Exceptional. So sad this place is closing, and was honored to be a guest here. Have had so many happy memories at this place especially at the bar, eating something delicious, drinking something amazing and meeting some wonderful people. Best of luck to everyone at the Eddy and I hope to hear about your next ventures soon.

We came because The Eddy is closing and we’ve always wanted to try it. We had two drinks each and decided to split a bunch of appetizers and sides. The lángos and the sausage starters were amazing. The wine and cocktails were good but the variety was limited particularly for wine and it was overpriced. Our “main course” was the soft shell crab, asparagus, and chicken liver mousse. Unfortunately, all of these dishes were SO close to being good, but ultimately were too rich for us. The asparagus was charred but drenched in a heavy cream sauce. We got two toast points smothered in pate, which was highly unappetizing even for a self-proclaimed foie gras & Pate lover. The soft shell crab was done well but very salty. Overall, we enjoyed the evening and flavors but are very glad we had 25% for the closing special. We wish we’d tried some of the other dishes! Looking forward to what comes next from the chef here.

The Eddy serves some of the most imaginative food and drink in NYC. Wonderful, knowledgeable staff. Intimate atmosphere. This was our fourth time there in 2 years and we'll be back again soon.

I love this place. The food. The food is amazing. I don’t know how I can begin to do it justice. The beet tartare, the tongue pastrami, the pork chop, all out of this world. The maitre d came to check on us 3x, the waitress was personable, there when you wanted her and not intrusive when you didn’t. The cocktails were fun, strong and subtle at the same time. The ambience is rustic and cozy. So many great things I could say about The Eddy

I was expecting American food and it turned out to be a bad take on Hungarian. It was hard finding something we wanted to order and we ended up not liking what we chose. Service was great tho.

We went for a special Passover dinner on April 20, which turned out to be a wonderful modern spin on all the traditional holiday foods. With our matzoh appetizer, for instance, we got a spreadable chicken liver mousse and a whipped bone marrow cream with truffles, along with the usual charoset. For the main course we had our choice of melt-in-your-mouth lamb chop or a crispy Arctic char. And of course wine pairings with each course. Final pour of the night was a sweet Hungarian dessert wine -- Tokaji Kesoi Furmint -- to match a yummy panna cotta with kumquat & pistachio.

While the wait staff was friendly and helpful, the kitchen was unbelievably slow. Some of the first courses (there ware five of us) were very good (a spring salad with feta and chickpeas), others only fair (a disappointing shrimp-stuffed bell pepper). When the main course finally arrived---most of us had pork coppa --- the pork was very good, but there was very little else on the plate. Not very interesting. The desserts were really terrible. We didn't finish them. All in all, a protracted and expensive evening with not a lot of upside. This is the third visit to the Eddy, won't be back any time soon.

Definitely not as good as it used to be. Tasting menu is overpriced considering three of the five courses are vegetarian. Lamb main was mostly fat and bone. None of our party finished the meal. With so many good food options in the East Village, The Eddy needs to step up its game if it’s going to stay relevant

Despite the recommendations by some restaurant critics, we did not order a la carte and instead went with the tasting menu. We also opted to have the wine pairing. We were just in that kind of mood. WOW I am so glad that we did. The food is interesting and delicious. The wine pairing is satisfying and balancing. We tasted everything on the menu with the exception of the ribeye, sharing each course as they came. There is definitely something to this arrangement of dining. It is a pricey night in the end but definitely worth it, and I would say that the wine pairing is a value. I had a peek at the Dry-Aged Ribeye for 2 with salt-baked potato and we will definitely get that next time. The service is impeccable and genuine. The manager warmly greeted us and clearly is in quiet command. The service comes with ease instead of an eagerness to please... Probably because they know how satisfying your experience will be. I have read that the atmosphere is quiet and I have also read that it was lively. This is a small cozy restaurant that started out intimate and became lively as all became engaged in the experience. Highly recommend!

The food were all things I've never had before, and all of it was absolutely delicious! The wine list has only outstanding wines full of variety and value to assure you that there is something fantastic for everyone and is served at the perfect temperature in beautiful glassware. Joyful staff and beautiful setting. It's a small space and the liquors, cocktails, food menu, and wine list are all short with only great selections so it's really easy to order confidently and then just relax and enjoy dinner. It's everything that feels great about finding a real gem in New York City.

Tables are tight and the volume was intense. The music was great but so hard to hear over really boisterous diners. Can’t blame the establishment. Maybe Tuesday would be a better night than Thursday. Food was divine. Boyfriend said the salad was the best he had ever had. We went for restaurant week and the wine pairings were delicious. I love French wine and got turned onto a new grape I am excited to explore. My stuffed cabbage was so full of flavor and crunch and the Kabocha “fondue” deserved to be licked off the plate. Boyfriend had the seafood stew. Scallops were so fruity and fresh. Bread is a must for the broth. So glad they participated in RW. We will definitely be back.

Though the food was delicious, I ultimately found the portion size of the entree (seafood stew) to be beyond the scope of what was justifiable by either price or level of cuisine. This is the first time in a decade of New York I’ve ever felt this way.

Food was all over salted. I ordered the Lamb ribs and it was a terrible cut- hardly any meat on it, mostly all fat. The fish stew was hardly that. My partner said the shellfish was sitting in a parsley-puddle. Overall it was very sub-par.

My friends and I went to the Channuka Tasting menu this past weekend. While The Eddy is one of the only places in the city with a Channuka Tasting menu (props to them!), the meal was really expensive. The food was delicious, but my friends and I left hungry. If you're looking for a delicious meal, with small portions, this is the place to go. The waiters were top notch, and the ambiance was great...I just wish I had twice the amount of food!
