The Dunraven Inn
We went to The Dunraven Inn based on a recommendation from a former employee of the Dunraven. My boyfriend and I were in Estes for the weekend celebrating his birthday. We did make a reservation ahead of time also by recommendation so we did get seated right away which was great. The food was good. He ordered the Baked Lobster Ziti and absolutely loved it. I ordered Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken and it was good. The only real issue I had was with the price is my meal. It was the same as his and tasted no different than going to Olive Garden or Outback. Definitely not worth $30. So either mine was overpriced or his was underpriced. But overall it was a good meal. The restaurant is a bit cramped and loud but enjoyable.
Entire staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you!
The Dunraven is one of our go-to restaurants whenever we visit Estes Park. The entrees are large enough to share and are delicious.
This was a recommendation from a family member. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced for this type of restaurant.
Dunraven Inn is always on our list of things to do when we travel to Estes Park. The atmosphere and the excellent food are always a treat!
Loved the Lasagna, steak and chicken piccata! We had dinner there 2 nights in a row. Met the owner Andy...great guy! Both waitresses were great!
The baked Ziti was awesome, my wife had 7 cheese pasta ,tasty at first while warm but the sauce as it cooled had a weird different taste, she said she’d probably Not order it again
We love this place! Never a disappointment! Service and meal was very good. Will come again soon. I also love that you are on Open Table App:-)
Have been coming here for 15+ years and its 45 miles from our home. We came here for special occasions or when we are Rving in Estes park. Even after the DunRaven was sold, the service and food has not changed just has gotten better. Andy & Cindy the new owners have kept this Restaurant to what it was since our first visit and then some.
We tried this new restaurant in Estes Park, for a birthday dinner. We usually eat at Twin Owls for a nice dinner out, but they were unavailable. We liked the ambiance of the restaurant, and the menu had a good selection. However, the restaurant was busy and the service was slow. We waited 10 minutes for our server to take our drink orders.
We ordered lobster ravioli, which was overpriced given it was heavy on pasta and cheese but lacking in lobster claw meat. We also ordered a special, filet mignon stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and garlic; however, the steak was definitely not a filet... it was probably top sirloin, certainly lacking the texture and flavor of a filet. Garlic mashed potatoes didn't have any garlic flavor. Overall the meal lacked flavor and the quality that we expected.
We let our waitress know we were disappointed, and she was nice about it and took 1/2 the cost of the steak dinner off of the bill. We think this restaurant could be better for a casual dinner, but not a $100+ night for a special occasion.
Our favorite restaurant in Estes Park. I have been going for over 20 years. A lot of memories and great food
I took my three, grown children with their spouses and my grandchildren to dinner Saturday night, 10/13, and it was a terrific occasion. Our waiter was wonderful: He was timely in his service, made excellent suggestions and had a terrific, "can do" spirit. Because the grandchildren were both under 3, we knew we had a window of limited length to enjoy our occasion and get the little kids back to our cabin at the Y Camp in time for bed. Our waiter, without being told but recognizing the fact that our reservation was at 5:45 p.m., moved things along at just the right pace. He truly helped make the evening a success. The food was excellent and the portions plentiful. All in all, it was a terrific dining experience.
Highly recommend this spot for any special occasion
Excellent food and I loved the overall look of the restaurant! Very cozy. Highly recommend the Lobster Ziti..AMAZING!
Still the best restaurant in Estes Park, just be sure to make a reservation!
Love the red sauce! But now I have to write another 30 letters to meet the minimum to get this printed....
Although we've had good experiences in the past, this birthday dinner was a disappointment. The lasagna was excellent, but my filet mignon which was supposed to be stuffed with garlic cloves and gorgonzola at the price of $37 was subpar. There was a couple of little chunks of Gorgonzola on the top and a lot of garlic stuffed in between. When I asked them to take it back and present it in the way that the special described it I got it back over cooked and not well presented. This was my bad as the Dunraven is known for its Italian cuisine and I should have just ordered something Italian. I fell for the special instead... Our server was wonderful and she took 50% off of my special. I never asked for that, so it was a nice gesture.
We have been coming to Estes Park for 38 years and have enjoyed The Dunraven for many of those visits.
Dinner was outstanding as is always the case when I din at the Dunraven.
The Dunraven is our favorite place to dine when we go to Estes Park. It never disappoints. The tradition of posting a personalized one dollar bill in the lobby area is fun and unique. This time we took a picture so we can find it next time.
