I've been here a few times and usually it's great but this time the food was terrible. The server said to come back next time so they could make it up to us but no thanks. Weird they didn't offer something at the time. Really bummed because we used to love this place!

I love visiting New York City and trying new restaurants. I’ve seen that this was the top of the few eatery lists and decided to give it a try. The food was good, The ambience was excellent, but the service left a bit to be desired. I still recommend going. While not one of the most adventurous of menus, they do have a fabulous way of reinventing your favorites.

Oysters were the stars here but everything was, or at least looked, good. Fried chicken was also a hit!

The front desk staff and coat check were amazing. Oysters were delicious. I would suggest a bread service with oysters and appetizers because of the wait time for entrées.

This place is super cute and fun! I loved the restaurant, everything we ate and the service was excellent. My husband and I got the grass fed burger and fried chicken with biscuits- both were soooo good and reasonably priced. We were celebrating my birthday and they gave me a yummy dessert with a sparkler in it and took my picture with a Polaroid- it was such a nice surprise! We would definitely go back here!

It was a meal of great contrast. My meal was very bland - beet salad and shrimp scampi entree. On the other hand, my son's - octopus tostada and hanger steak w/ kimchi fried rice - was very flavorful. We shared the king crab appetizer which was great.

Great meal! The restaurant was a little noisy, as usual, but that's really part of its charm. Terrific menu, great execution. I always look forward to a dinner at The Dutch!

We dined at the Dutch this past weekend to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It's a great restaurant for Sunday brunch. To our surprise, the portions were very generous. It was impossible for most of the guests in our "party of 10" to finish our entire meal due to the large portions. The ambiance was perfect for a gathering with friends and family. The quality of the food was very fresh. As a special treat we ordered the doughnut tree - what a wonderful and tasty surprise for all of our guests. If you plan on dining for brunch, you need to make a reservation as walk-ins are almost impossible, especially during the holiday season.

Loved, loved, loved the Dutch! I’ve been wanting to eat here for the longest time and it was definitely worth the wait! Such a lovely, warm & cozy Soho hotspot. We had a 7pm reservation on a Friday evening and to no surprise they were already busy. We had a cute table in the back dining room, in the corner, by the fireplace and it was perfect. The staff was great from the friendly hostesses, the waitstaff, & even the manager who gave us 2 cupcakes at the end of our meal. Our drinks were superb & our apps & dinner were delicious! I would HIGHLY recommend eating here! Definitely won’t disappoint!!!

I️ was so excited to celebrate a reunion with dear friends after years of not seeing eachother yet the whole evening was very mediocre and we all wish we’d gone elsewhere. The biggest issue that sadly stuck out throughout the night was what happened at the beginning. The 2 hostesses had an unexpected attitude when we asked to be seated as per our reservation after standing 15 minutes looking into a very uncrowded restaurant. Super unfriendly and for no good reason, I️t goes without saying there are much “cooler” restaurants out there, I️ just had a great brunch there a few years back and thought I️t would be perfect location-wise for everyone who was meeting. After asking 2-3 times about our table, we were sat at a tiny corner booth for 2 people when our party was 3, whereas the person in the middle would have been super uncomfortable, it very clearly wasn’t a table designed to accommodate 3.... a manager did come help us after we spoke up and got us a new table but I️t set the mood for the evening whereas we didn’t feel welcome or taken care of. I’d give the wait staff, food etc after that a 3.5 out of 5 and wouldn’t recommend I️t to others. I️t should be said this is one of the first negative reviews I’ve left a restaurant living in nyc 12 years, something has to be really off for me to say anything, as a fellow small business owner....

This was my first time back at the Dutch in many years, and the restaurant is certainly no longer hot. This can be a plus, as reservations are now easy, and there are empty tables, although not too many. The dishes also seem less ambitious, with the mains limited to fish, chicken and beef, with one lamb dish, no daily specials. There used to be more variety and effort. The oysters are good, but if you are looking for something cooked as an appetizer, the selection is limited. I did like the octopus tostada, which was the only cooked appetizer on the menu that seemed appealing. Main dishes fall in the area of comfort food, their signature dishes being fried chicken and hangar steak. I had the hangar steak, which I liked, with kimchee rice that was also very good, but my wife had the pan roasted chicken which she didn't like at all. I tasted a friend's fried chicken, which I found dry and overcooked. I didn't at all like the apple pie, and that is an understatement. The cocktails were quite good. Wines by the glass were dull.
