose to sit in the private dining room with a beautiful view of the tree with lights
Delicious food, super attentive staff. The food seemed to be authentic German food.
Was great food when I went last year. Went this year and they said they were totally full when I arrived. But then I looked at open table and there were 3 openings. Went back after booking online and got table and literally sat there for 25 minutes without anyone even acknowledging my presence. I asked the hostess just to make sure there wasn't confusion over who had my table (has happened to me before). Still no one. The people next to me made some comments about how they were the ignored stepchild and the other people at table near me had been waiting for food since before I got there so I decided to leave and go elsewhere. Was looking forward to another great meal there but never had opportunity this time around. I hope this was just a glitch that evening. Will try next year