We were seated in the bar area for this visit and we will be requesting these seats next time, service was exceptional.
Had a great evening at Dunraven! Would recommend to anyone visiting Estes Park!
Always a special meal in a breathtaking mountain town.
Good meal at The Dunraven. Place was crowded, but that is to be expected on a weekend evening. Everyone's meal was very good. Presentation was also good. Our server was a little slow and not the friendliest, but not enough to take away from an excellent meal. The place was hoping, with a large bridal party being served as well, so this may have slowed the kitchen and the service and it might not have been the server's fault - guess we'll just have to go again to find out!!!
We had heard great things about the food at the Dunraven Inn. We were not disappointed. Not only was the food excellent but three out of four took leftovers home that were enough for lunch the next day. The Dunraven is there for the food. It is a smaller restaurant with as much space as possible filled with tables to serve the crowds. The bar area is very small and not intended as a destination in and of itself, more as a pass through while you wait for a table. All in all we enjoyed our meal very much. My wife and I split the chocolate avalanche cake for dessert and it was excellent. Prices were also very reasonable.
We enjoy coming here after a day in Rocky Mountain National Park. Off the beaten track up Big Thompson canyon near the YMCA. Ask for a table in the main dining room. You don’t want one of the the tables be the main entry. Great portions. We enjoy their fish specials. Some of the Italian dishes are a bit heavy. Haven’t had steak here yet but reasonably priced.
Visiting Estes Park for Anniversary and Dunraven Inn was recommend. What a great find. Excellent food and service away from crowded city center. If you like robust flavors the lasagna was fabulous, rich marinara, loaded with cheese and meats and baked piping hot. The way it should be. Reasonable wine prices. Tasty tiramisu. Don’t miss this one if you’re hungry for Italian. Reserved ahead through Open Table.
Our server was great and the food options met varying needs. We were early for our reservation but they made an effort to get us seated in a timely basis. Would definitely go there again.
Good meal. Great service. Cute restaurant. Definitely the best place I’ve eaten around Estes Park.
Hands-on local ownership shows in every aspect. From the first moment you walk in, and are surrounded by thousands of one dollar bills, to the last moment when you leave, this is an outstanding location place. Not a single miss with any food item, priced right and great portions all served by friendly, attentive professionals.
This place was unique but we weren’t told the specials before ordering which we regretted and our server wasn’t quite there inquiring as to needs at all-just showed up for order and at end with bill. It is a unique environment. It is pricey and if a substitution was asked for, the dish was simply put on a smaller plate with a normal serving of food (compared to what neighboring tables received) rather than what we asked for (no starch but a double serving of broccoli) so somewhat of a disappointment in that regard. Do not think the high price was warranted as fish and veggies are not worth a $32 charge unless the fish was hand carted in from the shore. Salmon was good but, again, not worth $32.
Outstanding food and service. We were only in town for 3 nights and we came back here for two of them!
Can not wait to come back and enjoy another meal. Everything was so fresh and Delicious!
The food was excellent! The only issue we had was they got the food to us too fast! How's that for a problem!!
Always on our list of places to eat when we visit Estes Park!
Make a reservation, and they seat you right away! “Memet” was our server and was outstanding, even though the place was full. Great food. Great atmosphere.
Our waiter was very good, and personable. Food was outstanding. Had the Wild Mushroom Elk chops (med rare) done perfectly. It was absolutely delicious!
Arrived early and was seated immediately. Waiter was awesome. Menu had a little bit of everything and the food we ordered was awesome. Lasagna and Cioppino. Waiter recommended dessert (Panicotta) and it was wonderful. We will go back whenever we are in town.
We have been dinning with the Dunraven Inn for over a decade. Great food, great service and a great location. Enjoy!
Excellent atmosphere and great Italian food. Local hot spot with great customer base.
I had made a reservation at least a week before our arrival. The reservation was for 10 pm but the web sight said it was open till 11. The second we came in we were greeted with, “We are closed.” We said we had a reservation and a young man went directly to the computer to check. When he saw that we did have a reservation he told a server to seat us. There were other occupied tables at that time but that certainly made us feel like an imposition to the staff.
The quality of the food an service was outstanding. My only complaint would be it was a little loud, but I will return for the great food and service next time I'm in Estes Park
