I was excited to try The Dutch after many years of passing by. I would say it was good but not great? We went to brunch and while the menu felt limited, there were options. We got the banana foster doughnut to share which was amazing. Then we both got the breakfast sandwiches (one sans sausage) and it was good but lacking something? I wouldn’t say I didn’t enjoy but I won’t be running back. I was also seated by the window and there was no insulation so I practically sat with my coat on. Even the waiter was wearing his. There is better brunch out there.
Lovely table, superb meal. So fantastic to return to The Dutch.
Great food and great service!
Wonderful food and staff! I always come back. Excelent option to have a good lunch at Soho!
We live in the neighborhood and visit fairly regularly. It is very reliable. The food is always good and the service is professional. It is a great place to eat.
It was Christmas Day so I get maybe folks don’t love working but the service was really bad, super rushed and verging on rude - we were served our entrees only minutes after apps. Food was good, burger and fried chicken we’ve had before, but there were no “festive specials” as mentioned when booking. Pretty disappointing all around.
I love the Dutch. Something for everyone; good cocktails; excellent service. Their outdoor space is ideal--open to the air on one side, with overhead heaters. We had brunch--omelettes and a smoked salmon plate--and we started with a shared bananas foster donut. Excellent way to spend a December afternoon.
Our family had a lovely and delicious dinner at The Dutch on Christmas Eve. We were looking for a place we could enjoy a special meal while dining comfortably and safely outside. The Dutch checked both requirements beautifully.
Highlights were a half dozen Wellfleet oysters, eggplant dip with crunchy, lemony Zatar crackers and sea bass over a crispy rice cake. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely.
The Dutch is consistently great! I love the elevated take on American classics and the relaxed atmosphere. The front of house and wait staff are professional and very friendly. Great experience from start to finish!
Great food and ambiance
Menu and food were ok not great. Packed in like sardines. Loud because you get packed in. Service was ok but nothing extraordinary. For the $$ it’s nothing to run back for. We had fried chicken and the pasta dish.
My overall thoughts:
1. Host. The host could not have been less welcoming if he was trying.
2. Safety. They did not check our covid passes. My two guests and I arrived separately and not one of us were checked.
3. Decor. Lovely.
4. Service. Our waiter was great. Note that the food comes disconcertingly fast so linger over your drinks before placing order.
5. Food. We came for the fried chicken and it was very, very average (and a bit over cooked). Biscuit was blah. Slaw was weirdly spicy. Fries not worth it. Brussel Sprouts delicious. Devils Food Cake delicious.
What a great meal! Fun place, great food, and friendly, attentive staff.
Always a great experience
Fries and steak were underdone. Kimchi fried rice had big chunks of salt in it and was cold. Meal took over an hour to arrive at table. My husband and I had a train to catch so did not have time or energy to send food back to the kitchen. Disappointing.
We had an 8pm reservation and did not get sat until 9:15pm for dinner. It was a great meal however they were clearly overbooked. Server was extremely nice and the meal was fantastic so I need to be clear about that. Suggest they get more organized on balancing reservations and walk-in dining.
Great dinner ambiance in soho. Good food and cool vibes. Get the ribs as a starter!
The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and welcoming but boy do they rush people. The food is expensive but good - but you should get more than 45 minutes when you're paying that much. (Frankly, no one should be rushed at a restaurant but with this price tag you should get a little time to linger and enjoy the food.) They were dropping the check as they were picking up our dessert dishes. It wasn't just our table - everyone else around us got the same treatment. I usually don't say anything negative but it was awful and incredibly obvious.
Consistently awesome every time !!!
Great menu. Great service. Great fun!
The music was over modulated, the halibut was overcooked and served on a bland and cold noodle slaw, there were 6 ravioli on a $25 entree. We felt disappointed and over charged at the end of the meal. I was embarrassed to have suggested we eat there.
Always reliably fantastic, from the welcoming staff to the delicious comfort food. We keep coming back!
Great place...great staff...amazing food! Definitely will return!
The Dutch is consistently good. It is a go to place for us.
Simple menu – delicious food, great service and a lovely place!
I was still thinking of my meal 24 hours later….that’s how tasty it was! My husband and I enjoyed all of our food. Service was great. The only thing I have never liked about The Dutch (even pre-pandemic) is the closeness of the tables.
Service was majorly lacking. The food & drinks are great.
We went to the Dutch for my mom’s birthday and it was just great. They were so accommodating for my parents and even brought her a cake at the end of the meal for her. It was a great evening and the food was excellent as well.
This place was so cute! Wish they had a better selection on the brunch menu but the items we did get were delicious!
Wonderful place, great atmosphere and attentive staff complimented with delicious meal.
Great food...fried chicken is a must. Fish was also excellent. Front room is very very noisy. Try the back room or outside if the weather is fair.
I’ve been many times and enjoyed myself for dinner, but I was quite disappointed in the lunch menu. Not enough lunch style choices such as a selection of hearty salads.
Best brunch spot with a live pet atmosphere, but cozy feels! Food was delicious! They were incredibly busy so we didn’t get to order for awhile, but the service was great! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return!
Great place to enjoy a drink (or two). As far as the food goes, don’t expect too much- their famous fried chicken was quite bland as was the jumbo shrimp appetizer. Highlights were the ravioli and the apple pie cake.
The Dutch is a solid B+ in nyc. Very good food ( hanger steak & halibut). Great cocktails. Ambiance a bit tired and pricey.
Wonderful food and service, reasonable prices. The outdoor heaters were not working on a chilly and windy night.
Overall a great place.
Brought out a sparkler for my bday
The Dutch has ample outdoor seating in a comfortable setting. Our plans changed and the host was very accommodating, switching the reservation from a party of 4 to 2 and giving us a nice table. The food is very good and there is a fun cocktail menu if you're so inclined.
Terrible service. The place was empty and not even with that the waitress was able to be patient and when ask with certain drinks (orange juice) he say they disnt have but the next table he brought some
