Service was terrible both at the bar and at the table - the place is slipping
Love The Dutch, more so during the warmer months when the windows are open, but still a great vibe during the winter. The food is great and the place is really nice.
Came for my bday, I had been there before but none of my guests...they ALL said that it was the best brunch ever! I already knew I would love it :) will definitely come again and bring more folks :)
Experience was fantastic. Came in from Philly and only staying for one night. Shout out to our bartender Raymond who took care of us while we enjoyed our meal and drinks at the bar.
Another great brunch...with the highlight being the amazing cornmeal pancakes. Also, really delicious spinach and cheese melted, and strong, flavorful coffee.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Must go when I have friends visiting from out of town. Always has a great vibe, delicious food and the service is amazing. Brendan who works the back room is my favorite—really makes me feel welcome!
UPDATE: After sharing my feedback below, a manager from the restaurant called and we had a great conversation. The fact that they even called to follow up was great. And the manager will coach that particular waiter. Will definitely be going back. ORIGINAL review: This was my second visit. The first visit was great. This time, not so much. The waiter was very pushy and trying to upsell constantly. It became really annoying. There were three of us having dinner - the person who ordered the fried chicken loved it! The tilefish was not very good and the third item was okay but not great. Overall, disappointing, but especially the very pushy waiter.
The service overall was great. The food cost vs quality did not match. I was disappointed by the lack of originality and taste of the food.
Great experience every time I’ve dined here. Food, service and atmosphere.
Boyfriends birthday, was great
Third time for us. Great atmosphere and delicious food. We will come again
Just so lovely. Best duck ever.
Really good and nice
Love the ambiance here!
Very pleasant atmosphere, interesting menu, tasty dishes, great service. Nothing else to say, and I would definitely recommend for a family brunch.
Good food and service
My husband surprised me with a new wedding ring. The Dutch sent out champagne and a dessert with a sparkler. It was excellent food and ambience
Great time! Thanks so much this place is killer. Thanks for the hookup on seating preference!
The waiter's services can't save my overall impression of the restaurant. The host was rude and unprofessional. Food was mediocre and salty. We deserve good food, good service and respect when we pay that price. I won't recommend this restaurant to a friend
Price vs. Quality of food very poor. Noise level very high
Christmas Day dining for 3 at 7pm. Great corner table. Exceptional service from everyone. Food was on point! Thank you for making it a special day.
Very low quality food for the price. We were a party of eight, we ordered different dishes and nobody liked the food. Dessert was the exception.
Fun Christmas Day lunch.
The food is not up to the price. We had the hangar steak and the black bass and they were both meh. Both were $40. The bourbon ice cream that came with the apple tart was too salty, if you can believe that, at a whopping price if $15. The atmosphere and service were ok but the restaurant is quite large. With so many better options in NY, I’m not coming back.
It was perfect.
Truly enjoyed it! Great service... fresh oysters , Sea Bass and Fried Chicken!! We’ll be back!
Such a wonderful experience and the Duck was exceptional!
Incredible service. As always!
Such a great place time and time again! Especially during Christmas time it feels extra cozy.
While the food was very good, the noise level (quite loud) and the cramped tables overshadowed the meal.
Food was good, service was horrible. They kept clearing our food before we were done, we felt completely rushed, waiters rolling their eyes at small requests. Unacceptable, especially for this type of restaurant. I dine out a lot in nyc, I won’t be returning.
Service was superb. Food excellent. Can get pricey though.
Fun location, interesting menu. Definitely ask for the front room, it's got a better vibe than the back.
A really wonderful brunch menu, with lots of good choices. We especially like the spinach omelet, the cornmeal pancakes and the smoked salmon and egg scramble. And our server, Brendan, was sensational. We can’t wait to go back.
Very good food and ambience and good service.
Only thing to complain about is the very arrogant and unpleasant welcome that we received from the hostess when we arrived at the restaurant.
The food is well designed and prepared - it seems like a well oiled machine. The service on the other hand needs an improvement. It’s slow and at times I wasn’t sure if I was annoying the server by making requests, and I was certainly not being asked if I needed anything. Also, when making a reservation, I don’t appreciate being given a table in the bar where people not only sit at the bar but stand around the bar and basically hover over the handful of tables in that area. Those should be reserved for walk-ins. If I drop $250 on a meal, I expect better ambiance and service. The food though, amazing. The duck is prepared perfectly alongside the most flavorful and delicate foie gras with fluffy pancakes that provide an interesting an unique touch. The citrus salad is refreshing and the perfect starter to any meal. The drink selections are also unique and masterfully prepared. My cocktail was an interesting blend of bourbon, apple cider, and other spices which I felt was the perfect winter cocktail. Definitely recommend.
the place is nice BUT the noise level is simply unbearable...will look for a more pleasant place next time...
Fernando, our waiter, provided us with a memorable meal. We had the fried chicken, lobster fettuccine after the eggplant appetizer. Nice cocktails and fantastic service. The apple pie is divine! Definitely coming back and our service was excellent. Great vibe, everyone we met was attentive. We highly recommend!
Love The Dutch. Oaxacan Rise cocktail was perfectly balanced and delicious. We had the omlette which was the best I have ever had - eggs cooked to perfection. My friend had the waffle which he enjoyed. Cozy, vibrant atmosphere.
The oyster sandwich is a must-order item; other appetizers are worthwhile to try. Everything comes in small quantities. The seafood served in the restaurant is fresh. Regarding entries, fried chicken generally is good, but sometimes it is over crispy, which will make the white meat dry and hard to eat. T-bone steak is typically good for two people to share (if you already order some appetizers). The wine list is very different and exciting. Mostly US region wine, the price tag is toward high side watch out what you order; It can quickly build up the bill at the end of the night. I would say easy $250 for two with proper food and drinks.
Overall, I think this is a great place to enjoy a night out.
Again, study the wine list first and formula your dinner order plan. It will make your order a lot easier more confident.
